"Come on, do we really have to say thank you to each other? I'm already yours, and anything I do for you just feels right. Honestly, making you happy is what I want most," Tobias said, eyes so soft they practically glowed with warmth.
Her heart felt warm, and that gentle smile never left Kaia's lips.
"You've given me so many surprises, so I've got a surprise for you too," she said, her voice soft and full of warmth.
Tobias's eyes lit up—he honestly hadn't expected Kaia to have a surprise for him too.
"Seriously? Kaia, you've actually got a surprise for me? I'm dying to know—what is it?" he asked, his voice bubbling with excitement.
Kaia saw just how excited he was, her lips curling into a small, playful smile as she said, "Close your eyes first."
Catching on to her tone, Tobias's eyes lit up even more, a hint of anticipation sparkling in them.
"Kaia, are you gonna kiss me now?" he asked with a teasing grin, sounding hopeful.
"Keep dreaming," Kaia deadpanned, rolling her eyes at him. "Just close your eyes, or no surprise for you."
"Alright, alright, I'm closing my eyes right now," Tobias said, his voice full of eagerness.
But even as he said that, he couldn't resist one last tease before shutting his eyes.
"Kaia, if you really want to kiss me, just say it—no need to be shy," he teased, a playful grin on his lips.
Kaia couldn't help but laugh at his antics. "Quit messing around and close your eyes already!"
"Alright, I'm really closing them this time," Tobias said, slowly shutting his eyes.
"No peeking!" Kaia reminded him with a grin as she spun around and started digging through her bag.
It didn't take her long to fish out a fancy, well-wrapped jewelry box.
Turning back to Tobias, Kaia saw he was still sitting there with his eyes tightly shut like she'd told him—she couldn't help but feel a little satisfied at how obedient he was.
'Look at him, actually following instructions for once,' Kaia thought, an amused smile appearing on her lips.
Kaia curved her lips in a mischievous smile, softly drawing Tobias's hand toward her. With delicate care, she took out a ring from the jewelry box and gently slid it onto his ring finger, her fingers trembling just a little with anticipation.
The second Tobias felt the cool touch of metal on his finger, a jolt ran through him—he instantly knew what Kaia had given him. His heart was pounding, excitement surging like crashing waves in his chest.
He could barely contain himself, but since Kaia hadn't spoken yet, all he could do was desperately hold back. His voice shook with emotion as he asked, "Kaia... can I open my eyes now?"
"Go ahead, open them," Kaia said softly without missing a beat.
Tobias's eyelids fluttered, and for a moment, he found himself too nervous to open his eyes.
He was scared it was all just his imagination—and that the moment he opened his eyes, everything would disappear.
Kaia noticed his hesitation and gently patted his shoulder.
"Hey, open your eyes already. What are you standing there spacing out for?" she encouraged, her tone gentle.
Hearing Kaia's voice, Tobias finally opened his eyes, his gaze immediately dropping to his ring finger.
He'd guessed Kaia was giving him a ring, but actually seeing it there made pure joy explode inside him. His grin stretched wider and wider, happiness flooding through him so intensely he could hardly breathe—it felt almost unreal.
"Kaia, you actually gave me a ring? Am I dreaming? Is this actually happening?" Tobias stammered, still barely able to believe it.
He was so overwhelmed with joy he couldn't even find the words—his heart was racing, overflowing with happiness.
"Of course it's real. I'm standing right here in front of you. How could this possibly be a dream?" Kaia said softly, her voice gentle as she brushed her fingers across the ring on Tobias's hand, a rare warmth shining in her eyes.
"I made this ring just for you. I picked out the materials, sketched every detail, and crafted it myself from start to finish. So you'd better treasure it—don't even think about losing it," she teased, her affection unmistakable.
