It was as if Kaia had unintentionally revealed Sean's fortune, several millions dollars. If this had happened back in high school, the whole school would've been buzzing.
"Yeah, it's pretty good," Kaia nodded, "But compared to the one Collin did for me, it's just not quite on the same level."
Kaia's bold claim left Sean completely speechless for a moment.
Kent burst out laughing. "Kaia, haven't seen you in forever—and now you're cracking jokes?"
Kaia said seriously, "I'm just being honest. I didn't even want it at first, but he kept insisting that I take it."
To be fair, if Collin hadn't been such a senior figure, she would've just turned him down without a second thought.
Honestly, Kaia could've drawn something like that herself.
Kent was at a loss for words.
He pulled Sean aside and said, "Kaia might be stunning, but that sharp tongue of hers can be really unbearable. Sean, maybe you should just forget about chasing her."
Sean just shrugged. "She's probably just saying stuff like that to get a reaction out of me."
"You could be right," Kent said.
Kaia watched the two whispering on the side, bored out of her mind, so she wandered off toward the fruit drinks.
"What are you doing here?" Melvin demanded, glaring at Kaia with obvious irritation.
Kaia spun around, her voice cold and sharp, radiating a clear 'don't mess with me' vibe. "I'm done with the Bennett family. I told you before—if any of you dare bug me again, no matter who it is, I'll throw Andrea out of Morganburg University for good."
"You—you—" Melvin stammered, his face beet red, neck veins bulging from rage.
Afraid Melvin might get too worked up, Emma quickly reached out and patted his back.
"Kaia, is that seriously how you talk to an elder?" Emma chided.
Kaia fixed Emma with a freezing stare that made Emma shiver with cold sweat on her back.
"I don't have time for nonsense. If Andrea gets expelled three times from Morganburg University, she'll be done for—and I'll make sure the Bennett family becomes the biggest joke in all of Morganburg, maybe even the whole Wustriland."
Emma and Melvin were both burning with anger, just about to snap back when Kaia's voice cut through first.
"Keep running your mouth, and I'll send the entire Bennett family straight to hell," Kaia threatened.
That shut them up fast. Melvin and Emma glared at Kaia, too afraid to utter another word.
It took a while for them to finally recover.
"Forget about her. Collin's about to show up."
And as soon as Melvin spoke, Collin emerged, with just about everyone gathering around him.
"Let's head over."
"Yeah."
Melvin and Emma walked up to Collin, beaming from ear to ear.
"Mr. Crawford, long time no see! You're looking as full of energy as ever!" Melvin said warmly.
Collin didn't even bother acknowledging their pathetic flattery—he just walked right by Melvin and Emma as if they didn't exist, instantly turning them into the laughingstock of the whole crowd.
"Mr. Crawford has no idea who they even are, but look at them, acting all important and shamelessly trying to suck up to him. Serves them right for getting snubbed like that!" someone snorted.
"They seriously asked for it. Don't they realize how out of their league they are? Everyone here is dying to buddy up with Collin, but who do they think they are—VIPs or something? Please, they wouldn't even qualify to stand at the back of the line," someone else mocked.
"For real! They don't even care whether they're killing Collin's vibe," another person added, barely holding back a laugh.
The others fell silent, speechless.
The crowd kept throwing shade, and all Melvin and Emma could do was stand there red-faced, wishing the ground would swallow them up.
Finally, Melvin gritted his teeth and forced himself to step up to Collin once more.
"Mr. Crawford, maybe big shots like you forget things easily, but I'm Melvin Bennett—the old patriarch of the Bennett family. You were at my birthday celebration last time and even called me 'buddy', have you forgotten?" Melvin coaxed, trying for that friendly vibe.
