                    One knock.
Then another followed.
They continued until a voice cut through the air, falling on deaf ears.
Inside the room was a boy sound asleep, his hands twitching and his face contorting into unreadable expressions. A nightmare was what he was experiencing, one of which he had never encountered before, one worse than he could have ever imagined. His door opened with little to no noise, a girl entering the dark atmosphere.
He didn't wake and she advanced towards him, a yawn the only thing she could muster before she sat on the floor by the bed. Her eyes wandered over his constantly changing expression, lips twitching downwards as she recognised what he was going through.
Not wanting to wake him, she placed a hand on top of his head, just letting it sit there while the boy began to tremble. Leaning her head on the side of the bed, she let her hand move. It travelled from his hair to down his arm before her fingers slid between his. Her eyes flickered to his face and they softened once she saw that his trembling had ceased to a simple shiver.
His facial expression morphed into a peaceful one, his eyes twitching. They cracked open slightly and she managed a smile while he stared at her for a moment. His mouth opened and closed a few times before it opened one last time as he processed his next words, sleep still tugging at his body.
"What are you doing here?" He mumbled, groaning tiredly as he scanned her soft features.
"Couldn't sleep. I came to check up you after speaking with Kyoka." Her smile fell and she let out a small yawn, leaning closer to the bed as she closed her eyes momentarily. "You were having a nightmare."
"Yeah. Yeah, I was," He murmured, moving to sit up, but stopped when his hand gripped anothers.
She noticed this and went to remove her hand from his, mumbling a quiet, "Sorry."
Before she untangled their fingers, Bakugou tugged her hand back. He gripped it tightly, pulling at her arm. She looked up, meeting his gaze for a split second before he looked to the side, the unlit room making it hard to see his expression from afar.
Looking back at her, he scowled before directing his gaze to the floor. "Get in the bed, you idiot."
She hummed in confusion, adding to his hidden embarrassment.
"You're tired and we both need sleep for hero training tomorrow," He sighed before lifting up the covers. "Just . . . Come here."
Without a second thought, she crawled in beside him and he lowered the blanket over her. Letting out a satisfied hum, she shuffled closer to the blond, liking the warmth he emitted. She let herself lean against him and inhaled, eyes opening slightly at the unexpected smell that invaded her senses.
"You smell like caramel." A small smile appeared on her lips at the amusing thought of him smelling like something completely opposite of his usual personality. "And you feel so warm."
He managed to crack a smile of his own when hearing her words, draping an arm over her waist and pulling her closer. Squeezing her hand that was still enangled with his, he hid his face in her hair, breathing in her scent as he drifted off to sleep.
