You sip on your soda as you wait for Kurapika to end his call.
"Yes, I understand. However, I have a hunter's license which gives me access to that area," he says on the phone. He glances your way. "May we finish this conversation later? I'm having lunch with my soon to be ex-wife."
You flinch.
Kurapika puts his phone down.
"Sorry about that," he says.
"Always working." You roll your eyes.
"Yes, (Y/N). I have a goal, remember? Not that it's any of your concern."
"Why wouldn't it be? I'm your wife."
Kurapika sighs. "Just sign the damn papers already. I don't know why you insist on dragging out this divorce. It's been six months."
You slam your fist on the table. "Because we're still in love."
Kurapika looks around the restaurant before making eye contact with you. "Keep it down. You're making a scene."
You fall back against your seat and cross your arms. "Like I care. Anyway, I know you don't really want to divorce me. You're in love with me."
"I was in love with a version of you."
You pull yourself closer to him. "And I can still be that version. Just give me another chance!"
Kurapika shakes his head. "No, (Y/N). You shouldn't have to pretend to be someone you're not. That's not how love works."
"I'm not pretending!" you shout.
"I thought I told you to keep it down. If you can't have a civilized conversation with me, then I'll leave."
"I'm sorry...I'll keep it down. Just please...tell me what I can do to change your mind."
Kurapika looks out of the window instead of responding.
"Oh, c'mon, baby Pika...you know you still want me to be your wife," you say with a sly smile on your face.
He turns his head to face you. "Don't call me that. And trust me, I don't like the idea of having an ex."
"We can go to counseling or something...just don't throw everything away."
Kurapika stands up from his seat. He places his hands on the table. "And what am I supposed to tell the therapist? That my wife killed two people and almost killed me?" He lifts his shirt up, exposing his incredible abdominal muscles. "May I remind you that this scar on my stomach is from you?"
"Now look who's making a scene," you say. "Good people do bad things, too."
Kurapika sits down. "Yes. The difference is you knew exactly what you were doing." He runs his hands through his hair. "This marriage is over."
The words sting your heart. "Well...I'm not signing. Not until you give us one more chance."
Kurapika pulls his eyebrows close together. "(Y/N), I'm making this easy for you. I bought you a nice car and a luxury apartment. You'll never have to work another day in your life with the amount of alimony I agreed to give you. What more do you want?"
"You."
He pushes his food away. "This lunch was a complete waste of time. You do realize what I'm capable of, right? I'm a hunter. I can arrest you right now for murder. Sign the papers!"
"Oh, we're using threats now? Calm down, Kurapika. I just need some time to process everything. I'm losing the love of my life." Tears well up in your eyes.
Kurapika's expression softens. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to threaten you."
You wipe away your tears with a napkin. "I forgive you. You could murder a hundred people and I'd still forgive you."
Kurapika raises his hand for the check. After paying for lunch, the two of you walk outside.
"I'll walk you to your car," says Kurapika.
"Thank you." You look around the parking lot. "Where's your car?"
"I didn't drive here. I don't live far."
"Want a ride? I don't mind driving you back home."
"To be honest, I'd rather you not know where I live."
You pull your keys out of your purse. "Oh, please. I already know you're staying with Leorio."
Kurapika curses under his breath while he opens the car door for you. You smile.
"Oh, c'mon. What harm will it do?" You hop in your car.
Kurapika sighs. "Ugh, what the hell? After all, I did pay for this car." He slams the door.
You bite your lip as you watch Kurapika walk to the passenger side. He opens the door and slides in.
You pull out of the parking lot and head in the direction of Leorio's apartment building.
"I must admit...it feels strange having you drive me," Kurapika says, clicking the seat belt.
"Why? Is it because I'm a woman? Ugh...get over yourself." You glance his way. "I can also drive a stick."
"Huh?" Kurapika gives you a puzzled look.
You pull into an empty parking lot.
Kurapika takes in his surroundings. "(Y/N), what are we doing here?"
You put the car in park. "I just want to chat a little."
"We already did. You still won't sign the papers."
"I just want to make sure you really want a divorce."
"I don't know how to make it any clearer!" Kurapika unlocks the car door. "I'll just walk from here. Thank you for the ride."
You reach out and grab his arm. "No, don't go! Not yet. I'm sorry."
Kurapika massages his temples as he settles back into his seat. You tilt your head to the side, studying his expression. It's obvious he's frustrated. He stares at nothing as you take in how handsome he is. You can tell he hasn't slept much by the dark circles under his eyes. He could also use a haircut. You love how he always has a few strands that like to fall to the left.
"Are you just going to stare at me?" he finally asks. "I thought you wanted to talk."
You feel yourself blush. "I...I do."
You hop over the console to be closer to Kurapika. You land on his lap.
"(Y/N), what the hell are you doing?"
You tuck some of his hair behind his left ear, exposing his earring. You press your lips against it.
Kurapika squirms in his seat. "I know what you're doing. It's not going to happen."
"You're so tense. Just calm down and enjoy yourself." You push his shoulders down. "We are still married...we can do this stuff."
