"Mr. Moreno, don't be mad. How about I round up a few guys to give that bodyguard a real beating?" one of his lackeys suggested.
"Good! Get me a whole crew—beat him to a pulp and cripple him if you have to! And make sure you find the best of the best. Tobias's bodyguard isn't easy to handle. Wait, forget bodyguards—go hire some real killers," Griffin ordered.
"Yes, Mr. Moreno. I'll get it done right away," the lackey replied.

Joel was about to get in the car, but Tobias held him back.
"You go back with Devin," he said.
Joel immediately glanced at Kaia, who shot him a subtle signal.
Their exchange lasted only a split second, but Tobias's sharp eyes didn't miss a thing.
"Get in the car," Tobias said, opening the door.
"Thanks," Kaia said politely before sliding into the passenger seat.
Joel kept his eyes fixed on the car as it disappeared down the road, only turning away when the taillights faded into the night, a hint of worry lingering in his gaze.
Devin slapped Joel on the back. "Damn, you were quick on your feet today. If it weren't for you, this whole mess would've been a lot harder to deal with."
"I'm Miss Bennett's bodyguard. It's my job," Joel replied.
"It's still early. How about we grab a beer?" Devin suggested.
"No, thanks," Joel said.
"Come on, don't be so polite. You're the new guy. I should be looking out for you. Besides, I do admire you. Let's go!" Devin insisted, pulling Joel along.
Suddenly, Joel stopped in his tracks. Devin halted as well, and the two locked eyes for a moment.
"You noticed it too?" Devin asked.
Joel kept walking. "Don't let them know we're onto them."
"When did you figure it out?" Devin asked, clearly curious. Joel seemed to have spotted the tail before he did.
"Just now," Joel replied, knowing exactly what Devin was thinking.
"Do you think they're after you or me?" Devin asked.
Joel racked his brain, trying to remember if he'd pissed anyone off lately. With all the boxing matches he'd been in, he'd made plenty of enemies.
'Could it be someone I pissed off at the last International Boxing Competition?' he wondered.
As he thought, Joel started walking toward a more secluded area.
"Get them!" The killers lurking in the shadows saw the coast was clear and leapt out, surrounding their targets.
Joel scanned the circle of attackers closing in. He did a quick headcount—fifteen, and every single one was an elite fighter.
"Looks like we've got killers on our hands," Devin muttered, back-to-back with Joel.
"Spot on," Joel replied, eyes narrowing.
Before they could say another word, the killers rushed in.
They split into two groups—one to hold Devin off, the other going straight for Joel with deadly intent.
'They're after him,' Devin thought, frowning. 'But who's targeting him?'
Anyone sharp enough to work alongside Tobias wasn't clueless. It didn't take Devin long to guess who was behind this.
"Watch out!" Devin shouted to Joel.
With a loud thud, Joel smashed his fist into one of the killers, the impact echoing through the alley.
The killer who took the blow felt like he'd been hit by a speeding train.
Blood sprayed from his mouth with a sickening splatter.
'Damn, that's impressive!' Devin thought, realizing Joel's punch was even stronger than his own.
Before he could finish his thought, Joel had already taken down several more attackers.
'Damn, he's good!' Devin thought, impressed.
Just then, a killer suddenly sprang out from the bushes behind Joel.
Joel was locked in a fierce fight with two killers right in front of him.
"Watch your back!" Devin shouted.
