"I'm clear." Lance spoke through his helmet. He'd been sent in the Galra ship alone despite various protest by Keith. He didn't know why the boy was so against the idea of a solo mission, he was guessing it was because Keith didn't think he was strong or smart enough.
'Keith always one-ups me, but this time, I'll show him.' Lance thought. He was standing in a room where a large energy source was being picked up yet there was nothing. The room was empty.
"Lance, what's giving off the energy?" Shiro asked.
"Nothing, there's nothing in here." Lance said. "I'm getting out of here, it's probably trap." He ran toward the doors and they shut with no signs of reopening. "Guys the doors shut! I can't get out!" He exclaimed.
"Lance! Find a way out! Air vents, anything!" Keith cut in pushing Shiro out of the way and taking control to help the boy.
Lance looked around again. "Nothing is-" He was cut off by the room glowing purple so bright he couldn't stand it.
"Lance! Lance!" Keith yelled hoping for a response. All that came through was snow. Keith took off for the red lion. No one could protest or stop him because he was already gone.
They watched as the red lion made it to the ship tearing its way through it. Keith got inside and sliced through the doors to find Lances armor in a pile on the ground. No sign of Lance. Keith walked in slowly and fell to his knees in front of the armor.
"Lance, I'm so sorry." He said quietly. He felt tears run down his face. He hadn't cried since his dad died.
The pile in the ground began to move and confusion washed over the boy. He dug through it and found a baby.
It was Lance. "What the hell happened to you?" He held him up and the baby stared at him in fascination with big blue eyes.
Keith was conflicted. To be fair anybody would if their crush had just been turned into a baby, literally.
Keith did what he knew to help despite the confusing situation. He grabbed Lances armor and held Lance carefully against him. He felt so fragile.
He ran to red and climbed inside throwing Lances things by his chair. He sat down sitting Lance in his lap clicking the belt over him.
(Stay safe, wear your seat belt)
Lance's head was racing. Was he really a baby? Had Keith really been crying? The boy cared about him and that was enough to set his mind at ease for the time being. The others better be able to fix this.
Keith shot down the hall in the castle of lions and what the paladins saw was something they never could've prepared for, not in their wildest dreams.
"Is that Lance?!" Allura exclaimed.
"Oh my goo, it is." Hunk said bewildered.
"Fix him." Keith handed Lance off to Pidge. The held him awkwardly making the young boy uncomfortable. He hated this so much. His emotions took over him with no control he began to cry.
"Quiznack! Take him back!" Pidge exclaimed trying to hand him back. Keith held up his hands rejecting him.
"Fix. Him." Keith repeated.
"Damn, Shiro take him!" Pidge gave Lance to the spacedad.
Lance continued to cry. "Hunk!" They handed him off again.
"Lancey Lance! Goochy goochy goo!" Hunk said soothingly. Lance stopped for a split second then screamed crying once again.
'I failed the mission and now I'm a baby! I'm going to be stuck like this forever.' Lance thought fueling the fire of him crying.
Allura was then handed him. She rocked him awkwardly and Keith rolled his eyes. "You're all holding him wrong!" He carefully took Lance back holding him sweetly making small bouncing motions.
'Oh my gosh, is Keith actually doing this?' Lance thought trying not to laugh. It was enough to distract Lance from the failed mission and he quickly forgot all about it. He couldn't help but think how funny it was that Keith was like a mom.
Lance let out a little giggle smiling. They all watched in amazement at how good Keith was with Lance.
Pidge began to laugh at Keith shot her a death glare. "Bite me hobbit." He snapped and Lance giggled again.
"Aww! He's so cute!" Hunk mused.
"No one is talking about the fact that Lances likes Keith better than us." Pidge said folding her arms. She didn't want to admit it, none of them did, that they wanted attention from the baby. After years in space without sight of a human baby, who could blame them?
"Don't be crazy Pidge, Lance doesn't like Keith better. Watch." Shiro walked to Keith extending his arms requesting for the child.
Keith just looked at him holding Lance closer. Shiro raised his eyebrows and Keith sighed handing him the baby reluctantly.
Shiro held him making sure to hold up his head. Lance was silent for a moment or two but looked over at Keith reaching out his tiny arms for the boy.
Keith smirked triumphantly. Lance did like him better. "I'll just take him ba-."
"Wait." Shiro said taking a deep breath. "Who's a good Lance?!~" He spoke in his best baby voice and he was hella good at it.
'He did not just talk to me like that.' Lance thought, he held back a laugh. Suddenly a great idea hit him. He began to cry.
"Geez Shiro! You're scaring him!" Keith took the little Lance back hugging him while bouncing up and down.
He immediately stopped. It was no longer coincidence. Lance liked Keith better. They all looked at the tiny man child hurt.
Lance wasn't paying attention, Keith's hair was tickling his face. He eyed it carefully focusing as hard as he could reaching for it. As Keith talked to the others, his head moved making it difficult for him to grab the raven locks.
