Suddenly, the front door burst open. A bodyguard flew through the air and crashed onto the floor in front of them.
Presley shrieked in shock. She and her parents sprang to their feet and looked toward the doorway.
Before they could even react, a hundred bodyguards swarmed in like a storm, surrounding them in an instant.
"Who are you people?" Finley shouted, his voice trembling even as he tried to play it cool.
Devin jabbed a finger right at Finley and said to Tobias, "That's the guy. Finley Smith."
The very next moment, Tobias fixed Finley with a cold glare, making Finley shudder inside.
"Who are you?" Finley asked, voice trembling.
"Tobias Moreno, of the Moreno family," Tobias answered coldly.
"The Moreno family!" Finley blurted out, his eyes widening as the realization hit. He knew exactly which Moreno family Tobias meant.
"So what's your position with the Moreno family?" Finley asked nervously.
Devin immediately stepped between Finley and Tobias, ready to pounce if Finley tried anything desperate.
"He's the head of the Moreno family," Devin said.
Finley sucked in a sharp breath, his eyes going wide as he stared at Tobias in disbelief. "You... you're really the head of the Moreno family?"
"Finley Smith, you've got some guts, trying to hurt my woman," Tobias said, his voice cold and lethal.
That one sentence nearly made Finley's soul leave his body.
He said, "This is a misunderstanding! It must be a misunderstanding! I'd never dare to hurt your woman. I didn't even know who she was..."
But right as he was speaking, the realization crashed over him. The words stuck in his throat, his pupils shook, and his whole body started trembling.
"Your woman... is Kaia?" he asked in horror and disbelief.
Presley and Kinsley were both stunned, faces going white with shock.
Especially Presley. She stared at Tobias's face. He was impossibly handsome, but Kaia was his woman. She cursed inwardly, 'Why? Why her? It's not fair!'
As the truth dawned on Finley, he remembered the call from earlier. The man said Kaia had a young man with her. So that "young man" was Tobias.
With a loud thunk, Finley collapsed on his knees, surrendering completely to fear.
"Mr. Moreno, please, have mercy!" he stammered, voice full of panic.
Kinsley collapsed as well, so terrified she could barely breathe.
Presley's eyes flicked around quickly. Then, with a sly thought, she slipped her clothes off one shoulder, pulling the neckline low to expose her curves.
"Mr. Moreno, I admit I was wrong. To make up for our mistakes, I'm yours. Do with me whatever you like," she said desperately.
"Presley, you..." Finley started to speak, but swallowed his words. If his daughter could really get into Tobias's bed tonight, not only could they survive this disaster, they could rise higher than ever.
'That's my smart daughter. She'll stop at nothing to get what she wants,' he thought.
'Unlike that useless Claire, who couldn't even swallow her pride and marry a wealthy old boss just to help her family. She's just never going to get anywhere in life,' he sneered inwardly.
But just as Finley was thinking that, Tobias's voice sounded, dripping with contempt. "You? You're nothing compared to Kaia. Do you really think I'd give up a star in the sky for a piece of trash that can't be recycled?"
Presley's face flushed deep red, furiously cursing Kaia in her mind.
Tobias continued, "I know you're cursing her in your head right now, aren't you? I can't stand anyone speaking ill of her, even in their mind."
Those words were basically a death sentence for Presley.
Tobias said coldly, "Devin, take care of the rest. Send Presley to the poorest tribe in Uflen and make sure she's treated like nothing but property. Let anyone use and abuse her as they please."
