Mahnoor massaged her temple while sipping on her coffee, it had been a fairly hectic day, last semester was heavily taking a toll on her.
Coffee and Sandwiches along with some fruits here and there was basically all that she lived on.
" Let's go through this once more, these guys will be pressuring for a write up so you have to be prepared. Mock trials will be starting from tomorrow so I need everyone to buckle up. "
Law school was hard, especially when you have no to rely on. But in the past four years, Mahnoor had learnt how to live all on her own.
" Can you help us with the case study ? I have to submit this to Ms Arya tomorrow and I still can't see how this works. "
Another junior came to her and she sighed before throwing the paper cup in the bin close to the table and took the pencil in her hand.

" Ye jewellery kaisi hai !? "
Rasha asked, excited. She had been on the video call with Mahnoor for an hour now and the two still had a lot to catch up on.
" Bohot pyaari hai, but what about your heels. Kab deliver hongi ? "
She asked cutting up fruits, Rasha was engaged and was going to get married in 6 weeks. Which gives Mahnoor just enough time to complete her exams and go back to India.
" Pata nahi, bhabhi dekh rahi hai. By the way, we've ordered all your outfits bas tum jaldi jaldi aa jaao, toh we will complete our jewellery shopping. "
She smiled, she was truly grateful for the Hassans, they were the reason that she flew all the way across globe and managed to study at the law school.
This was her advance year and she would graduate in 2 months time. As much as it felt saddening that she'd no longer be studying, she was excited to go back home.
" Ye kya bana rahi ho tab se ? "
Rasha asked eating a slice of toast, she had been on a diet for 2 months now.
" Fruits bowl, I don't exactly eat healthy food so isse pehle ki mujhe food poisoning ho, I am trying to mend my habits. "
The two shared a laugh when Mahnoor heard Adil ask about her,
" Hi Adil Bhai ! How are you ? "
She asked with a big smile, he was not longer a family friend to her, he was the brother she never had. They had grown closer and she was now family to all of them.

" We've booked your tickets. I'll talk to your deen too. Padhai kaisi chal rahi hai ? "
He asked making her groan before venting out.

" Hall ticket ! I left my hall ticket at the dorm. "
Jaden cried, Mahnoor sighed before hitting the back of his head with a book, to which he winced.
" I reminded you like five times J, how did you still manage to leave it there ! "
It was not an insult, neither was it a rhetorical question, she just genuinely did not understand how someone could be so darned careless.
" Relax Mahy, I'll go with him. And you guys can revise in the mean time. "
Cole gave her his charming smile however his British pronounciation of ‘ Mahi ’ still managed to make her laugh.
" Cool ! I'll go with Lea and Noah. But come soon ok, you know Ms horden doesn't exactly like our section. "
This made them laugh and they dispersed.
The exam hall was quite, so much that even if a pin would drop, it would be more than just audible.
" Last ten minutes, please tie up your extra sheets and keep your hall ticket in the desk so it's visible for inspection. "
Horden announced and the students shufled their pages, wanting to complete the exam in time.
Mahnoor was one of the students who were in a hurry, her handwriting somewhat resembled dying ants and she send a silent pyarer to the god for the examiner to be a kind one and not deduct any marks for the same.
" 5 more minutes. "
She hated these announcements, it made her anxious and nervous. Shaking her head she tried to focus on her last answer and not any thing else.
It includes a flow chart of the steps and she took out her mechanical pencil from the pouch and quickly drew boxes, connecting them with lines with the help of a ruler.

She bid bye to her friend and picked Fabia's call.
" Hi bhabhi ! "
She greeted the other, who sensed how tired Mahi was.
" Hi baby ! Exam kaisa tha ? "
Out of habit, Fabia would sometime call her ‘ baby ’ which made her shy but she let it go because she knew Fabia was always busy running around her three daughters.
" Great. Good. Can't feel my hands, kal mai so bhi nahi payi and I haven't even had a grain of food since morning. "
A disappointed grunt made her realise that Zeenat was also on the line and she bit her tongue, she was going to get an earful.
" Ek baar yaha aao tum, tumhe fir theek karungi main. "
That's all she heard but she knew that she was in trouble. Just as she was about to reply, a laugh angered her, not a laugh but a snort.
" Shahzain ! Aap hasien nahi. "
Zeenat was amused, it's true that it was shahzain who was laughing at her but he was not in the frame, it was adorable how she recognised it was his voice.
" Aree ! Hasu nahi toh kya karun. Tum kaam hi daant khane wale karti ho. "
He stuck his tongue out at her and she mindlessly rolled her eyes.
" Aap ko late nahi ho raha ? Aaj toh aapki board meeting thi na. "
Another gasp left Fabia's mouth, just how well did these two know each other !
" Meeting shaam ko hai, aur tum baatein mat banao. Ammi dekh lein, Melbourne jaake khaana tak nahi khati ye time par. "
Mahnoor whined when he teased her and complained to Zeenat that she should scold her son too because he always teases her.