"Uh...no. We're in the middle of a divorce."
You pull away, showing him your wedding band.
Kurapika slides the ring off your finger and throws it on the floorboard.
"I still have your name. You can't throw that on the floor," you say.
He stares into your eyes. You can almost see the dark crimson through his black contacts. "(Y/N), please get off of me. I'd like to go home."
"Then let's go home. Our home."
"We no longer have a home together." He turns his head to look out the window.
You place your hand on his cheek, moving his head to face you. You press your lips against his while using the lever to pull the seat back as far as it will go.
Kurapika flails his arms in the air. You look directly into his eyes. He attempts to look away, but something is holding his eye contact on you. For a brief moment you can see passion in his eyes.
You hold his gaze while unbuttoning the first two buttons of his shirt. He slowly shakes his head.
"No," he whispers.
You press your lips against his neck. Once you find his sweet spot, you use your tongue to press his skin. A moan escapes his lips. You smile when you realize he is under your spell.
You continue to kiss his neck while you unfasten his belt buckle. You unzip his pants and free his erection. You purposely wore a dress today for easy access. You pull down your panties and toss them on the driver's seat. You feel yourself drip as you stare at your favorite part of him.
You lift yourself up over Kurapika. He places his hands on your thighs, running them up to your waist. You slowly glide down his length. The feeling of ecstasy increases with every inch. You've missed this feeling so much.
Losing all control, you begin to move your pelvis up and down with ferocity. The windows begin to fog up. Kurapika assists you by holding your waist, pushing and pulling until the both of you climax simultaneously.
Kurapika falls against the seat. You rest your head on his chest while the two of you recover.
"Dammit...dammit...dammit! Please tell me you're still on the pill," Kurapika says.
"Relax." You push yourself up off of him. "Of course I am."
You grab your panties and pull them back on before taking your place back in the driver's seat.
Kurapika zips his pants back up and buttons his shirt. "You know...we never performed water divination on you. You can skip that part...I can tell you're a manipulator."
The next day, you wake up in a great mood. You skip to the kitchen to make yourself a nice breakfast.
You're about to sit down to eat when you hear a knock at the door. You get up to answer it.
"May I help you?" you ask the man at the door.
"Are you (Y/N) Kurta?"
"Sure am," you answer proudly.
"These are for you." He hands you an envelope.
You furrow your brow. "What the hell is this?" You ask, noticing it's a letter from a law office.
"Sorry, ma'am. I'm just here to serve them to you."
You shut the door in his face.
You open the envelope. The first letter states you have twenty days to sign the papers or you must appear in court.
You throw them on the table and grab your phone. You call Kurapika, but it goes straight to voicemail.
"Hey, Kurapika, it's your wife. Let me get this straight. You fuck me and then have someone serve me papers? Well, you can threaten me all you want. I'm not signing. You can go to hell."
You end your call and throw the breakfast you made in the trash. Your stomach can't handle food right now.
You get dressed and leave the apartment to get some fresh air.
"I can play dirty, too. I'll fight for as much alimony as I can get."
You find a bench at the park and take a seat. A familiar voice calls you from behind.
You smile when your old friend takes a seat next to you.
"Hi, Gon." You wrap your arms around him. His familiar grassy scent fills your nose. "Won't you get in trouble for talking to me?"
Gon hugs you back. "No...Kurapika isn't mad at any of us for lying to him. He understands why we kept the truth from him. He actually thanked us because he felt a happiness he never felt before."
You pull away. "But...don't you hate me for what I did?"
Gon shakes his head. "I could never hate you. Sure, what you did was awful, but you did it out of love."
"That's exactly why I did it. I love Kurapika with all my heart."
Gon changes his expression. He looks at you with a hint of sadness in his eyes. "(Y/N)? I know you love Kurapika, but...why don't you just sign the divorce papers?"
You roll your eyes. "Oh, gosh! He's got you involved now?"
"No. I just don't like seeing him so stressed out. If you really love him, you wouldn't want to see him that way either."
Gon's words hit you right in the heart. You look away from him.
"I do love him. And I know what I did was wrong. I guess I'm just afraid of losing him forever."
Gon nods and gives you a half smile. "I understand. You know if it was meant to be, he'd come back to you."
You try to hold back your tears. Gon places his hand on your shoulder. You reach over and throw your arms around him, allowing your tears to soak his jacket.
"I'm going to miss you all so much. Why does he get to take away my friends?"
Gon rubs your back. "He doesn't. You have my number."
"Thank you, Gon. If it will make you happy, I'll sign the papers."
One month later
You walk out of the courthouse feeling like the world is crashing on top of you. You hold your chest in an attempt to keep the shards of glass from ripping away your heart. You try not to breathe, knowing the pain only intensifies when you do.
You hold back your tears. You want to wait until you go home before you start to cry.
You walk to your car, feeling a pair of eyes on you. You turn to look over your shoulder. Kurapika is standing there, wearing a grateful smile on his face.
He walks over to you. It looks like he wants a hug, but you back away. You don't want him to see you lose it.
