[You're making it sound too mild. I can clearly see that Kaia pressured Gavyn, and he had no choice but to make that announcement.]
[So you mean Kaia knows Gavyn's weaknesses and used them to blackmail him?]
[She's the absolute worst! No shame at all. Someone like her shouldn't even be exist!]
[For real!]

Every single comment online was just a wave of hate directed at her.
Just as Kaia was about to scroll down, Penny snatched the phone right out of her hand.
"Ugh, look at me, I shouldn't have shown you this. Now you're all worked up," Penny said, sounding guilty. "Kaia, seriously, don't stress about it. Why not just let your institute's PR team handle it? If that doesn't work, just flex your Dr. Bennett status and see if they still dare to make a fuss."
Kaia stayed calm, her voice steady. "No need to go overboard. Besides, I'm not even bothered by this matter."
"So you're just gonna let it all blow up and not do anything about it?" Penny asked, totally incredulous.
"Whatever gets thrown at me, I'll deal with it. It's not that I don't care — I've heard plenty of nasty words since I was a kid, so they don't bother me. And arguing with stupid, crazy people? Even if you win, you still get all the mess on yourself," Kaia said, stretching widely.
"I don't have classes this morning, so I'll sleep a little longer and head to school in the afternoon," she added.
Penny watched as Kaia just casually climbed back into bed like nothing had happened, and honestly, she was seriously impressed.
No wonder Kaia's parents always said her composure was something even adults couldn't match, let alone her peers.
If something like this happened to her, she'd probably get so angry that her blood pressure would spike, and she'd fight back with all she's got.
But then she thought about it—Kaia was totally right. Getting all worked up over a bunch of idiots, losing sleep and appetite, just wasn't worth it.
With that thought, Penny looked at Kaia again, her admiration for her growing even more.
One word for her—awesome.
That afternoon, Kaia headed to campus, and everywhere she went, people were whispering and pointing at her.
"Can you believe she actually showed up? After doing something that nasty, if it were me, I'd be hiding at home, way too ashamed to show my face."
"Seriously, look at her—like nothing ever happened. She's got some serious nerves."
"Yeah, well, bad people always have thick skin."
"I mean, seriously. Kaia's stirred up so much drama and trashed our school's rep, how come she's still not expelled?"
Hearing that, Penny just wanted to yell, 'Expel her—are you guys for real? Since when does the head of the school kick themselves out?'
"Kaia—" Penny was about to say something, but when she glanced over, she found Kaia completely absorbed in a book she couldn't even understand, reading with pure interest like she hadn't a care in the world.
Her composure reminded Penny of a scene from a cartoon she once saw: a wise teacher and three students meditating on a high platform, completely motionless and steady as a rock.
The students were still buzzing with whispers.
"How about we all start a petition to get Kaia kicked out? We can say she's got a shady reputation, she's a troublemaker, and she's trashing the school's image."
"Forget it. Listen, I have a friend who works at the news agency. On the day of the research competition, he happened to see Kaia deliberately bump into Zion, so he took a photo and posted it on the campus network, claiming she was reckless and using her looks to seduce Zion. Guess what happened next?"
"Come on, spill it! What happened?"
