When everyone heard Griffin swear so fiercely, they started second-guessing themselves. 'He's swearing on his life, so is he lying or not?'
Enraged, Judith glared at Kaia. "My son has sworn such a vicious oath, and you still refuse to admit you seduced him!"
Kaia was genuinely surprised that Griffin had the guts to swear like that. But facing this kind of shameless troublemaker, she wasn't intimidated at all.
"If swearing solved anything, why would we need the police?" she shot back.
"You... You... Even now, you're still trying to talk your way out of this. Do you think anyone will believe you?" Judith's chest heaved with anger.
Just then, Joel stepped forward. "I have evidence that Griffin was the one trying to make a move on Miss Bennett."
Tobias narrowed his keen eyes, sizing up Joel.
"You have evidence? What kind of evidence? Go on, show us! If you really have it, let's see it! My son is innocent. He's sworn on his life. I want to see what you can prove today!" Judith retorted.
Joel unlocked his phone and played back the recording from just now.
The audio was crystal clear. Griffin was obviously the one who hit on Kaia first.
Judith fell silent, her mouth hanging open in shock.
Jameson looked like he wanted to disappear from embarrassment.
Griffin shot daggers at Joel, seething with rage. 'This damn bodyguard ruined everything!' he fumed to himself.
"Ahem!" Keaton walked over, glaring at Griffin. "You little punk! Chasing girls and partying all day is bad enough, but now you even dare to hit on your cousin's fiancée?"
"Grandpa, I'm sorry! Please forgive me. I just lost my head for a second. Besides, I thought Tobias didn't even like Miss Bennett. Didn't you want her to be your granddaughter-in-law? If Tobias doesn't want her, then I'll gladly step up!" Griffin said, smugly thinking he was being clever.
Tobias's face grew even darker.
Keaton smacked Griffin with his cane. "You bastard! Even now, you're still talking nonsense!"
Griffin howled in pain, but even then, he still wouldn't give up.
"Grandpa, that's not fair! Tobias and I are both your grandsons. Why does he get to marry Kaia, but I can't?" he complained.
"You? Do you even deserve her? Have you even looked at yourself? You're not even fit to touch a single strand of her hair! If I ever tried to set you up with Kaia, I'd be throwing her straight into the fire!" Keaton snapped.
"Grandpa, how can you say that about me? Kaia was just a top scorer on the SAT, so what?" Griffin shot back, unconvinced.
"Just a top scorer? You don't know a damn thing!" Keaton barked.
'Yeah, yeah, I don't know a damn thing,' Griffin grumbled to himself.
Griffin could tell Keaton was really pissed off, and if he kept arguing, things would only get worse.
Keaton turned to Tobias's parents. "You two, take him home and teach him a damn lesson. He's not leaving the house for a month!"
Judith, still fuming and wanting to protest, was cut off by Jameson.
"Let's just take Griffin home first. We can talk about it later," he said.
'Spineless!' Judith shot him a withering glare. 'If it weren't for that damn bodyguard's recording, there's no way she would've let this slide today.'
The banquet ended early thanks to all that drama.
"Damn it! It's all because of that bodyguard!" Griffin exploded the second he got home.
