Ten years back, they became number two in Wustriland thanks to their breakthrough in LKM current therapy for brain treatment. Eight years ago, Alfred Baker led his team in developing advanced weaponry, bolstering our national defense, and pushing them to the top place.
"But then, seven years ago, Dr. Bennett's institute burst onto the scene, pulling off a series of groundbreaking projects that made waves both at home and abroad. They claimed the top spot, knocking the former leaders into second and third place. Recently, Dr. Bennett's team unveiled a cutting-edge nanomaterial, securing their top place. No one's been able to challenge them since.
"And as for any institute ranked lower than third, their work is pretty unremarkable. Not remembering them hardly means I lack expertise."

"I get it. Maybe this all sounds like empty posturing to you, and I can't blame you for having doubts. But for the sake of our former president, who's stuck in the hospital worrying about us, and for everyone here, I'm going to do something concrete to make sure Morganburg University stays number one in Morganburg," Kaia said. She'd expected some pushback, but this level of hostility was more intense than she'd bargained for.
"Oh? And what magic trick do you think you can pull off? What are you actually capable of?" Jake snorted, clearly convinced that a student who barely showed up wasn't going to shake things up.
"Isn't Longsea University working with, uh… what's that institute again? Janson or whatever? Whatever, that's not important. If they're teaming up on research, then why not run a campus-wide competition? Winner takes home a 15 million dollar prize," Kaia suggested coolly.

Jake snapped, "Ms. Bennett, 15 million dollars? That's not pocket change! Even as the president of Morganburg University, you can't just pull out that kind of money just because you say so, can you? You really think the board is going to approve this?"
"Or do you think the higher-ups will agree? If it were for building new facilities, maybe, but just giving it away to some student who wins a research contest? Please," Jake sneered, his sarcasm on full display.
Even Braylon, who usually sided with Kaia, couldn't help the doubt creeping in. No way they'd approve such an enormous prize just for a student.
