"Dad, Mom, why are your ideas still so conservative? Lots of people outside dress like this now." As she spoke, she smiled radiantly at Tobias. "Tobias, isn't that right?"
Tobias glanced at her coldly, pressed his thin lips together, and didn't respond.
He was always like this, so Grace didn't mind and sat down in the spot next to him.
Grace asked, "Tobias, aren't you usually very busy? What brings you here to see me? But your timing is perfect, it's almost mealtime. The chef is cooking in the kitchen. I'll go tell the kitchen to add a few more of your favorite dishes later. You should stay and have a casual meal with us."
Ezekiel had the same idea. He chimed in warmly, "Exactly, Tobias. Dinner's almost ready. Join our family for a meal tonight."
Tobias smoothly edged away from Grace, a chill settling over him that warned everyone to keep their distance.
"There's no need for a meal. I came here to resolve something with Grace," Tobias replied.
Grace was overjoyed. 'Just as I thought. Tobias really is here to apologize and ask for my forgiveness.'
A blush crept across her cheeks, her eyes filled with bashful anticipation. "Tobias, that matter isn't urgent. It's not too late to talk about it after eating."
Although she was looking forward to Tobias apologizing and saying nice things to her, that would happen sooner or later. There was no need to rush this moment.
After all, just sitting at the same table as Tobias was already a dream come true.
"Dinner? Grace, after everything you've done, how can you even have the nerve to ask me to sit down and eat with you?" Tobias snapped, tossing a file folder down in front of her. "Everything is inside. See for yourself."
Grace's face changed slightly. She instinctively felt that this thing was unfavorable to her and hesitated to open it. "Tobias... what... what do you mean?"
"Open it," Tobias said, looking at her expressionlessly.
Seeing she couldn't refuse, Grace had no choice but to take the document envelope and slowly open it.
When she saw the first page contained information about hiring online trolls to attack Kaia online, her face suddenly changed dramatically, and a trace of panic flashed in her eyes, but she quickly covered it up.
She continued reading further, growing more and more alarmed with each page.
Those few minutes were pure torture; Grace was agonizing.
But she knew she had to play dumb, no matter what. "Tobias, what is this thing you're showing me? I don't really understand it."
Ezekiel, remembering what Tobias had said when he threw this thing out, vaguely sensed something was wrong. "Grace, let me see that document."
Grace, afraid of being found out, pretended to be calm and composed as she handed the document to Ezekiel.
Ezekiel took the document and quickly noticed something abnormal.
Delilah, who had leaned in to look with him, also saw it. "That's strange? Why is there a three-million-dollar fund flowing out from our branch company here?"
Although three million dollars wasn't much for their large Adkins family, it was a significant amount for a small branch company.
'What was the branch manager thinking, approving a transfer that huge out of the blue?' Ezekiel fumed.
Remembering Tobias's earlier words again, Ezekiel and Delilah both turned their gazes to Grace. "Grace, what's going on with this money? Did you do this?"
Grace maintained an innocent expression on her face. "Mom, Dad, I really don't know what this is about."
Tobias glanced at her coldly, pressed his thin lips together, and didn't respond.
