Kaia felt a rush of warmth flooding straight into her chest when Tobias looked at her with those eyes full of adoration. The feeling built up, growing so hot and intense she thought her heart might melt from it all.
After a while, Kaia finally managed to escape Tobias's overwhelming tenderness. She stammered, her cheeks flushed, "There are a lot of people here."
"Okay, I get it," Tobias said with a nod.
Tobias stood up, grabbed Kaia's hand, and pulled her straight into a nearby private suite.
Kiera couldn't catch everything that went down from where she was standing. All she saw was Tobias grabbing Kaia's hand and heading straight into the private suite, shutting the door behind them.
Kiera thought, 'Damn! Things are getting wild!
'Did Tobias seriously just pull Dr. Bennett into a room by himself? Are they about to hook up or what?'
Kiera figured it wasn't that crazy when she calmed down. She thought again. 'Dr. Bennett might be that untouchable legend in my eyes, living above us mere mortals, but she is still a woman. And with Tobias being god-tier, the kind of guy who could sweep anyone off their feet, nobody could blame her for falling for him.'
Thinking about it, Kiera smiled.
'Looks like Kaia's about to fall off her pedestal. Loving the drama!' Kiera thought. She couldn't help but laugh out loud.
Inside the room, Tobias pressed Kaia up against the door, his lips sealing over hers so deeply that she could barely catch her breath.
Kaia's mind went totally blank for a good ten seconds before she finally snapped out of it and shoved him away.
"Who said you could kiss me?" Kaia blurted out, her voice shaky.
"You did," Tobias replied, his eyes so intense it was like he was stealing her soul.
Kaia stammered, eyes wide, "Me? When did I ever say that?"
"Literally every second," Tobias teased, his voice thick with heat.
Kaia stared at him, utterly speechless.
"Sorry," Tobias apologized. "I can't help it, honestly. Like I told you before, you're my fatal weakness, my addiction. Just seeing you makes me lose all self-control. I wanna do things to you, all sorts of things."
The more Tobias tried to explain, the more Kaia was at a loss for words.
'He's like a wolf who's been hungry for twenty-five years, and I'm the prey he's been after,' Kaia thought, feeling both helpless and a little amused by the whole thing.
"Kaia, I'm so happy right now," Tobias murmured, his voice thick with emotion. "Every time you reveal another hidden side, it shocks me even more, makes you even more irresistible. I want you all to myself, and I'd like your name be preceded by my surname."
As Tobias spoke, he moved in again, eyes locked greedily onto Kaia's flushed lips, desperate for another taste of her beauty and sweetness.
However, Kaia wasn't letting him get away with it this time. With a quick move, she slipped right out of his arms before he could claim another kiss.
"Don't forget. I still haven't agreed to be yours," Kaia shot back sharply. "Don't push it. And don't steal any kisses unless I say so next time."
"So, when's next time?" Tobias smirked, stepping closer once again.
Kaia retreated a step, her brows drawing together in wary warning.
Tobias closed in, his voice husky and playful. "I want my next chance right now. Will you say yes?"
"Absolutely not!" Kaia retorted, dodging him again.
"Kaia, don't shut me out, okay? Seriously... I'll be heartbroken," Tobias pleaded, genuine hurt flashing in his eyes.
"Enough!" Kaia snapped, stopping short and pressing her hand firmly against his chest.
"Tobias, even being a shameless flirt has its limits. First, you pretend to be sick to fool me, and I haven't even confronted you about that. Now, you keep pushing your luck, trying to take advantage of me? Look at yourself! Where's your respectable business tycoon image? You're just a straight-up scoundrel."
