Kaia crossed her arms and glanced sideways at Tobias. "I don't want to deal with this nonsense. You handle it."
"Alright." Tobias agreed indulgently.
With that, Tobias tore his gaze away from Kaia and turned to Mason, his stare instantly sharpening.
"This time, I can forgive you for your father's sake, given our past business. But if there is a next time, I will make you understand the consequences of poor judgment," Tobias said.
Mason nodded repeatedly, terrified that a second's delay would provoke Tobias's wrath. "I... I understand, Mr. Moreno. I... I guarantee something like this will never happen again. Thank you... Thank you for your magnanimity, for not holding it against me."
Tobias stared coldly at him for a long moment. "Get lost."
"Yes, yes, Mr. Moreno! We're leaving right now!" Mason hurriedly waved at Luke and Charlie, and the three of them vanished from sight as quickly as possible.
Tobias merely glanced in the direction they had fled before turning back, taking Kaia's hand, and leading her towards the hot spring resort. "Tired from the trip, Kaia? Let's relax in the hot springs."
"Sounds good." Kaia stretched. "Sitting in the car all morning has me feeling stiff. A soak will help loosen up."
"I've already made all the arrangements. We can go straight in." Tobias led Kaia through a long corridor to the innermost hot spring room.
When the door opened, Kaia was momentarily stunned by the sight. "When did you prepare all this?"
The room was filled with vibrant, fresh roses surrounding the hot spring pool. Mist rose gently from the water, creating an ethereal, dreamlike atmosphere, as if they had stepped into a fairyland.
"I had Devin set it up on our way here." Tobias looked at Kaia, his eyes filled with tenderness. "Do you like it?"
Kaia nodded in approval. "Yeah, it's quite nice."
Receiving her approval filled Tobias with indescribable joy. "Then you start soaking. I'll go prepare the aromatic oil massage."
"Aromatic oil massage?" Kaia's beautiful eyes swept over him meaningfully. "You're not plotting something devious again, are you?"
Tobias wore an innocent expression. "Kaia, you're wronging me this time. The aromatic oil massage is a specialty of the Pioneer Retreat. I thought since we're here, we should experience it. If you're not willing, that's fine. I won't force you."
Kaia studied his face carefully. Seeing him look completely serious, she partly believed him. "Alright, go prepare it. I'll start soaking."
A gleam of triumph flashed in Tobias's eyes. "Good, I'll be right back."
Watching him leave, Kaia took the clothes from the cabinet, changed into them, and stepped into the hot spring.
The water temperature was perfect and incredibly comfortable.
She closed her eyes, a look of pure enjoyment on her exquisite face.
Tobias returned with the massage oil. The sight that greeted him made his throat tighten and his Adam's apple bob uncontrollably. "Kaia, you look so beautiful like this."
Kaia couldn't help but roll her eyes. She slowly opened her eyes and shot him a glare. "Are you saying I only look good like this? That I don't look good other times?"
It was the kind of trick question that could land him in real trouble if he gave the wrong answer.
"Alright." Tobias agreed indulgently.
