The next day, just after Kaia got out of bed, she received a call from Gavyn.
"Kaia, we've just filmed a fight scene. The director isn't sure if it's right and asked me to call you, the original author, to come take a look," Gavyn said.
"Okay, wait for me. I just woke up. I'll get changed and head over right away." Kaia got out of bed and went to the bathroom to wash up.
Gavyn chuckled. "No rush, Kaia. Take your time. We can work on other scenes while we wait for you."
"Alright." Kaia agreed and hung up.
Half an hour later, Kaia's car pulled up at the entrance of the film set.
The director came out personally to greet her. "Kaia, thank goodness you're here! Please, help me out. How do we shoot this fight scene so it's got that same wow factor as your novel? I've filmed it a bunch of times, but I can't get the vibe right."
"Let me watch a run-through first. I'll know what to tweak once I see it," Kaia said as she took a seat in front of the camera.
"Alright," the director shouted, grabbing a megaphone. "Everyone, get ready! We're retaking the scene in five minutes."
"Copy that," the cast called out.
The actors all responded in unison, then headed off to the side to get themselves ready.
In a corner, a few extras glanced at Kaia and began whispering among themselves.
"So that's the literary giant Amara Moonriver? She looks so young and beautiful."
"Yeah, her writing style is so mature, I always thought she'd be older. Never imagined she'd be younger than me."
"She could easily rely on her looks, but she relies on talent instead. It's truly admirable."
Amid the murmurs, Gavyn approached Kaia with a bag of breakfast. "Kaia, you came straight after waking up, you probably haven't had breakfast yet, right? The bread from this place is pretty good. Try it."
Kaia really had skipped breakfast in her rush, so she just smiled and gratefully accepted Gavyn's offer.
"Thanks," she said.
The director, watching from the side, added, "Yes, please eat your breakfast first. I'll give them a few more minutes to prepare."
"It's fine." Kaia finished her breakfast quickly. "Let everyone get into position and perform the scene for me so I can make adjustments."
"Understood," the actors replied all together, moving into their positions.
However, facing Kaia, everyone was inevitably a bit nervous, including Gavyn, who all wanted to present the best version of their characters.
Kaia noticed the nerves and teased, "Why are you all so tense? Do I look like I'm gonna eat you alive or something?"
Everyone glanced in Kaia's direction.
Her face was stunningly beautiful, beyond words—certainly not someone who bit.
They just really wanted to impress Kaia.
She said, "Don't be nervous. Just treat me like an ordinary crew member. Although I'm the original author, completing the portrayal of the characters in this work relies on our collective efforts. I'm here to help you improve, so please don't stiffen up.
"Show me your normal performance; that's the only way I can identify the issues. Once the problems are solved, won't it be easier for all of us?"
