In the cave, it was awkward and too silent; you could hear the racing heartbeat of the two young guys who had just had their first kiss, and now they were simply intensely staring at each other until one of them had the guts to start talking.

"Sizhui how's your injury ?"Jingyi asked concerned.
"It's alright and it's stopped hurting, so I'm fine," Sizhui responded, smiling as usual, but he was sad that he couldn't say what he wanted to say, and he believes that bringing up the subject again would be awkward and uncomfortable.
Jin ling couldn't help but notice that Sizhui was about to say something very important when those two jerks barged in. Talk about timing.
Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji also ended up catching up to the juniors and said, "Here you kids are."
"Shall we go out and back and celebrate our mission's completion?" Wei Wuxian wanted to make one individual in particular intoxicated, as well as possibly another. Lan Wangji stood there, as he always did, with a stony expression, backing his loved one's every wild plan.
They were out of the cave and on the mountain path down after quite a bit of walking. Except for Wei Wuxian's humming, everyone remained silent. Everyone assumed they had to be listening to the humming so they didn't utter a word.
Sizhui was still considering how to revive the previous conversation and how he should confess. Confessing was a major deal for him, therefore he wasn't taking it lightly.
Jin ling, on the other hand, remained staring at the moving Sizhui in front of him, unsure of what Sizhui would say...was he going to reject him? That couldn't be right; if Sizhui didn't like the kiss, he'd have pushed him away, right?
They returned to the village a short time later, explained everything to the village head, gave him assurance that the creature would not harm them again, received their small reward, and were off to the cloud recesses. The journey would take them a day and a half, so they all decided to spend the night in an inn.
The inn they all chose to stay at was in a very popular city, so the city inns were full as usual, and there were other guests who wanted rooms as well, so they were given three rooms with one bed this time because all of the larger rooms with two beds were taken.
"Young maiden we can still have dinner has a group right?" Wuxian asked caressing her hand before she slapped it away. Jingyi and Jin ling started laughing in the back before he glared at them.
"Yes please follow me"
"Thank you and" Wei Wuxian motioned the lady to come closer so he can whisper while no one was noticing. "Can you bring alcohol in a water jug? And not that strong just normal"
The maiden chuckled "ok Sir please wait for it"
Then she left.
Everyone sat down at the table. "Why is there so much tension in the air, Lan Zhan look they're so awkward"

Even Jingyi was quiet and that was because everyone was starving and couldn't wait to eat.
The food arrived after 20 minutes.

"And here's the water," the maiden said, winking at Wei Wuxian, who grinned. As usual, Lan Wangji noticed the jug and immediately recognised that it contained alcohol. Because it was already too late, he didn't say anything.
The booze was being consumed like water by all four youngsters.
"Can you tell me why the water tastes strange?" Jin ling inquired.
"Yeah, it does taste strange," Jingyi added.
Sizhui detected the aroma of whatever it was before...alcohol. But he didn't say anything since he wasn't certain and his mind kept rethinking how he and Jin ling would sleep in the same bed.
Wei Wuxian took the jug away to hide the evidence of the alcohol, and they all continued to eat; no one asked about the "water" because they were all feeling strange since they had consumed alcohol, perhaps a bit tipsy?
Everyone had finished their meals and retired to their rooms.
Jin ling and Sizhui both washed up and walked up to the bed, where they lied down facing the other direction, without making eye contact.
It was suffocatingly quiet for a long time; it was probably an hour that passed but felt like an eternity. Jin ling's patience had run out.
"Ahhhg" Jin ling quietly yells in frustration making Sizhui turn back to him.
"What?" Sizhui questions.
"Complete"
"What? Sizhui questions again, confused more.
"Complete what you were going to say to me back in the cave before we got interrupted by those idiots"
Sizhui was shocked at the sudden approach but didn't mind it since he was going to say it anyway.