He finally got a tiny fist full of mullet accidentally pulling. "Ow!" Keith yelped more surprised than hurt. Keith pulled his hair away.
Lance welled up with tears causing panic to rise in Keith and he let his hair fall back. Lance let out a happy noise getting his tiny hands tangled it it.
'Man, This has got to be getting on his nerves!' Lance thought devilishly. None of the paladins knew it but the person who seemed to be the most harmless and innocent was perhaps the most cruel.
Pidge promised to breathe, sleep, and eat, research for a possible cure. Hunk agreeing to help her while the others decide the best root of action as one of their paladins was unable to pilot. That left Keith to watch Lance.
Keith raised an eyebrow at the boy, "Hungry?"
Lance just looked up at him with big blue eyes and was carried off to the kitchen. He actually kind of liked being a baby. He got carried everywhere, the best view of Keith, to be close to Keith and not to mention see his mom side.
Keith stepped in walking to the kitchen grabbing a tray. He put a large glob of goo on it and pulled out a spoon.
He set Lance down in a chair and turned his so they were directly across from each other. Lance sat limply unable to hold himself up much. Keith looked so cute mixing together the goo with a slight frown.
Keith kept thinking about how he cried when he thought he lost Lance. It almost still feels like he had. He looked up at the baby. How does he even know that's the same flirtatious goofy Lance he always has been. Even so, what if he's stuck like that, he'd have to grow up all over again, that's assuming he'll grow up. Keith would technically be too old for him.
He held out a spoon full of the green jello like substance and Lance gave him the 'are you serious' face.
Maybe there was some Lance in there after all. He laughed a little to himself.
The goo fell off the spoon onto the floor and he stopped himself from cursing. He stood up to leave and grab a towel but quickly set Lance on the floor in case. It's better than him falling off the chair.
He ran to get a cloth to clean up the mess and when he came back there was Lance standing at a whopping two almost 3 feet tall Lance. Keith could guess he was about two and a half or three now.
"Keithy!" The boy raised his arms wanting to be picked up. "I want spasgeddy!" He said mispronouncing spaghetti.
"Oh, um, alright." Keith said mostly in shock. "Let me get this mess cleaned up and we'll ask Hunk." Keith didn't dare touch any of the boy's cooking utensils out of fear of him coming unstrung. Besides, Keith never was much of a cook and Hunk loved it so much.
Keith got on his hands and knees wiping up the goo as Lance ran around the room as quick as his little legs could take him (which wasn't very fast in Keith's opinion). "I wanna play!" He yelled.
Keith chuckled at the ball of energy. He swooped down snatching the boy up tickling him. He'd always secretly been good with kids in a way. "I thought you wanted spaghetti?"
"I want both!" The boy giggled.
Lance was cute ever since he was little, that's for sure. "Alright." Keith set the boy down and held his hand as they 'raced' to the research room to find Hunk Keith having to go extremely slow for Lances little legs to keep up.
They got to the room but Lance kept running. Keith poked his head inside, "Lance wants spaghetti, could you make some? Wait! Hey-!" He then ran off after the said boy before Hunk could get a word in.
"Find me!" He heard Lance call from the lounge.
He walked in inspecting every possible hiding place carefully. He knew Lance was behind the couch from his muffled giggles he couldn't contain. "I can't find Lance anywhere!" He exclaimed plopping on the couch like he was giving up.
He heard laughter and smiled to himself. Keith grabbed the edge of the couch looking over it but... no Lance?
He turned back around to see a five year old Lance standing there excitedly. "Ha! I scared you!" He exclaimed making a face sticking out his tongue.
"Did not!" Keith said defensively to tease the boy.
"Did too!" He laughed. Keith snatched him up and tickled him causing roaring laughter to erupt from the boy.
Lance took off running but tripped and fell. He seemed fine for a single moment as Keith rushed to him before he began to cry. "Let me see your owie."
Lance raised his elbow pointing to it while sobbing.
"Here, let me kiss it better." Keith said pressing his lips to the painful spot and Lance lightened up. "Feel better?"
Lance nodded vigorously wiping away his tears with the help of Keith. "Pidgie!" He yelled jumping up upon the sight of Pidge.
"Awww!" She cooed. "I see he's already going back to normal. The cure is just time. Give him a while, he'll slowly get back to his original age."
"When I get back to my age I'm gonna marry Keith!" Lance said happily and very sure.
Keith blushed, he would die for Lance to follow through with that.
"Is that so?" Asked Pidge giving Keith a wink.
"Yup!" Lance said confidently.
Keith let out a noise that didn't sound human. "We should go check on that spaghetti!" He said quickly changing the subject.
"Ooh! Spasgetti!" He exclaimed still mispronouncing it. Keith laughed a little. He never knew Lance couldn't say it when he was little. In fact, he'd never heard Lance use the word before.
Speaking of Lance, he'd taken off down the hall getting a head start on Keith. The raven haired boy took off after him and he made it to the kitchen panting to see a seven year old Lance sitting on the counter kicking his legs talking to Hunk while the taller male made spaghetti.
