"Kaia, you and Tobias will regret this. I swear, I'll make you wish you'd never treated me like this!" Grace shrieked, voice trembling and full of venom.
Kaia had had enough. She seized Grace by the collar and, towering at 5.9 feet, hauled her straight up off the floor.
"Grace, I've warned you. Don't tempt fate! If it weren't for the years of friendship between your family and the Moreno family, do you really think I would've let you get away with this for so long?" Kaia spat, her voice cold and dangerous.
Meeting Kaia's gaze—cold enough to freeze her soul—Grace felt like she'd just dropped straight into hell.
"You... Let go of me! Let go of..." Grace's voice shook, the words barely making it out.
Before she could finish, Kaia slammed her straight onto the floor.
"Suit yourself," Kaia said, her voice icy with warning.
With that, she turned on her heel and strode off, leaving Grace in the dust.
Feeling all those strange looks from the people around, Grace just wanted to crawl into a hole and disappear.
'Damn Kaia, making me lose face like this!' she fumed inwardly.
'I swear, I won't let this slide!' she vowed to herself.

Devin kept glancing at his watch, pacing around like a cat on a hot tin roof.
"Mr. Moreno, Keaton's almost back from the hospital, and we still haven't gotten our hands on that painting! What are we supposed to do?" Devin fretted.
Just imagining Keaton blowing his top sent a chill down Devin's spine.
Tobias's brows were tightly drawn together, a subtle trace of worry flickering in his eyes.
"Looks like I'll have to come clean to Grandpa," he said, resignation heavy in his tone.
He hated that things had come to this, but at this point, there was no other way out.
Devin scratched his head, really wracking his brains as he tried to come up with something for Tobias.
"Mr. Moreno, same as before—why don't we just find a fake painting to calm Mr. Moreno down for now? That'll buy us some time, and when we finally get the real one from Grace, we can just swap it in," Devin said.
Tobias shook his head. "Forget it. I told you already—Grandpa's way too sharp. He'd spot a fake in seconds," Tobias replied, his tone firm.
"Then what are we supposed to do? I can totally see Keaton going ballistic when he sees what's happened to his beloved painting!" Devin's face was drawn tight with worry.
But right now, freaking out wouldn't help. All they could do was pray that Keaton didn't go nuclear when he found out.
Just as they were at their wits' end, the butler came rushing in from outside, calling out to Tobias in a hurry. "Mr. Moreno..."
Tobias turned around, noticing the butler was sweating bullets. He frowned in confusion. "What's got you in such a rush?"
The butler patted his chest, catching his breath before stammering, "Someone just delivered a painting."
Just the mention of "painting" was the last thing Tobias wanted to hear right now. His reply came out with a heavy, frustrated edge in his voice.
"I don't care about any other paintings at the moment. Just toss it in the warehouse," Tobias said, clearly fed up.
He assumed it was probably another family trying to kiss up to him, sending gifts as usual.
But honestly, all that mattered to him now was the one by Faye. Anything else was useless—it couldn't solve his real crisis.
The butler saw Tobias brushing it off like it was nothing, and got so worked up he couldn't even get a word out—just stood there, sweating and struggling to say something.
Noticing the butler seemed strangely agitated, Tobias narrowed his eyes and asked, "What is it? Something else on your mind?"
The butler finally couldn't hold it in anymore and blurted it out.
"B-but the person who delivered it said... It's one of Faye's paintings!"
"What?" Tobias's eyes widened sharply, his voice urgent. "Are you for real?"
"I honestly don't know, sir. That's just what the delivery guy claimed..." The butler was way out of his depth when it came to stuff like this—he just heard Tobias was desperate for a Faye painting, so as soon as he caught wind of it, he sprinted over to deliver the news.
"Let me have a look," Devin said, quickly snatching the painting from the butler's hands and spreading it out.
Tobias stared at it, and the moment he noticed the cat, he was momentarily stunned.
