The kids were so tired, they were almost falling asleep and Rasha was completely drained having danced her heart out on the DJ.
Shahzain and Adil were currently talking with a business partner and Fabia was sitting with a girl named Nikhat, apparently she was a family friend of Hassans too.
Zeenat yaad earlier introduced Mahnoor to her but she didn't seem too happy about it.
Mahnoor was sitting on one of the tables with Fari, feeding her some cake.
" Pani chaiye Maeee. "
They were working on gradually improving Fari's pronunciation, however Mahi loved how she cutely dragged the " ee " sound at the end of her name, trying to copy her sister's.
" Abhi deti hun. "
Mahi was careful enough to gently make her drink from the glass, however a screeching sound behind her startled her and she turned in a rush scaring little Fari.
" Dekh ke nahi chal sakte ! Kitni mehengi dress hai ye pata hai tumhe ? Tumhe saalo ki kamai se bhi karid nahi paoge tum. "
Nikhat was scolding a waiter who accidentally spilled some chutney over her silk dress.
She rolled her eyes, hating her brat-like behaviour but turned back, heading Fari whimper.
" Fari ! Bachcha are you fine ? "
She asked, realising she might've started the kid and Faria nodded before laying her head on Mahnoor's chest.
She patted Fari's back and apologised to her which earned her a smile in return.
Most of the guests had left the hotel and only a few people were left there excluding the family members.
" Beta pareshaan nahi ho ! Party toh khatam ho hi chuki hai, tum ek kaam karo, aaj hamaare ghar hi ruk jao. Kal subah nikal jaana. "
Mahnoor heard Zeenat talk to Nikhat who nodded, clearly still upset about the earlier incident.
She did not pay attention and moved to Adil, who smiled seeing his daughter play with a green earring Mahnoor was wearing.
" Papa ke paas aaiye Fari, idhar aayen."
He cooed at her and took her from Mahnoor's embrace making his daughter giggle.
Mahi looked at them fondly, hoping someday she could have her own sweet little family, just like tigers.
Noticing that Adil was busy talking to the man with him, she turned to her left where she saw Shahzain standing, drinking God knows what, alone.
She slowly tapped on his shoulder and turned to her.
" Thank you "
Mahnoor told him, he smiled and raised his glass.
" You're welcome, and achhi lag rahi hai ye heels, tumhare dress ke saath. "
She batted her lashes making him laugh and told him,
" Sach me, it means a lot. Aap itne khadus nahi hai jitna pehle lagte hai. "
He laughed again and kept his glass on the table, completely turning his attention to her.
" Mai toh pehle bhi khadus nahi tha, bas woh samay nahi tha dosti karne ka ya rishte banane ka. "
She gulped recalling that time and nodded. It was the worst phase of her life and as much as she believed she had gotten over it, she still felt goosebumps all over her body thinking about it.
" Anyways, I'm very happy. Bohot din se kharidna chahti thi mai. "
He patted her head with a smile and said,
" You are family for me Mahnoor, you don't have to thank me. "
She nodded and was about to tell him something when Nikhat came to them and completely ignoring Mahi, told Shahzain that Zeenat was looking for him.
" Aunty tumhe bula rahi thi, she was looking for you. Aur apna phone bhi nahi utha rahe the tum. Go see her. "
He gave an apologetic smile, and turned to grab his phone, which was kept on silent the entire time.
" Thanks, I'll go see. "
Nikhat gave him a smile and only once he was out of her sight, her smile dropped.
" Tum Mahi ho na ! I mean your name is Mahnoor right, so why does Fabia call you Mahi ? "
Mahi felt wierd, what kind of a dumb question was that, it didn't take a genius to guess that it was a simple nickname that she was given with love.
" Pyaar se bulati hai woh mujhe Mahi. "
Nikhqt shook her head and then told her,
" Fabia was looking for you, I wasn't sure ki tum hi Mahi ho, you should talk to her. "
Lie. It was a sheer lie, Zeenat has introduced her as Mahnoor, hamari Mahi among the other things so it's unlikely that she ' didn't realise ' who Mahi is.
It took her this long to tell me bhabhi is looking for me but she was quick to tell Shahzain the same.

" Oh - ok thank Nikhat. "
She did not smile in return and continued to look down on her phone and Mahi rolled her eyes and left.

" Bacho, Fabia aur ma ko lekar mai jaata hun. Tum Rasha, Mahi aur Nikhat ko lekar aa jaao. Ammi n servants ko bol diya hai, guest room saaf ho jayega jab tak ham pohonchenge. "
Adil told his younger brother who nodded and continued to play with his youngest niece.
" Aap teeno ko bula dijiye, mai car nikalwata hun. "
Shahzain made Fabia hold Fari and left from there. Adil called up Mahnoor and told her to come to them with Rasha.
" Adil ! Aap Nikhat ko khud bula kar le aaiye, guest woh hamari, achha nahi lagega phone karna. "
He nodded and stealing a kiss from his daughter left from there.
After a little while, Rasha and Mahnoor came together, eating corn salad from the same bowl.
" Bhabhi, aapne bulaya ? '
Rasha asked, still pouting because she was feeling sleepy.
" Hmm, ma keh rahi thi ki Shahzain tum dono ko aur Nikhat ko ghar chhod dega. "
Mahnoor nodded and sat besides Fabia, laying her head on her shoulder.

She heard Shahzain say and turned and saw him standing with his keys in his hand.
Mahi stood up lazily and walked with Rasha, Nikhat following them.
When they reached the car, Nikhat and Rasha both went to the passenger seat and looked at each other.
Not wanting to be a part of the girl's argument, Shahzain sat in.
" Mujhe aage baithna pasand hai, mai please aage baith jaun ? "
Mahi sat in the back and leaned against the car seat, tired from the party.
" Well I always sit in the front, I am sure tum ek din piche baith sakti ho. "
With that, she opened the door and sat in, leaving behind a pouty Rasha.
Mahi rolled her eyes and opened the back door, prompting Rasha to get in.
Knowing how sensitive she is, Mahi knew she was feeling upset.
Not paying heed to this, Shahzain started driving.