He reads your body language and takes a few steps backward.
"(Y/N), thank you. I want you to know...this wasn't an easy decision for me to make. I tried to convince myself that you weren't capable of such actions; however, as more evidence unfolded in front of me, it was hard to deny." He hangs his head, as if he's holding back his own tears. "I did love you."
"Kurapika..." your voice cracks.
He looks back at you. "I wish you the best. Live out your dreams."
You are my dream.
He extends his arm. You shake his hand and he pulls you in. He kisses you on your cheek before pulling away.
You watch as he walks to his car.
As soon as you get into your car, the tears stream down uncontrollably.
Another month goes by and you haven't left your apartment. You're wondering how it's possible for a human to cry so much.
You force yourself out of bed and walk to your closet. You pull down a box. It's filled with items that remind you of Kurapika. You pull out a shirt and inhale it. It still smells like him. You look through your wedding album, studying his smile.
"Everything I did was to protect your smile," you say, running your fingers over his picture.
You get up to find your phone. It rings five times before someone answers it.
"Kurapika's phone...who is this?"
"Uh...Leorio? Where's Kurapika?"
"I'm sorry...your name didn't appear on the screen...who is this?"
He took my name off his contact list?
"Uh...it's (Y/N). I just wanted to see how Kurapika was doing."
"Oh...uh...he's good. He just went out to grab a bite to eat. I guess he forgot his phone. I'll tell him you called."
"Okay...thank you."
You end the call. Your heart drops to your stomach.
After staring at nothing for the next few minutes, you hear your stomach growl. You stand up and decide it's time to get some food in your stomach.
You pull on some clothes and do your best to disguise the redness around your eyes with some makeup before driving to your favorite restaurant.
After leaving your order at the counter, you turn around to take a seat. Your eyes widen at the sight in front of you.
You see Kurapika sitting alone in the booth the two of you used to sit in. He's looking out the window. The bell dings, signaling someone walking into the restaurant. You notice his expression changes. A bright smile spreads across his face as he greets the person who just walked in. He stands up and kisses her cheek.
Is he on a date? It's only been a month since our divorce and...he's dating?
You feel your heart pound against your chest as you watch Kurapika wait for this woman to sit down before taking his place back in his seat. You can only see her back. She looks petite, with short black hair.
You sit down, realizing Kurapika is facing the front of the restaurant where you are standing. Part of you wants to storm over there, but you don't want to look like the crazy ex-wife.
The lady at the counter calls you, letting you know your food is ready. You grab the bag and walk out of the restaurant.
No longer feeling hungry, you set the bag of food on the passenger seat. You look through the window of the restaurant, watching Kurapika from afar.
Pain and anger flows through your veins as you chew the skin on your knuckles. You don't realize what you're doing until you taste blood.
You rest your head on the steering wheel and take slow deep breaths.
"Just let him go...let him be happy." you repeat over and over again.
You lift your head back up and see Kurapika holding the woman's hands on top of the table. He's wearing a big smile on his face.
"No...he's mine. He can only be happy with me!"
You reach into your purse for your phone. You find your friend's number on your contact list.
"Killua! Teach me Nen," you shout when he answers.
"Damn, hello to you, too, (Y/N)."
"Teach me Nen," you repeat.
"Teach you Nen? Hell no."
"Please?"
You hear Killua sigh into the phone.
"Just leave him alone," Killua says.
"Wait...did you know he was seeing someone else?"
"Umm...no?"
"I'm coming over."
"What? No way."
"I have food."
"See you soon."
You race over to Killua's apartment. Alluka answers the door. She greets you with a hug.
You take your shoes off. "Where's your brother?"
She points to the living room. "Big Brother is playing his video game."
You place the bag of take-out on the kitchen counter before finding Killua.
Killua curses before throwing the controller across the living room. You sit down on the couch, waiting for his tantrum to end.
"Oh...hey, (Y/N)." Killua gets up like he didn't just lose a game. He sits on the couch opposite from you.
"Tell me everything you know about Kurapika's new girlfriend."
"Where's the food?"
"In the kitchen."
Killua relaxes against the couch, crossing his arms behind his neck. "Look, I don't pay attention to his love life. I just know Leorio introduced him to some new doctor at the hospital."
"Leorio, huh? That bastard." You throw your fist down on the couch. "Anyway, how long has he been seeing this woman? And tell me the truth."
Killua closes his eyes.
You walk up to Killua and flick him in the face.
"Ow! What was that for?"
"Answer my question, Killua."
He rubs his face. "Fine. It was the day after Kurapika filed for a divorce. He told Leorio he wasn't looking to date anyone, especially not until after the divorce was finalized. Well, you know Leorio. He ended up just bringing the girl over for dinner. He introduced her to Kurapika and they hit it off right away." He crosses his legs. "There you go...happy?"
Your veins are on fire. "That's why he was in such a hurry for me to sign those papers."
Killua hops up off the couch and pushes your shoulders down. "Hey, calm down. Looks like you're about to lose it."
