The butler and the maids watched the sweet scene unfolding, all of them wearing satisfied smiles. "Looks like Mr. Moreno and Miss Bennett have finally leveled up their relationship," one of them whispered.
"That's such great news! I'm so happy for him," another chimed in.
"Yeah, he's been chasing after Miss Bennett for ages. He finally gets his shot at happiness," someone else laughed.
Blessings echoed throughout the villa, making the whole place feel festive and full of joy.
In the evening, Kaia had personally cooked up a whole feast, and every dish was something Tobias loved.
Tobias propped his chin on his hand, watching Kaia bustling around in the kitchen, a soft smile playing in his eyes. "This feels so good," Tobias commented.
Kaia shot him a glance, saying nothing—she just pushed the bowl toward him. "Come on, dig in," she urged.
Tobias lounged back in his chair, locking his gaze on Kaia. "Honey, I'm all banged up here. Can't you feed me a little?" he pleaded.
Kaia gave him a sideways look. "Since when did you turn into such a wimp? That's so not you."
Tobias threw up his hands, putting on his most innocent face. "I mean, it's not like I got hurt for fun, you know. Fine, if you won't feed me, guess I'll have to fend for myself," he sighed.
With that, Tobias shakily grabbed his fork, really milking the whole "injured" act. He managed to pick up a piece of green, but before it even got close to his mouth, it flopped right back onto the table. Not ready to give up, he stubbornly tried again—only for the green to hit the table just like last time.
Kaia watched the whole ordeal, taking a long breath. 'He's been sticking to me like glue, risking it all—even almost dying for me, so him asking me to feed him… honestly, it's not asking too much,' Kaia admitted inwardly. 'Alright, guess I'll spoil him just this once,' she finally caved, rolling her eyes a little in her mind.
Thinking so, Kaia picked up her fork, grabbed a pork rib, and held it right up to Tobias's lips. "Come on, open up," she said.
Tobias knew Kaia's patience had its limits, so he didn't push her—he just took the rib right off her fork and savored it, his eyes lighting up with contentment. "Food from you is always the best, honey."
Then, he grabbed a piece of sweet and sour fish for Kaia, making sure it was perfectly boneless. "Here, you should try some too."
"Okay." Kaia didn't hesitate, taking the fish and having a bite.
After a few minutes of eating, Tobias suddenly piped up with a mischievous glint in his eye. "Honey, how about we get engaged all over again?"
Kaia blinked, clearly caught off guard. 'What kind of game is he playing now?' she wondered. "Get engaged again?" she repeated, sounding completely bewildered.
Tobias nodded seriously. "Yep, let's do it for real this time. What's the matter, honey? Are you backing out on me?"
Kaia frowned softly. "But didn't we already get engaged?"
"Yeah, we did. But that whole thing was way too rushed—honestly, it barely even counted. Just our families, no one else, the place felt pretty empty. This time, I want to go big and invite everyone: friends, family, basically the whole Morganburg scene. I'm talking about the kind of engagement party people will still be gossiping about years from now! And after that? We'll pick out the perfect day for the wedding, make it truly unforgettable," Tobias declared, his eyes brimming with excitement.
"It's just an engagement party. Isn't that kinda over the top?" Kaia teased, raising an eyebrow at him.
"You think that's over the top? Just wait till the wedding—I'm gonna buy us an entire island someday and fill it to the brim with all your favorite flowers. Can you picture it? The ultimate romantic getaway… it'll be the kind of memory we'll talk about for a lifetime," Tobias said, grinning wider.
"You keep making these grand plans over and over. Honestly, I'm getting sick of hearing about it," Kaia huffed, clearly exasperated.
"Come on, seriously, this is a huge deal! How can you get tired of something like this? Shouldn't we be celebrating?" Tobias said, looking genuinely puzzled.
Kaia pressed her lips together, thought for a second, then finally said, "Let's just not bother with the whole engagement thing."
At that, Tobias's eyes dimmed and his grin slipped away. 'Kaia's already agreed to be with me, so why is she still hesitant about getting engaged?' Tobias frowned inwardly, genuinely puzzled.
'Could it be that she's just with me because I saved her? Is she only sticking by because she feels guilty? Looks like I've got my work cut out for me if I really want to win her over,' Tobias thought, a new resolve stirring inside him.
Just then, Kaia spoke up, her voice steady and sure. "How about we just get married?" she said, straight to the point.
Tobias's brain seemed to short-circuit for a second—then that gloomy look vanished, replaced by pure, electrified joy. "Y-You're serious? You want to marry me, just like that?" he stammered, literally tripping over his words from excitement.
He was so flustered he could barely form a sentence, and Kaia just shook her head and laughed helplessly at his reaction.
