"You're right! Wait, I've got the perfect plan—your grandpa and the rest won't stand a chance at interfering," Hazel declared, a sly grin spreading across her face.
"What is it?" Kiera urged, her eyes lighting up with anticipation.
Hazel gave a wicked, knowing grin. "Come on, you're from the entertainment world — why not use the tricks of the trade? Get your fans to vent for you and shove Kaia into the center of the public fury, utterly ruining her reputation."
"She'll be bullied and hated by everyone. Then, with no effort on your part, she'll be ruined and never get back up."
"Good idea!" Kiera banged the table, practically bursting with excitement. "That's settled—I'm firing off a Twitter post this instant!"
"Wait, slow down. If you go public with it today, everyone will know it's just payback against Kaia. What do you think your grandpa and the others will do when they see right through you?" her agent warned.
Kiera was honestly relieved she had her agent in her corner.
"Good thing I've got you—you're basically my secret weapon," Kiera said with a smirk.
"Oh come on, I'm not the smart one here. You're just way too pissed off to think straight,"Hazel shot back.
Hazel gave Kiera another round of praise for her brains, grinning slyly. "Listen up—don't show your face for a few days. Cancel all your appearances and let your fans wonder why you disappeared. After the situation has simmered down, come back and post an unbearably haggard, pitiful photo."
"I'll hire some paid trolls to deliberately stir things up and direct it at Kaia. You stay quiet and do nothing — the fans will make it up, so it looks like Kaia's fault. That way your grandfather and others will have no reason to punish you, right?"
"Perfect! That's exactly what we'll do!" Kiera clenched her fists, chin raised high in defiance.
'Kaia, just you wait—I swear, you're going to regret ever messing with me.' Kiera thought coldly.
For about a week, Kaia took it easy and just focused on getting better. By the end of it, her eyesight was totally back.
The next day after recovery, she went to school.
The homeroom teacher stood at the front of the class. "Alright, everyone, we've got a new exchange student joining us today. Let's give him a warm welcome!"
At first, the class was pretty chill, but the moment they saw the new guy—with his killer looks and those adorable fangs—all the girls totally lost it.
"Huh?" Kaia murmured, sounding a bit confused. She didn't know if it was her illusion. She seemed to have seen the new guy glancing at her.
"Go ahead and introduce yourself," the homeroom teacher said, gesturing for the exchange student to step up.
The exchange student picked up a marker and wrote his name on the whiteboard.
Gideon Rald.
'Gideon Rald?' Kaia's eyes widened in shock.
It wasn't just her imagination; he was clearly targeting her.
After writing his name, Gideon just stood up front, completely silent—never said a word, not even once.
This cold, aloof look was irresistibly attractive to most of the girls in the classroom.
"Oh my god, he's so cool! Look at those fangs and that baby face—he looks even younger than my little brother in middle school. I can't help it — my maternal instincts are overflowing. I want to be his girlfriend!"
A classmate next to her rolled their eyes. "Maternal instincts? You think you're his mom? What does that have to do with being his girlfriend?"
"Why can't I have maternal instincts, and still be his girlfriend? Who says I can't? Is there, like, an official rule or something?" she argued back.
The other classmate fell silent, speechless.
The homeroom teacher looked pretty uncomfortable. "Uh, Gideon, do you want say something to everyone?"
Gideon's brow furrowed. "Can I just go take a seat?"
"Uh..." The teacher was caught off guard, then just shrugged, "Sure, go find yourself a spot."
The whole class went wild—the girls couldn't sit still, giggling and whispering as they eyed the new guy.
"Hey Gideon, come sit with me! Window seat, awesome view—you'll love it!" one girl called out, waving him over.
"No way, pick my side! Those girls over there are total man-eaters—they'll pounce the second you sit down!" another girl joked, shooting a playful glare at the others.
"What is it?" Kiera urged, her eyes lighting up with anticipation.