"Have you met her? Is she pretty?"
Killua pulls away from you and shrugs his shoulders. "No clue. I just heard all this from Leorio."
"Dammit!" The vein in your forehead protrudes.
"Hey...I can make you forget all about Kurapika. Just follow me into my room. It will only take five minutes."
You raise an eyebrow. "And how exactly are you going to make me forget about Kurapika?"
He punches you in the shoulder. "Just kidding. You're a hag compared to me."
You punch him back. "I am not! Besides, I doubt you have any experience in that department. You're not even old enough to buy alcohol."
"So? Anyway...let's change the subject." Killua blushes.
"You're the one who brought it up." You stare at Killua. "Teach me Nen. I already know up to Ren."
"No way in hell. Nen is influenced by your emotional state. I'm not about to awaken your inner monster."
Alluka walks into the living room and notices you shaking. She runs up to you with a concerned look on her face. "(Y/N), what's wrong?"
You explain everything to her while Killua eats the food you brought him.
"Would you like me to find out more about this woman?" she asks you.
Your eyes widen. "You'd do that for me?"
She nods. "Of course. What Kurapika did was wrong. He shouldn't have started dating while you two were still technically married."
"Finally...someone who understands me!"
Killua walks back to the living room. He plops himself on the couch. "What's all the commotion about?"
"Nothing," you say.
"Hey, don't get my little sister involved in your scheme."
"Don't worry, Killua. I'd never put her in danger. Besides, she's eighteen now. She can make decisions for herself."
"I'm watching you," he says, bloodlust in his eyes.
The next week, Alluka walks into your apartment.
"I have all the information you requested," she says after greeting you.
"Great! Tell me all about her."
"Her name is Asami. She's a pediatrician and she works with Leorio."
You scowl. "I swear...I'm killing him next for introducing her to Kurapika."
"I have her entire schedule. She should be at the gym right now. If we leave now, you can catch her at the coffee shop next to the gym. Seems like she always gets a smoothie after working out."
"Perfect! You're an angel, Alluka."
"(Y/N), what are you planning to do once you see her?"
"Kill her. What else?"
Alluka looks away. A look of sadness crosses her face.
You place your hand on her shoulder. "Alluka? What's wrong?"
She looks back at you. "Umm...that might not be the best idea."
"Why not? I've done it before. Who needs stupid Nen?"
"Yeah." She forces a smile. "Well...we better get going."
"Right!"
The two of you take a seat at the coffee shop where Alluka said you might see Asami.
"There she is," Alluka whispers, motioning toward a woman in line.
You can only see her back. She's wearing tights and an oversized shirt. She has a designer bag hanging from her shoulder.
You wait for her to turn around so you can see her face.
Alluka gives you the same sad look she gave you earlier. "(Y/N)? Please...try your best to control your emotions."
"Of course...what's the matter with you?"
"It's just..."
You watch with wide eyes as Asami turns around to grab her smoothie from the counter. The once noisy cafe is now quiet as you focus your attention on the woman who stole your husband.
You must be shaking because Alluka is attempting to calm you down. You can't hear what she's saying to you.
You open your mouth to speak, but your mouth is too dry.
You keep your eyes focused on Asami. Everything seems to be happening in slow motion. She waves at the barista before finding a seat. Once seated, she rests her hand on her very pregnant belly.
"(Y/N)?" Alluka shakes you.
"Why didn't you tell me she was pregnant?" you ask Alluka through clenched teeth. "How far along is she?"
"Umm...eight months."
You do the math in your head. "It doesn't make sense. That's when Killua said they met. Did he knock her up on their first date?"
Alluka keeps her hands on your shoulders, afraid you might make a scene.
"That son of a bitch...no wonder he wanted to make sure I was still on the pill after he fucked me in the car."
Alluka's mouth hangs open. "He what?"
"I never expected this from Kurapika. He's not the type of person who would do this."
"Maybe it's not his baby," Alluka says. "You should talk to him before you do anything drastic."
"No. I'll end up killing him instead."
You hear the barista call Asami's name. She gets up to grab a second smoothie.
"Hmm...looks like she's expecting someone to meet her," you say.
Seconds later, you see Kurapika walk past your table. He doesn't notice you or Alluka.
You stand up from your seat. Alluka tries to stop you, but it's too late. You're already at their table.
"Hello, Mr. Kurta."
Kurapika stares at you with widened eyes. Sweat drops form on his forehead. "Uh...hello...(Y/N)."
Asami looks at you with a confused expression on her face.
"Honey...who is this?" she asks Kurapika.
"This is (Y/N). My ex-wife."
Asami extends her hand. "Oh, it's nice to meet you!"
You notice a huge rock on her left ring finger. You ignore her request for a handshake. Instead, you glare at Kurapika.
"Does the next Mrs. Kurta mind if we have a little talk in private?"
Kurapika wipes his forehead with a napkin. "Uh...no." He gets up and follows you outside.
The two of you find an outdoor table, far from other customers. Kurapika pulls out a seat for you.
"You still have some manners left, I see," you say as you sit down.
