Arnold said nothing, but I felt his suddenly icy aura.
I felt relieved inside—fortunately they had good chemistry, otherwise I would definitely have been discovered by Arnold tonight.
Third Person Perspective
On the other side, the three little ones and Clara also collectively breathed a sigh of relief.
Paisley hadn't returned for so long, answered the phone without speaking, then suddenly hung up—something must have happened. So when the phone rang again, Clara cautiously tested the waters first.
As expected, something had indeed happened.
"Auntie, Elodie is worried about Mommy. Was Mommy captured by the bad daddy?"
Clara's face was also full of worry. Obviously, Paisley would only hide the children's identity when encountering Arnold.
So Paisley must be in Arnold's hands now.
"I'm going to save Mommy." Callum's little face was serious as he picked up his small backpack to go out.
"Me too." Elodie immediately followed, the little one full of determination.
Clara grabbed both little ones, one in each hand. "Go where? You can't go anywhere. What your mommy fears most is you being discovered. Are you going to deliver yourselves to his doorstep?"
"But Mommy was taken away by the bad daddy. Mommy is in danger." Elodie was extremely anxious.
"Trust Auntie Clara, your mommy isn't in danger right now. Arnold can't do anything to your mommy. As long as you aren't discovered by Arnold, she can feel at ease."
"But Elodie is worried about Mommy." Elodie's eyes reddened, looking like she was about to cry.
Clara quickly comforted her: "Don't cry, Elodie. Your mommy just told you not to worry—she must have a solution. Stay here with Auntie Clara and behave, okay?"
"But Mommy..."
Rowan came over and hugged Elodie. "Be good, Elodie. We need to listen to Mommy and stay here with Auntie Clara, otherwise Mommy will worry. Do you want Mommy to worry?"
"Elodie doesn't want that."
"So Elodie needs to be good."
Elodie looked at them with red eyes, trying hard to wipe away her tears. "Mm, Elodie is the most well-behaved."
Rowan looked at Callum. "Callum?"
Callum reluctantly put down his bag. "Callum will be good too."
After Callum and Elodie were persuaded, Clara shouldered the heavy responsibility of caring for all three of them. She couldn't let Paisley down and could only first coax them to go to bed.
The three little ones didn't cause her trouble and obediently went to lie down on their small beds.
Clara kept her heart tight with worry, gently closing their room door, then took out her phone to call Paisley, wanting to try asking what had happened.
But Paisley's phone was unreachable.
Clara was anxious but could do nothing. She understood too well that what Paisley truly feared was the children being discovered, so her most important task was to take good care of these three children.
Clara turned off the living room lights and returned to her room.
Half an hour later.
In the darkness.
Everything was quiet.
A small figure quietly slipped out of the room, feeling around in the dark, silently opening the front door.
The small figure smoothly slipped through the door crack.
Gently closing the door, with no one noticing, the little one relievedly turned on a flashlight.
Two figures ahead suddenly turned around.
Callum's eyes widened. "Rowan, Elodie?"
The three little ones looked at each other's gear, instantly understanding each other's intentions.
"You're also planning to save Mommy?" all three said in unison.
Rowan slapped his forehead. "We're truly worthy of being Mommy's children."
Elodie: "Mommy was captured by the bad daddy. How can Elodie just sit and wait?"
Callum completely agreed: "Exactly, exactly."
Rowan was helpless. He had originally planned to go alone, but now... well, he could only take them together.
"You two stick close to me."
Elodie nodded vigorously. "Mm mm, Elodie is the most obedient and will definitely listen."
Paisley's Perspective:
I was forcibly brought back to the presidential suite at the hotel by Arnold.
Hearing the door open, Victoria joyfully came out. "Arnold, you're back..."
Suddenly, seeing me standing beside Arnold, her voice caught.
"Paisley?" Victoria couldn't believe it.
I lifted my eyes and saw Victoria, her expression turning cold.
When my mother died, Victoria wore a red dress to my mother's funeral and told me that the reason Arnold didn't come was because he was accompanying her to care for her mother.
I knew Victoria did it on purpose, deliberately trying to hurt me.
Unfortunately, back then I was devastated by my mother's death and recognizing my husband's true nature, so I couldn't control my emotions. Even knowing Victoria's intentions, I still played into her hands and divorced.
Victoria must have been so pleased with herself then.
