LAST TIME I CHECKED I WAS STRAIGHT!!! Zhuling ff - Chapter 2: Chapter 2

"Now shall we meet the young fellow?" Lan Qiren said in his usual deep tone.
Jiang Cheng was in his thoughts thinking about how this elder in front of him used to always shout at him and Wie Wuxian for stirring up trouble, oh those good old days. Hearing the elder's voice Jiang Cheng quickly snapped back and went out to bring Jin ling, he was hoping Jin ling would still be out there and not somewhere else, fortunately Jin ling was out beside the door standing quietly but his face was red and sweaty. Jiang Cheng didn't give it much of a thought and asked him to come in and meet the head teacher.
"Ah you must be Jin ling, Welcome to the Gusu Lan Sect, I expect you would follow all the rules while you're here studying and hopefully learn new things which will help you in the future" Jin ling respectfully greeted the elder with a bow, and waited for the elder to talk again.
"Senior Lan I have to leave early to attend some urgent matters" Jiang Cheng said in a polite manner. Jin ling looked wide eyed in disbelief at his uncle, So he's leaving already huh? So much for caring about me, Jin ling didn't like the fact that his uncle was already leaving—no he hated the fact that the other was leaving, was his uncle really in that much hurry to go away from him...? If so then when will I see him?
Jin ling had so many questions in his mind..he hated being emotional—hated showing his vulnerability to other people because he knew...knew that people would always somehow take advantage of it but right now...right now he just wanted to be alone and cry until he was pulled in.. for a hug, —hug??
He was in shock to see his uncle hug him...god knows how long its been since the last time his uncle has hugged him like this but he didn't care, he just wanted to stay like this forever..forever in this warm hug he yearned for but all good things come to an end and just like that Jiang Cheng pulled away, patted Jin ling's head and told him that he will come visit with Fairy if he has time. With that Jiang Cheng left the office pavilion.
While walking back to the gate Jiang Cheng noticed a certain someone that he was trying to avoid, he tried switching ways but that would only lead back to the office so he had no choice but to walk hoping that the person would turn and go somewhere else but as he was approaching closer to the person he was getting red and sweaty. He wanted to be mad at this person but didn't know how to after all this person did take his precious first kiss away. Yes. His first kiss.
"Well hello there Sect Leader Jiang, I heard you were putting your nephew Jin ling here to study and I was just about to go greet you and Jin ling" Jiang Cheng was baffled at Lan Xichen's words, why did this man pretend that he didn't know anything he did that night... he just wanted to punch this sect leader's precious handsome face but he didn't because it wasn't the "right time"
After some hesitation and some awkward staring at the other's handsome face he spoke "I was just about to leave now since I have other important matters I must attend but I will come visit Jin ling again surely if I have time to, now then" Jiang Cheng gave Lan Xichen a bow and left speed walking to the gate hoping he wouldn't meet anyone else and just like that he left.
Lan Xichen looked at Jiang Cheng with somewhat of a confused look, had he done something to the other?

"Jin ling I have called one of my best junior disciple to show you around, after that you can turn in for the night in the room you have been assigned to." Lan Qiren said as he sat down doing some paperwork.
After a few minutes there were knocks on the door, after that a young man walked in wearing the Gusu Lan Sect attire.
"Ah here you are, come in Sizhui" Sizhui greeted Lan Qiren with a bow then faced Jin ling, he looked surprised, well he was because the other young man standing in-front of him looked like the person who was laying flat down in the library, god he really wanted to ask if he was the boy that was in the library but waited until the senior would leave.
"Sizhui Now that you are here I hope you show this young classmate around" Lan Qiren left the office after giving the list of things that Lan sizhui must show to Jin ling.
It was awkwardly quiet.. Jin ling was sure he had heard this guy's voice before but couldn't remember where. No one was still talking until Sizhui took the initiative to talk first because his curiosity took over him, "Young master Jin...I really want to....ask something so......can I?" Jin ling who was surprised and kinda happy that the other person took the initiative to talk so he nodded,
"Were you the guy in the library..."