"Yup! I fell and he kissed my owie right here to make it feel better!" Lance exclaimed holding up his left arm and pointing to his elbow.
"Oh really?" Hunk said a little too smug. Lance just nodded quickly.
Keith felt his face go red with embarrassment. Hunk finished making a bowl of spaghetti grabbing a fork and handing it to the boy.
"Thanks Hunk!" He sat down at the table sitting on his legs in the chair to be taller. The steaming hot bowl of pasta sat before him and Keith stopped him before he dug in.
"Remember to blow on your food, it's hot." Keith reminded.
"Okay." Lance said. He quickly blew on it once before shoving the forkful in his mouth and quickly spitting it out as it was too hot.
"You have to blow on it more than that!" Keith exclaimed making sure the boy was okay.
(Low key did that when I was little.)
"But it takes to long!" Lance whined.
Keith rolled his eyes at the adorable boy. "Did you want some water?" He asked figuring it would help his burned tongue.
"Yes please!" Lance exclaimed. At least the boy grew up polite.
Keith got up to get him some water and when he came back he saw a nine year old Lance eating large bites of 'spasghetti'. "Here you go."
"Keith look! I'm older! I'm going to be able to marry you soon." Lance said a little more mature but still very childish.
Keith blushed heavily. "You might have to wait a long time for that buddy."
"What? How long?" Lance said sadly making Keiths heart practically shatter.
"W-well, we're both only 18 so probably a while." (We won't go off season 6)
"That's not even fair!" Lance yelled his cheeks turning a rosy red.
"Yes it is." Keith said back laughing lightly at how dead set Lance was in marrying him. If only Lance was always like that, regardless of age.
"Shirooooo!!!" Lance whined.
Shiro bust into the room space dad style and Keith had to hold back a laugh out of fear of being slapped.
"Keith says we can't get married!" Lance accused tearing up.
Shiro looked at him quickly. "I didn't say we never would! Just that we're both too young!" Keith defended.
Shiro chuckled and squatted down to Lances height ruffling the boy's hair. "Sorry, but Keith's right. Although, a couple years can fly by pretty quick."
"But what if I want to kiss him?!" Lance complained.
Shiro smiled holding back laughter as Keith was dying in the background. "Lance, you don't have to be married to kiss."
"Ohhh!" Lance said in realization and wiped his tear stained face.
"Well, looks like my work here is done!" Shiro said leaving to his room.
Lance let out a long yawn looking droopy eyed. "Maybe it's time for you to go to bed." Keith said putting away the bowl and fork the young boy left.
"I'm not tired." Lance replied laying his head in the table.
"Yeah sure you're not. C'mon let's get you in your pajamas." Keith grabbed him by the hand dragging him to the blue paladins room.
Keith watched as Lance dug through his drawers finding a pair of pajama pants and a t-shirt. He dressed in the bathroom and when he came back out he was 11.
He rubbed his eyes tiredly and yawned. "Alright, night." Keith said walking to the door but Lance stopped him.
"No! Keith you have to watch me remember." Lance said folding his arms.
"There's no way you remember that." Keith narrowed his eyes. Lance just shrugged crawling into bed and patting the spot next to him. Keith rolled his eyes and joined him.
Keith wasn't in his pajamas but he didn't care, he was far too tired. Lance cuddled up to Keith and it wasn't Laing before the two had fallen asleep after the long day of insane events.
In the morning Keith woke up to a small tickle on his nose. He pawed at his face attempting to roll over finding it impossible.
He opened his eyes seeing a normal Lance asleep with his arms wrapped tightly around Keith's torso. The chocolate brown hair was brushing his face which had woke him up in the first place. He felt joy course through him, the boy was back to being himself.
Lance yawned debunking Keith's previous belief that the boy was asleep.
He watched the blue paladins eyes open groggily and look up at him. Lance smiled before letting go to stretch. Keith frowned at the loss of affection.
"Morning princess." Lance said lowly.
Keith rolled his eyes at the nickname. "Whatever you say mr. turns into a baby!" Keith laughed.
"How was I supposed to know it was a trap!?" Lance defended.
"You just should." Keith said irrationally.
"Well I for one am glad it happened." Lance said smiling.
"And why is that?" Keith asked curiously.
"Because otherwise I wouldn't be cuddling you right now." Lance said resting his chin on Keith chest to look at him while proving his point.
"You never know." Keith said quietly.
"Plus I got to see you act like a mom." Lance laughed.
"I did not act like a mom!" Keith retorted.
"Oh really?! 'Geez Shiro! You're scaring him!'." Lance mocked.
"Are you telling me, you remember everything?" Keith stared at him in disbelief.
"Well duh, it was just a lot harder to control what I said and my thought process." Lance explained.
Keith smirked, "Well you're the one who said you were going to marry me when you're older."
"And I have every intention of doing so." Lance said smugly.
Keith was a little shocked and a blush formed on his cheeks. "O-okay."
The two continued to cuddle for hours refusing to get up but had to as the others became suspicious.
