Paisley's Perspective
As soon as the sun rose, I woke up the three little ones who were still fast asleep. Although I couldn't bear to, I was really afraid someone might suddenly come in.
Just to be safe, I had to make them hide under the bed again.
Sure enough, it wasn't long before someone knocked on the door.
I went to open it—it was Neil, Arnold's personal assistant.
He stood at the doorway with his usual calm, polite expression: "Mrs..."
I immediately interrupted him: "He and I are already divorced. You don't need to call me Mrs."
He paused, then corrected himself: "Uh... Miss Reynolds, the private jet is ready. Mr. Cavendish and Miss Hayes have already gone ahead. Please come with me."
I nodded: "Alright."
Before leaving, I glanced back at the room and happened to see Callum quietly poking his little head out from under the bed.
My eyes sharpened as I immediately gestured for him to hide back quickly.
Callum obediently retreated and whispered: "Mommy's leaving now."
Under the bed, Elodie nestled between her two brothers and asked softly: "What about us? Mommy said to stay in England... but I'm afraid the bad daddy will take Mommy away and bully her."
Callum agreed: "Yeah, I think so too. There's also a bad auntie next to the bad daddy."
The two little heads looked at each other, and Callum's eyes lit up: "How about we secretly go to New York too, to secretly protect Mommy?"
Elodie's eyes immediately sparkled: "Elodie supports this!" Then she turned to Rowan: "What do you think, Rowan?"
Rowan frowned, predictably disagreeing: "I don't think this is quite..."
Before he could finish, Elodie had already happily turned to Callum: "Rowan said okay!"
Callum immediately played along: "Good, then we'll ask the weird uncle to help send us to New York too."
Elodie tugged at Rowan's sleeve, asking seriously: "Rowan, are you afraid Mommy will be bullied?"
"...Yes."
"Then do you want Mommy to be bullied?"
"...No."
"Then who can protect Mommy now?"
"...Us."
Elodie nodded with bright eyes: "Exactly! So we need to go back and protect her now, right?"
Rowan was silent for three seconds, then finally sighed softly and nodded resignedly.
"Let's do it!" Callum and Elodie high-fived, forming their little "secret alliance."
Rowan was exasperated, knowing in his heart this was too risky, but unable to refuse their determination.
Five hours later—
Arnold's private jet landed smoothly on the private tarmac at New York International Airport.
Standing at the cabin door, I looked at this familiar yet distant city with indescribably complex emotions.
I once thought I'd never return, especially not in this way.
After getting off the plane, Arnold and Victoria walked ahead while I was arranged to walk behind them.
Even though I hadn't done anything, four fully armed bodyguards still followed behind me.
I sneered coldly—was he afraid I'd run away, or afraid I'd die?
As we walked, I stopped and looked at Neil: "I need to use the restroom."
Neil immediately stopped: "Miss Reynolds, please be quick. We'll wait for you."
"Mm." I nodded and turned toward the restroom.
I was already quickly weighing every next step in my mind.
Arnold stopped and looked at me walking in the opposite direction, asking: "What is she doing?"
Neil replied: "Miss Reynolds said she's going to the restroom."
Arnold frowned.
If this woman wanted to delay time, she should just say so directly.
He felt somewhat impatient but still stopped to wait for me.
At this time, the three little ones had also arrived in New York on a private jet. At the airport, they walked out of the terminal.
Callum lifted his little head to look around: "So this is the city where Mommy grew up."
Elodie bounced happily: "Mommy will definitely be so happy to see us."
Rowan shook his head, seriously keeping a straight face as he watched the rambunctious Callum and Elodie beside him.
He believed Mommy wouldn't be surprised to see them—only shocked.
Rowan sighed.
So worrying.
Elodie: "I need to use the bathroom."
"I'll go with you."
"No need, brothers wait here for Elodie."
After saying this, Elodie immediately ran toward the restroom.
The little one was in a hurry, running quite fast without watching where she was going, and crashed head-first into someone. The person's legs were long and hard, causing Elodie to fall backward onto the ground.
Arnold's brow tightened as he looked down at the ground and saw a little girl sitting there.
"It's you!"