Jin ling went silent, darn his luck.
He couldn't really say it wasn't him because who else would be wearing another's sect's robe just roaming around in the Gusu Sect's library. Jin Ling felt a flush of embarrassment, still hesitating to respond. He knew it would be impolite not to answer, but he couldn't bear the thought of humiliating himself in front of someone he found attractive. Wait, did he just refer to a guy his age as attractive? What was happening to him!
Lan sizhui knew he shouldn't have let his curiosity take over him and he regretted that so he tried talking about something else, "Uhh you really don't have to answer, I think I saw someone else anyways"
Jin ling snapped back from his thoughts, god, he's probably tired because there's no way he would think of a guy being attractive even if the other really is in fact handsome, diving a bit more into his thoughts, he also had a small petite body for a guy... plus his hair very long, looked smooth and silky as a girl's....and...oh god—what the hell.
No more diving into unnecessary thoughts.
"-master Jin?" Sizhui repeatedly called,
"Oh um—sorry....I'm just a bit tired." Jin ling replied.
Sizhui smiled, "That's ok, we'll just have to complete this tour fast then so you could go rest"
Oh damn, that smile.
"Thank you" Jin ling quickly replied, then after that the two of them proceeded with the rest of the tour.

The tour had finally ended after what seemed like an eternity mainly because of how awkward it was throughout the whole time they were together so both were glad that it was finally over. "Now let's go find your room," Sizhui said.
"Sure but where do we have to go for that?" Jin ling asked in a tired tone.
"We have to go to the dorm room teacher's office" he replied back, it was getting dark and they were both really tired and were too far away from the chambers so they decided to take a break near a small pond where there were small fishes.
Jin ling was very tired and very hungry, all he had ate today was some soup for breakfast and that was a long time ago.
His hungry eyes wandered everywhere to find some kind of fruit tree or something but his frowned deepened as he found nothing.
He looked around for a second time—hoping something would just magically appear and well it did. He saw the pond with fishes and he got an idea —an idea that would probably lead him to trouble but he didn't care, no he was too hungry to really care about the consequences.....
"Hey! Look Sizhui we can catch those fishes and eat them"
"No- those are Zewu-Jun's fishes-" before Sizhui could finish his sentence Jin ling had already rolled up his trousers and sleeves and had jumped in the water.
"Jin ling no- we will get in trouble" Sizhui protested looking around, hoping no one could see them.
"Oh come on, just 2 fishes won't make a difference, he won't even notice"
"Still......" Sizhui sighed but gave up because he too was hungry. He rolled up his trousers and sleeves and jumped in the water. "Just 2 then, and please hurry up before someone notices us"
"Yea yea just hurry and help me, I'm starving" Jin ling grinned.
Sizhui wasn't really an expert but he was trying his best, "I'm gonna sneak up on that fish so if it swims away you have to catch it" Jin ling said giving Sizhui directions on where he should go, he counted down till 3.
"3, CATCH"
They failed miserably bumping each other then falling in the water. They both looked at each other, it was awkward... then they both suddenly bursted out laughing...both realizing that this was pointless and that they suck at catching fishes.
"Well...we'll just go back to the dorms now then" Jin ling said with a frown.
Sizhui also frowned but nodded.
While Sizhui and Jin ling were getting out of the water, 2 fishes came to a spot. "Sizhui lets go-"
"Shhhh' Sizhui shushed Jin ling covering his mouth with his hands, realizing what he just did he took his hands off and whispered "Sorry...but look there are fishes there, I think I can catch them just don't make any sound." Jin ling felt a throbbing in his heart..he was too close to Sizhui, oh and he actually was very very veryyy pretty—even up close.
"Finally!" Sizhui couldn't help but shout, surprising himself as he rarely raised his voice due to the strict rules he grew up with. However, it seems that every day, he discovers new aspects of himself, leading to these unexpected moments of self-expression.
Jin ling smiled as he held the fishes in a bag they had just found. "Ah finally, now let's roast them"
"Ok then"...Sizhui really didn't want to roast these small fishes but then again he was really tired and hungry so he wanted to get this over with.