Kurapika sits down in front of you. "(Y/N), I was actually going to call you this week. I apologize. You didn't deserve to find out this way."
You tilt your head to the side. "You were going to call me?" You cross your arms. "Hmph. I find that a little hard to believe."
Kurapika nods. "Yes. This has been weighing on my conscience. However, I was afraid to bring her up due to your history."
You put on a serious face. "So...when did you fuck her?"
Kurapika jumps back in his seat. "Uh..."
"That is your baby, isn't it?"
He hangs his head. "Yes. She is."
"Oh, a girl? Congratulations. When is she due?"
"In a few weeks."
You hold your chin between your thumb and index finger. "So...that means you were dating her while we were still married."
"That's not fair, (Y/N)! You were the one who insisted on dragging out our divorce."
"Does she know about your moment of weakness in my car?"
"She does. I'm an honest person, (Y/N)."
"Coulda fooled me," you say.
Kurapika looks away, searching for the right words to say. "(Y/N), I didn't expect any of this to happen." He looks back at you. "Heck...I thought you and I would be married forever." Tears well up in his eyes. "You broke me, (Y/N). I loved you so damn much and you broke me." He wipes his eyes with the back of his hand. "Why couldn't you just be honest with me?"
"Kurapika...I..."
Kurapika holds his hand up. "Let me finish." He reaches across the table and takes your hands in his. "Sure...I would have been angry. Maybe a little hysterical. But...you never said a word to me about it." He pulls his hands away. "I remember the night I made the decision to leave you. You were sound asleep. I watched as you rested peacefully. I thought, 'how can someone have so much peace in their heart after committing such atrocities?' That's when I knew. You weren't the one I needed to spend the rest of my life with."
You hang your head, watching the tears fall down on your jeans.
Kurapika takes a deep breath. "I know you're hurting as well. We were good together."
You lift your head up to face Kurapika. "If what you're saying is true, how come it was so easy for you to move on?"
"I was a wreck, (Y/N). Leorio saw how much I was hurting. That's when he invited Asami over to meet me. Trust me, I swore to myself that I would never fall in love again. But...it just happened. I'm happy, (Y/N). And I want nothing more than for you to find someone who will make you just as happy."
You sniffle your nose. "I'm sorry for hurting you, Kurapika."
The corners of Kurapika's lips move upward into a grateful smile. "I forgive you." He lifts his index finger up. "Under one condition. Please...don't try to hurt Asami. She didn't do anything wrong."
Kurapika stands up. He walks over to you and kisses you on your head. "Goodbye, (Y/N)."
He walks back inside, leaving you alone to cry.
Alluka finds you and allows you to cry into her shoulder. She rubs your head. "I'm so sorry, (Y/N). I was afraid to tell you about the baby."
"It's not your fault, Alluka. I know you were trying to protect me."
"Did he give you closure?"
"He did."
"Are you finished fighting?" Alluka asks you.
"Far from it."
"What are you going to do next?"
You pull away to face Alluka. "Kill Asami."
A frightened expression crosses Alluka's face. "But...what about the baby?"
"I'll make sure she survives."
"Are you sure you want to do this? It's not going to bring Kurapika back."
You shrug your shoulders. "So? I can't just sit back and allow another woman to be with him."
"Are you ready?" Alluka asks you, zipping up your bag.
"Of course." You swing the bag over your shoulder. "Listen...I don't want you to get involved. As soon as we get to the warehouse, I want you to leave. Got it?"
Alluka nods.
The two of you leave your apartment. You both walk until you see Asami leaving the hospital.
She turns around as soon as she hears you call her name.
"Oh, hey, (Y/N)! I didn't expect to run into you again so soon. How are you?"
"I'm great. You? Looks like you're ready to pop." You motion toward her baby belly.
Asami places her hand on her belly. "Yeah. Today was actually my last shift before I start my maternity leave. I just hope this baby girl stays put until after the wedding."
You furrow your brow. "The wedding?"
Asami's mouth hangs open. "I...I'm sorry. I thought you knew Kurapika and I were getting married."
You fake a smile. "Of course. Don't worry about it. I'm actually glad I ran into you. Are you in a hurry? I want to buy a gift for the baby."
"How nice! No, I was just on my way home." She pulls out her phone from her purse. "Who is your friend?" She glances at Alluka.
"Oh, this Alluka. Killua's sister."
Asami gives you a confused look. "Killua?"
"Uh...yeah. You know, Kurapika's friend?"
You see her texting someone on her phone. She puts it back in her purse when she's done. "I'm sorry. He's never talked about someone named Killua before."
"Really? Killua is a big part of Kurapika's life. So is Gon. I'm surprised he hasn't even mentioned them to you."
"To be honest, Kurapika and I have very busy schedules. That's probably why he hasn't made an attempt to introduce me to his friends."
Or maybe it's because Kurapika is only with you because he knocked you up. If you were that important to him, you would've met the most important people in his life by now.
"Well, I'm sure you'll meet them at your wedding."
"Yeah!" she smiles. "So...where do you want to go?"
