Tobias subtly lifted his chin and gave Abdullah a pointed look. "Do you like this surprise?"
Abdullah didn't make a sound, but he made himself clear with his grimace. He hated seeing Kaia in Tobias's arms. "You two are not well-matched," he commented in the end.
Tobias let go of Kaia and said gently, "Cook on. I want a word with Abdullah."
"Go." Kaia read Tobias's mind, and she didn't bother to intervene. Before long, she heard a lot of noises from the living room.
'It is weird. Vince hasn't shown up for the uproar yet. He is supposed to be awake now. Why is he so quiet? Well, I had better check him up upstairs,' she thought.
She walked past the living room and saw Tobias flip Abdullah over his shoulder.
"Damn! Tobias, did you have to do this to me? I do think that you two not well-matched. Can't I tell the truth?" Abdullah complained.
"Not well-matched? Are you well-matched with Kaia?" Tobias asked.
"Hey, you finally realize that," Abdullah responded.
"To hell with you!" Tobias charged at Abdullah again.
Russell enjoyed the show. "Come on, Tobias! Beat him. Abdullah, are you a punchbag? Rise up! Punch Tobias in the face! Disfigure him, so Kaia will lose interest in him."
Kaia ignored the fight. She hurried upstairs and went straight to Vince's room.
Then, she found Vince lying on his bed and then red spots all over his body. "Vince! What happened?"
Vince struggled to open his eyes. "Kaia... Don't, don't worry. I am..." He blacked out before he finished his sentence.
"Vince!" In a panic, Kaia started checking up on Vince.
Downstairs, Tobias heard Kaia's scream. Without hesitation, he ended the fight against Abdullah and dashed off upstairs.
"What's wrong?" Abdullah asked, totally confused.
Russell rose to his feet and said, "It looks like something happened to Vince."
"Vince? Who's Vince?" Then, it clicked for Abdullah. "Wait, Kaia's little brother?"
"No time to explain. Let's go up there first." Russell led the way.
Abdullah followed right behind. In the room upstairs, Abdullah saw Kaia checking up on a boy.
"Does she know medicine?" Surprised, Abdullah nudged Russell.
Russell was close with Abdullah, so he asked candidly, "What would you think if I said that she was the legendary Dr. Miracle?"
"You must be kidding me!" Abdullah responded.
Hearing this, Russell didn't give any further explanation.
"Wait." With confusion, Abdullah strode to the bed and stretched his hand towards Vince's face.
"What are you doing?" Kaia tried to stop Abdullah.
"It seems he is allergic," Abdullah explained. With astonishment, his hand couldn't help but shake.
"How do you know?" Kaia asked with puzzlement. She didn't find the reason till she checked up on Vince.
Abdullah took a deep breath and then solemnly looked at Kaia. "Did you give him fried eggs with tomato?"
Kaia was taken aback. "How do you know?"
"I just knew it! I just knew it!" Abdullah shouted with a mix of shock and excitement on his face. 'Because of the red dots, I can't see his face clearly. However, it is possible. Look at his facial features!' he thought.
The others were completely puzzled.
"Abdullah, what's wrong? You look way too happy for the situation." Russell asked the question both Kaia and Tobias had in their minds.
Abdullah pointed at Vince's face and then at his. "Don't you think he looks familiar?"
Instantly, the others caught on and understood why they felt familiar with Vince.
"Holy crap! He, is he your long-lost brother?" Russell blurted out.
"Quite possible," Abdullah answered.
"Do you think so because you two look alike? In this world, many people share facial resemblance. Your case with Vince may be one of those coincidences."
Abdullah pointed at one red spot on Vince's face and argued, "I am also allergic to fried eggs with tomato. I almost died of it." Then, silence pervaded the room.
Kaia rose to her feet and instructed, "Enough. Vince's allergic reaction is severe, and I have no medical equipment here. Let's rush him to the hospital now."
"Right away!" Instantly, Abdullah scooped Vince up and rushed out of the room.
Abdullah's family hurried to the hospital at the news.
"Abdullah, is that kid really your little brother?" Jedidiah's hands shook with excitement.
Abdullah's mother, Rachel Swanson, looked thrilled. Her red and swollen eyes implied that she'd shed tears on the way to the hospital.
"He does look a lot like me, and fried eggs with tomato may be the reason for his allergy. For confirmation, we need a DNA test." Abdullah said so, but he firmly believed that Vince was his little brother.
Jedidiah and Rachel hugged each other. "Please, God, let him be our boy!"
Before long, the doors swung open, and Kaia wheeled Vince out of the emergency room.
At the sight of Vince lying with his eyes closed, Jedidiah and Rachel were instantly convinced that they had found their little boy.
"Miss Bennett, how is he?" Jedidiah asked.
Kaia pulled off her mask. "I ran some tests on him and treated him. It is confirmed that his allergy was caused by fried eggs with tomato. After the treatment, he is now in a stable condition."
"Thank you so much! Thank God!" Jedidiah and Rachel cried.
Kaia's brows furrowed slightly. "I'm sorry that I gave him fried eggs with tomato yesterday."
"Not your bad. You didn't know that he is allergic to it," Tobias said softly.
"Tobias is right. Miss Bennett, not your fault. When Abdullah was little, we didn't know that he was allergic. That time, he had to lie in bed for days." Rachel was quite grateful to Kaia.
"Tobias told us about your story with Vince. Without your help, Vince might be a little beggar now. Thanks to you, he has a clean bed and can go to school. Thank you, Miss Bennett. Thank you so much." Speaking, Jedidiah had tears on his face.
Guilt got Jedidiah because his little son had suffered a lot.
"By the way, I had a DNA test for Vince and Abdullah done. The results will be out any minute," Kaia added.
Right then, a young nurse approached Kaia with a medical report and said, "Miss Bennett, the DNA results you need are here."