After they had finished eating the 'poor' fishes, they had made their way down to the dorm office.
With a knock on the door, the office head called them inside.
"Come in", Lan Sizhui and Jin ling greeted the elder that was incharge of the dorms.
"Hello Sir I am here for my dorm room" Jin ling said in a polite manner.
"Ah I see, just wait a minute let me see if there are any dorms available" After a minute of silence the elder finally talked "Currently there are no dorms that are available since they are still building them so you have to share with a person" Jin ling frowned but it didn't show since he didn't want to look or act spoiled even if he was spoiled by his dear uncle.
The elder faced to Lan sizhui "Sizhui currently you're the only one with no roommate so you must share with him." Sizhui always wanted a roommate but somehow the elders never gave him a roommate, the other disciples called him lucky but he just wanted to have a roommate just like everybody else, some thought he never had a roommate because those were his benefits as the adopted son of Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian, no one really wanted to befriend him since his parents were hotshots and if something were to happen to Sizhui they would definitely be in trouble but despite all that only Lan Jingyi a hot headed junior disciple befriended him and since then they were 2 peas in a pod, sticking together 24/7. Everyone wondered how they were even friends, one was hot headed and rude and the other mature and kind.
"I guess we're sharing rooms now...." Jin ling said
"Yeah...let me show you where it is"
They arrived at the room."You have such a clean room.." Jin ling had awkwardness in his tone because he didn't know what to do.."There's only one bed...."
"Thank you I tend to keep things clean since that's one of the rules here...oh yeah." Sizhui slowly also realized that his room did in-fact had one bed, courtesy of living alone. Plus it was too late to get another one today.
They both had settled down in the room, Jin ling was setting up his things in his side of room on the shelves and Sizhui was on his bed doing something, supposedly his homework.
Someone knocked on the door, Jin ling took the initiative to go up and open it, he frowned seeing the sight of a certain someone.
"I heard that you both cousins are roomates now, ah how lovely" Wei Wuxian's voice rang in the quiet room and hallway.
"Senior Wei" Sizhui greeted. Jin ling wasn't going to greet his other uncle but then he saw the "bodyguard" and then had no choice but to greet with a bow.
Jin ling was sure he heard his uncle say "cousins" so he asked. "What do you mean cousins?!?"
"Oh I thought you knew" Wei Wuxian grinned.
"I'm sorry, knew what exactly...?"
Wei Wuxian was laughing loudly like always "Sizhui is our adopted son"
"Now then I will leave you two alone" Wei Wuxian laughed and left the two juniors alone. They both thought that there was an inside joke in what the elder just said but they didn't care.
"Are we really cousins??" Jin ling frowned and said this time he didn't care to hide his frown
"Yes but technically no... since I'm adopted and Senior Wei isn't blood related to you"
Sure but that still meant they were cousins.
"But let's be friends from now on ok?" Sizhui asked with a warm smile on his face.
Jin ling felt it again. The warm feeling he got when his uncle hugged him... god—why the hell would he be feeling this way with a guy he has just met? His heart was beating fast...this was all a new feeling to him...what exactly am I feeling.
"Jin ling?" Sizhui said as he touched Jin ling's shoulder.
"Ah..yes of course..I would love to be friends with you" Jin ling said with a smile. Today somehow Jin ling felt on top of the world, he finally made a friend other than his dog fairy....
But.... is it normal if your heart beats for your 'friend?'
"Lan zhan~~"
"Hm?"
"Do you think they suit each other?~~~"
"Answer me or I will not sleep with you today.
"No. They are too different."
"Hmm really"
"Mn"
"I mean weren't we also polar opposites and now look at us"
"Mm" Lan Wangji pulled Wei Wuxian gently in a conner and kissed him.
"Lan zhan." Wei Wuxian pulled back.
"Hm?"
"Let's go to the bedroom,"
Lan Wangji nodded and off they went to the jingshi to do "everyday means everyday"