"Umm...I gotta make a quick stop then I was thinking that we could go to that adorable baby boutique on the square."
The three of you walk until you reach an empty warehouse. Asami looks at it with a confused expression on her face.
"This is where you need to stop?"
You nod. "Yep. You wanna walk in with me?"
Asami looks around the area. "Sure. Why not?"
"Great." You stare into Alluka's eyes. "You can wait for us at the baby store...okay?"
Alluka gives you a thumbs up.
You walk into the musty warehouse followed by Asami. The door slams shut behind her. You flip on the light switch. The sounds of her high heels echoes throughout the empty space as the two of you continue to walk.
You take a few more steps before stopping in front of a large glass box. A sly smile spreads across your face. Asami grabs your wrist.
"Excuse me?" you ask when she tightens her grip on you.
"Do you think I'm stupid?" Her eyes darken as she stares into yours. "Kurapika warned me about you. You want to hurt me, don't you?"
You pull away from her. "No. I want to kill you."
Asami drops to her knees. Her scream pierces your ears.
You cover your ears. "What the hell is wrong with you? I haven't done anything yet."
Asami holds her abdomen. "The baby...she's coming," she says, panting.
You slap your forehead. "You've got to be fuckin' kidding me."
Liquid gushes out of her, worsening her contractions.
You open the door to the glass box. Asami is too distracted by the pain to notice you slide her inside. You shut the door and lock it.
Once her pain subsides, she places her hands on either side of the box. "What's this for?"
You kneel in front of her. "Oh...this?" You tap the top of the box. "You see...my friend actually comes from a family of assassins so she knows a thing or two about murder. She made this box for me. As soon as I flip this switch, all of the oxygen will escape."
A look of fear crosses Asami's face. "But...the baby needs oxygen to survive. Please...don't hurt my baby."
"I'm not that evil. I'll wait until she's born until I turn off the oxygen." You look over your shoulder at the door before returning your attention back to Asami. "Hey! Was that Kurapika you were texting earlier?"
"Yes. He knows my location."
"Dammit!" You reach into your bag for a sharp knife. "I might have to go with my original plan and just cut the baby out."
Asami flails her arms in the air. "No...please! You might kill her."
You hear the door open behind you. You turn around, expecting to see Kurapika. You suck in a breath of relief when you see Alluka approaching you.
"Good. You're still here."
"Of course. I wasn't planning on leaving you," Alluka says, kneeling next to you. "Need help with anything?"
"Yeah. This bitch is in labor. I don't know what to do."
Alluka's eyes widen. "And most likely Kurapika is on his way."
"Exactly."
Asami's screams get louder. She pulls her panties off, laying back. The door swings open again. You and Alluka look back.
"What the hell is going on? I thought I told you to leave my little sister out of your plans," Killua says, walking toward you.
Gon follows closely behind.
Alluka jumps up and wraps her arms around Killua. "I'm okay, Big Brother. Don't worry about me."
Killua hugs her back. He pulls away to take in his surroundings. His eyes widen when he sees Asami inside of the glass box. He points at her. "Something's coming out of that lady's vadge!"
All four of you look in Asami's direction. The baby's head is already out.
Killua shoves you with his foot. "Do something to help her!"
"What the hell am I supposed to do? I don't know how to deliver a baby."
Killua and Gon turn around, not wanting to see Asami give birth.
Seconds later, Kurapika walks in, followed by Leorio. He stops dead in his tracks when he sees the scene in front of him.
Kurapika looks at the knife beside you before focusing his eyes on Asami. His chains have already been conjured.
A wave of relief washes over Asami as soon as she sees Kurapika. "Darling...please...the baby. Help us."
Sweat drops form on his forehead when he realizes she's giving birth. "(Y/N)! Open that damn box!"
You follow his command and unlatch the door. Kurapika tries to go in. He hits his head against the top.
Leorio is already pulling supplies out of his briefcase.
"Let me take it from here, Kurapika."
Kurapika nods. "Right. I know they'll be in safe hands with you."
Kurapika leaves Leorio to work. He stands in front of you. "(Y/N), get up."
You get on your feet. Not realizing how shaky you are, you almost fall back down. Kurapika is staring at you with his scarlet eyes. You look at his right hand. His judgment chain is in the air, waiting to wrap itself around someone's heart.
You take a few steps back. "Kurapika? What are you doing?"
"That's funny. I was going to ask you the same question." He steps closer to you. "Give me one reason why I shouldn't stab you with my chain."
You swallow hard. "Do it. I already feel like you have my heart wrapped in chains." You hang your head, waiting for his condition.
He pulls his right hand back. "You are not to come within five hundred feet of me, Asami, or my child."
Just when Kurapika releases his chain, Killua jumps on top of you. The two of you fall on the floor. He stares into your eyes while leaning on his elbows.
"Killua, why did you do that? I was willing to accept my fate."
"Wow, (Y/N). I've never seen you this close up before. You're pretty," Killua says, ignoring your question.
Everyone is interrupted by the sound of a baby crying. Kurapika twists his neck to look at his newborn daughter.
