"What are you doing?" she exclaimed, sounding totally scandalized. "Getting all frisky in broad daylight?"
Sure, it was daytime and there was hardly anyone around, but Tobias was being way too bold—like he didn't care who might see.
Even though she'd long since gotten used to his wild side, seeing him strip down out of nowhere still caught Kaia off guard. She couldn't help but feel a jolt of shock.
Tobias just looked at her, totally innocent, like he didn't see what the big deal was.
"My legs got bitten too. Can you put some on them as well?" he said, completely unfazed.
Kaia's lips twitched in disbelief, then she shot Tobias a look down below, her eyes practically screaming, 'Are you for real right now?'
Seeing her clam up, Tobias edged closer, clearly trying to get a rise out of her.
"Aren't doctors supposed to be professional? Why so shy suddenly?" Tobias grinned, teasing her shamelessly.
"I swear, where do you even come up with this stuff?" Kaia rolled her eyes, nearly tossing them into orbit.
"I'll take care of your legs, but the rest—you're on your own," she said, making it clear there was no room for negotiation.
"My legs?" Tobias said, eyes flashing with a sly glint.
"So, Kaia, which leg do you want to rub this ointment on?" he asked, his tone playful and suggestive.
Kaia caught onto the innuendo and, totally deadpan, just smacked his butt with her ointment-covered hand.
"Well, do you want me to do this or not?" she asked, half-annoyed.
Realizing it was time to dial it down, Tobias decided to stop teasing before he really crossed a line.
"Go ahead, Kaia. Of course I want you to. You're the expert," he said, flashing a charming grin.
"Smartass," Kaia muttered, too exasperated to even bother arguing.
Still, she took her time, making sure to gently dab ointment over every last bite on his legs.
'Honestly, this guy is nothing but trouble,' Kaia thought, shaking her head.
After a few minutes, once she was done rubbing in the ointment, Tobias got up and started gathering their things.
Kaia caught sight of the Maybach racing toward them from a distance, then turned to hasten Tobias.
"Come on, hurry up—Devin'll be here any minute," she urged.
Tobias quickly stuffed everything into his bag, zipped it up, and shot Kaia a playful look, raising his brows.
"All done! Not bad, huh? I'm pretty handy, right?" he said, clearly proud of himself.
"Seriously, are you five or something? Do you really need me to praise you for this?" Kaia said, rolling her eyes.
Tobias just grinned, totally unfazed. "Of course I do! When you praise me, it makes me feel like I can conquer the world, and it puts me in the best mood ever."
Kaia gave an exaggerated sigh, rolling her eyes as if she were babysitting, but decided to just go along with his childish antics.
"Okay. Here's your praise. You're the absolute best, the king of the world, satisfied?" she tossed back, half-joking and half fed up.
Tobias practically beamed, his smile stretching from ear to ear, looking absolutely over the moon.
"See, Kaia? You're just too sweet to me. Ask for a compliment, and I get it instantly!" he teased, obviously basking in her attention.
Kaia sucked in a breath, fighting the urge to smack him upside the head, and just glared at him in silent outrage.
'He really has always needed reassurance, hasn't he? Maybe showering him with a few extra praises is just another way to help him feel secure,' Kaia mused, softening a little as she considered Tobias's feelings.
As they talked, the limited-edition Maybach pulled up and came to a gentle stop nearby.
Devin got out, took the luggage from Tobias, and neatly stowed it in the trunk.
"Mr. Moreno, Miss Bennett, are we heading back now, or would you rather take a stroll through the village first?" Devin asked.
Tobias glanced over at Kaia with a playful smirk. "So, Kaia, what's your take? Do you wanna check out the village nearby, or should we just hang around and soak up a little more alone time?"
After last night, things between them had heated up big time. If they stuck around a bit longer, who knows—maybe they'd get lucky and make a baby right here, following in the footsteps of Devin's cousin and his wife.
