Tobias slowly let go of Kaia, his eyes full of deep affection as he stared straight at her.
"Kaia, you know, to me, you're like fate's biggest surprise—my precious gift. You've brought me so much happiness, just being able to see you makes my whole day.
"That's why I'm scared... scared that someday fate might take you away from me, and I won't get to see you anymore. I really... I really don't wanna lose you," he said, his voice shaky with emotion.
There was a hint of red in his eyes, and Kaia could hear the raw fear in his usually smooth voice—he was truly terrified of losing her.
Feeling how uneasy he was, Kaia reached out and wrapped her arms around him, softly patting his shoulder to calm him down.
"Come on, where's that fearless boss who always has the business world eating out of his hand? Does being with me really mess up your confidence?" Kaia said, her tone playful, trying to lighten the mood.
Even someone as strong as Tobias sometimes lost his sense of security when he was around her.
But honestly, when it came to relationships, Kaia was no expert herself—she never really knew how to comfort him when he got like this.
"It's just because I like you way too much—so much that I wish I could shrink you down and keep you in my pocket, so I could take you everywhere with me," Tobias said, resting his forehead against hers.
"And seriously, you're just too amazing. No matter where you go, it's like there's always a crowd of admirers buzzing around you. I worry that if I take my eyes off you even for a moment, someone might snatch you away," he added, his voice full of worry.
Kaia was genuinely surprised—Tobias always seemed so strong and unbreakable around others, but deep down, he was incredibly vulnerable when it came to her.
To be fair, she wasn't totally innocent here either.
After all, Tobias was always the one making moves; she just kept playing it safe and let him take the lead.
Maybe that's exactly why he was constantly worried he might lose her.
Thinking this, Kaia reached out, intertwining her fingers with Tobias's—her grip extra gentle and tender, a softness he'd never heard from her before as she replied to him.
"I totally understand how you feel, but I want you to be more confident in yourself. I trust my judgment, and when I choose something, it's always because I believe it's the best—and that's you.
"If you weren't strong, exceptional, and loved me so much, why would I ever say yes to you? You may see me as unique and irreplaceable, but did you know? You're just as one-of-a-kind to me, too.
"Since I've chosen you, there's no way I'd ever give up on you for someone else. So stop worrying, because I promise, I'll never leave you," she spoke, her voice softer than ever.
Kaia had never been good with sweet talk, but she knew sometimes you had to say what was in your heart—otherwise, the ones you truly care about would always feel unsure and insecure.
Tobias was so touched by Kaia's words that for a moment, he was completely speechless—the lump in his throat making it impossible to say anything at all.
He wrapped her in a tight embrace, his arms trembling as he held her close, unable to hide how deeply her words had shaken him.
Seeing how much he was moved, Kaia gave him a gentle smile and leaned her head gently against his shoulder.
"Tobias, you know what, all my life, no one's ever taken the time to plan so many surprises just for me. Everything you've done... it really means a lot. Thank you," she said, her voice gentle.
