'Is that how it is?' Kaia wondered, her mind spinning.
She thought it might not be true for most people, but when it came to Tobias, maybe he was right.
Now that she'd figured out what she really wanted, Kaia looked at Tobias again, her gaze serious and determined.
"I've never been in a relationship before," Kaia said. "To me, if you're not looking for marriage, you're playing games. I don't agree with that kind of childish stuff, and I don't like it. So if you're looking for a fling, you should find someone else."
"No!" Tobias closed the distance between them, their faces now inches apart, breathing the same air.
"My reason for dating is to have kids, to start a family that will go on for generations. Do I look like someone who's messing around?" Tobias said seriously.
Kaia blinked, completely caught off guard. 'Hold up, is he serious? He's just skipped right past marriage and is already talking about having kids?'
Kaia sighed and said, "And just so we're clear, I don't put up with disloyalty. If we're together, you can't flirt around with other women."
"Come on, you should know me since you've been with me for so long. If we're talking about attracting admirers, you're way better at it than I am, Kaia," Tobias joked.
Kaia shot him a look, raising an eyebrow. "Oh? So now I'm the flirtatious one?"
"Of course not. It's those shameless guys going after you. That's on them, not you," Tobias said, sidestepping the real issue.
Kaia gave a little laugh and stayed quiet.
Tobias slid his hands from her wrist to her waist, pulling her closer. "So, does that mean you're saying yes?"
"If I say yes right now, you'll think I'm too easy," Kaia said. "I want to think about it for a few days."
Upon seeing that, Tobias couldn't help but smile, a mix of helplessness and affection on his face.
"Kaia, you, like a mischievous fairy sent from above, come here to drive me crazy," Tobias said, unable to hold back a playful smile.
Kaia caught a glimpse of the crowd gathering to watch them. Even with her tough exterior, she was still a twenty-year-old girl new to love. There was no way she could handle all those people staring at her.
"Let's head back," she murmured, a bit flustered.
"Sure thing, whatever my wife says," Tobias replied, grinning.
"I told you, I'm not your wife yet," Kaia said, rolling her eyes.
"Alright, my future wife," Tobias replied, grinning.

Later that night, after her shower, Kaia couldn't stand Tobias sitting on the bed, smiling at her nonstop.
"My future wife, have you made up your mind yet? Honestly, you don't have to hold back. Tonight could be really special, you know. Come on, I'm all yours. Do whatever you want with me," Tobias teased, wiggling his eyebrows.
"Sorry, I haven't decided yet. You can leave now," Kaia said, trying to sound firm.
"Don't rush me out. I'm warming up your bed for you. And I can give you a massage, too. I'm actually pretty good at it. If you don't believe me, lie down and let me show you," Tobias said, wiggling his eyebrows.
Kaia's instincts screamed at her. If she let Tobias give her a massage tonight, there was no way she'd escape him, who's been holding back for over twenty years. Tobias'd devour her whole, leaving not even a scrap behind.
Before Kaia could even finish her thoughts, Tobias's strong, warm hand had landed on her pajamas.
It was obvious he was getting ready to help her out of them.
Kaia pointed straight at the door and said, "Out."
"Okay, okay. I'll keep my hands to myself," Tobias said, dragging his hands away, every inch showing how much he hated letting go.
"If you don't get out now, I'm seriously going to stop considering us," Kaia said, dead serious.
That hit Tobias right where it hurt. Kaia had him totally wrapped around her finger.
So, Tobias shot up from the bed, moving reluctantly and glancing over his shoulder at Kaia every few steps. He gave her his most pitiful look and hoped she'd call him back before he reached the door.
However, Kaia didn't try to stop him even after he was completely out and had shut the door.
'The ruthless woman! She's so cruel, but damn if it doesn't make me love her even more,' Tobias muttered under his breath.