"It's a girl!" Leorio shouts while wiping her with a towel.
Kurapika runs over to meet her. He jumps back as soon as he sees the baby's face.
"Uh...Leorio? Why does my baby look exactly like you?"
Leorio and Asami glance at each other. Sweat drops from on Leorio's head.
Kurapika starts to lose his patience. "Answer me. Is that my baby or yours?"
"Umm...well...Asami and I hooked up once in the on-call room. But...that was before I introduced her to you. I thought I told you about that," Leorio answers. He looks back at the black-haired baby. "I guess it's possible she's mine." He grins from ear to ear while stroking her head with his thumb. Tears well up in his eyes. "I'm so sorry, Kurapika. I'll pay back every jenny you spent on this baby."
Kurapika starts to laugh. "Please...no need to apologize. Congratulations, Leorio." He places his hand on Leorio's shoulder.
Asami's mouth hangs open.
Kurapika kneels in front of her. He extends his hand, palm up. "I'll take that ring back."
"Kurapika, I'm so sorry."
Kurapika shakes his head. "Just give me my ring back."
Tears stream down Asami's cheeks as she slides her ring off her finger and hands it to Kurapika.
Kurapika stands up, putting the ring inside of his pocket. He turns around to leave. Halfway to the door, he falls on his knees. Gons runs over to him.
"Kurapika? Are you okay?" Gon steadies Kurapika.
"I'm fine, Gon. My heart is just tired. Tired of breaking."
Gon frowns. "It will heal again...I promise."
Kurapika looks up at Gon. "Oh, yeah? How can you make that promise?"
Gon points at you. "Because there's someone right there waiting to heal it."
Kurapika turns his head to see where Gon is pointing. He sighs. "No, Gon. She's the one who broke it first."
"(Y/N) didn't mean to hurt you. Ever heard the expression, 'I'll kill for you?' She's the only one who really means that."
Kurapika stares at his brown-eyed friend. "Gon...I..."
Gon interrupts. "Do you love her?"
Kurapika looks back at you. He smiles. "Yes, Gon. I do."
"Then why don't you tell her?"
Kurapika stands up. He straightens out his suit before walking toward you.
You gasp when you notice how close he is to you. So close, you can feel the warmth of his breath on your face. Your eyes widen when you feel his lips press up against yours. You slowly close your eyes when you feel him part your lips. He places his hand on your cheek, using his thumb to wipe away the tears you didn't realize were there. He intensifies the kiss, making up for months of lost kisses.
He hesitates to pull away. Needing air, he finally breaks the kiss. The both of you breathe heavily.
"Kurapika?"
Tears fall down Kurapika's cheeks. Everyone watches as Kurapika cries in front of them for the first time.
"(Y/N), there is a reason why we shouldn't be together." He holds your cheeks. "However, there are many more reasons why we should."
It's your turn to wipe away his tears. "But...I've killed people."
"And so have I. It's like you said before, 'good people do bad things, too.' I want to return my heart to you. Will you accept it?"
Your heart rate accelerates, leaving you short of breath.
You gulp in some air. "Of course."
Kurapika tucks some loose strands of hair behind your ear. "Just promise me one thing. No more killing."
You grip your chest. "Chain my heart and hope to die."
Kurapika pulls you back in and continues kissing you. Seconds later, Leorio taps him on the shoulder.
Kurapika reluctantly pulls away from you.
"Yes, Leorio? I...I'm a little busy."
"I just want to apologize again." Leorio looks in Asami's direction. She's admiring her new baby. "And...do you mind if I ask Asami out?"
Kurapika lets out a laugh. "Why would I mind? You two have a child together. And stop apologizing. I'm truly happy for you both."
Leorio pulls his best friend in for a hug.
"Uh...Leorio? You're suffocating me," Kurapika says.
Leorio pulls away, laughing. "Sorry, buddy. I'm just so happy."
Kurapika looks at you. "So am I."
You blush.
Killua kicks the glass box. "What the hell is this thing anyway?"
You walk over to him. "Oh, your brilliant sister made that for me." You explain its purpose. "Not only that...she's the one who found this empty warehouse."
Killua inspects the box. "Wow. Alluka did this? She is brilliant."
Kurapika grabs your hand. "Can we stop admiring a device that was created for murder?"
You laugh. "Of course. Let's get out of here."
Kurapika kisses your hand. "Yes. Let's go home. Our home."
This time, you leave the courthouse feeling exhilarated. A mixture of euphoria, passion, and peace fill your heart as you stare at your husband.
Gon hugs you from behind. "I'm so happy for you guys!"
Killua and Alluka walk toward you and Kurapika. She kisses you on the cheek.
You point to your other cheek. "Killua, you can give me a kiss if you want."
Killua crinkles his forehead. "Why on earth would I want to do that?"
"Didn't you say I was pretty?"
Killua jumps back. "No! I'd never say that." He blushes.
You laugh, ruffling his white hair.
Leorio stands next to Kurapika. He has his baby girl strapped to his chest.
"What a year," Leorio says.
"Yes. It's crazy how life throws us these obstacles we must overcome before realizing who we're meant to be."
"Let's just hope life doesn't decide to throw any more our way for a while.
Kurapika returns his attention to you. He kisses your lips. "Are you ready, my love? I believe Heaven is waiting for you."
"Oh, yeah? How am I getting there?"
Kurapika presses his lips against your ear. "I'm going to personally transport you."
Goosebumps erupt on your skin. "Let's go...I can't wait a second longer." You grab Kurapika's hand and run to the car.
"Bye, everyone! Thank you for attending our wedding!" Kurapika waves at his friends.
Kurapika drives as fast as he safely can back to your shared apartment. You both decided a traditional honeymoon wasn't necessary.
He kisses you in the elevator, down the hallway, and up against the door to your apartment. You wrap your legs around his waist as he lifts you up.
He somehow manages to unlock the door while holding you. He turns the doorknob and carries you over the threshold. His lips never leave yours while he locks the door behind him. He slips his shoes off before removing yours.
You laugh against his mouth as he carries you to the bedroom. He eases you on the bed. You reach up to loosen his tie. He grabs your wrists.
"No."
You give him a confused look. "What?"
"Remember the time you tortured me?"
"Yeah. What are you saying, Kurapika?"
"I think it's my turn to torture you. I mean...it's only fair. Considering the hell you put me through this past year."
You feel your body tremble. "O...okay."
"Right." Kurapika pulls his tie off. He wraps it around your eyes. "No peeking." He sits on the bed. "Now...undress yourself."
You swallow hard before pulling your dress off. You unclasp your bra, allowing the straps to hang from your shoulders. You feel Kurapika's gaze on you while you slide your panties off.
"Beautiful," he says. "Now grab the headboard. I want you on your knees."
You crawl up to the headboard, sitting on your knees. Seconds later, you feel something cold and hard wrap itself around your body.
Chains.
You gasp when you feel a metal ball touch your clit. You almost fall on the mattress.
"Oh, no. Don't take your hands off the headboard. You don't want to suffer the consequences of being noncompliant," Kurapika says, voice stern.
"I'm sorry." You take your position back on your knees, holding the headboard as if your life depended on it.
Kurapika's dowsing chain continues to massage your clit. Seconds later, you feel the ball enter you. You scream out in pleasure as it rubs against your walls. You move your hips up and down, wanting to feel more.
You hear Kurapika unbuckle his belt.
The ball slides out of you.
"No!" you shout. "Please...just a little more."
Kurapika presses his body against yours. The heat from his skin radiates throughout your body.
He ignores your request. He reaches around you and grabs your breasts. You throw your head back while he kisses your neck.
"Kurapika, please."
He pulls away. "Are you begging me?"
"Yes...whatever it takes. Just don't stop."
"Only because I love you."
You feel his dowsing chain enter you again. Kurapika leans on his elbows as he watches you squirm. A satisfied smile spreads across his face.
He gives you a few more minutes with his chain before trying something new. He notices the white liquid trickling out of you, down your thigh.
"Ah!" you scream when you feel Kurapika's warm tongue licking up the juices from your thigh.
"Sit on my face," Kurapika demands.
Since you're blindfolded, Kurapika assists you. He positions your entrance directly above his mouth. You feel an immeasurable amount of pleasure as he licks you up, down, and around in a circular motion. He takes his time, finding your favorite pattern.
His chain is still working inside of you. The two sensations bring you close to your climax. Kurapika feels your legs tremble.
He slips out from under you and removes his chain. "I don't recall giving you permission to finish."
Your entire body shakes as you crave Kurapika. Tears stream down your cheeks.
"Please...I can't take it. I need you."
He wipes his mouth with his hand before positioning himself back behind you. He reaches around you and touches your opening.
"You're so swollen. Does it hurt?"
"Yes. So much. Please make it stop."
"I'm so sorry, my sweet angel. I'll make it stop."
You feel the head of Kurapika's penis enter you from behind. He grabs your waist and thrusts himself in and out of you. The bed moves with each thrust, most likely making your neighbors below angry.
Kurapika uses his dowsing chain to massage your clit while he picks up the pace.
You feel a sudden surge of ecstasy. "Kurapika? Can I come now?"
"Yes. Don't hold back. I want to hear you scream my name."
A few more thrusts from Kurapika brings you to your climax. You scream his name, almost deafening him.
He makes sure you experience the greatest orgasm of your life before removing his chains. You fall to the mattress, shuddering.
It's Kurapika's turn to scream your name as he climaxes deep inside of you. He falls on top of you, breathing heavily against your ear.
He removes your blindfold and rolls on his side, positioning you in front of him. Your back rests against his chest.
He runs his fingers up and down your arm, giving you goosebumps.
"I hope I didn't torture you too much," he says.
"Just a little."
"Well, I hope your trip to Heaven was worth it."
"It was incredible. I just wish it wasn't such a short trip."
He kisses your shoulder. "Don't worry. We have the rest of our lives."
