I am a moon witch who can heal the disabled.
For three years with the wheelchair-bound alpha, I didn't just restore his ability to shift—I let him pull me into his lap again and again, losing myself in his desperate need.
In our most intimate moments, he'd hold me against his chest, begging desperately.
"Nyx, you're all I have. Promise me you'll never leave, okay?"
My heart ached for him. I gave everything to heal his paralyzed legs.
But the moment he finally stood, he dropped to one knee before his first love.
"Isadora, be my Luna. I'm finally worthy of you."
She raised an eyebrow. "What about your little moon witch pet?"
Kael paused, then laughed. "Just a pathetic witch from the dying bloodlines. One crook of my finger and she'd crawl through fire for me."
"Does a nobody like that really deserve to stand beside an alpha like me?"
I stood frozen in the shadows, clutching the final sacred needle—the one that would have permanently healed his legs.
He didn't know that without it, he would be paralyzed again within three moon cycles.
And this time, even the Moon Goddess herself couldn't save him.
"Yes... Kael... harder..."
Isadora's cries mixed with his animalistic grunts drifted through the walls.
I quietly packed my things and left the packhouse without a word.
If he wanted his golden princess, just let him have her.
But I never expected that the next morning, Kael's black Porsche blocked my cottage driveway.
He leaned against the hood, arms crosse. "Where the hell did you go last night? Even without a goodbye?"
I glanced at him indifferently and kept my distance. "You seemed busy. I didn't want to interrupt."
"Upset about Isadora?" His lips curved in that familiar smirk. "Nyx, what gives you the right to be jealous? You're nobody—no pack, no bloodline, even dream of being my Luna?"
My mouth quivered. Shame burned through me like liquid fire.
"Alpha, You're right. I have no right to be upset. That's why I decided to leave last night."
His eyes flashed. Before I could react, he shoved me into the passenger seat.
Then he buckled my seatbelt, his voice softening.
"Isadora is ShadowPine Pack's princess—a perfect one to be my Luna. But you're only my soul mate, needless to have a title."
"Be good. I'll set you up somewhere nice. We can still be like before."
What a fucking laugh. So disgusting.
Before I could refuse, DING! his phone rang.
"Kael! Rogues are harassing me at Nightfall!" Isadora sobbed through the speaker.
His face instantly darkened. Without a word, he sped toward the club.
The moment he spotted the male rogues surrounding Isadora. His protective instincts flared.
"Stay put." He shoved me aside and directly charged into the fight.
I didn't stop him. Just watching him fight for Isadora, totally reckless with his own legs.
Fucking ironic. I'd poured everything into healing those legs—he didn't give a shit about them.
Isadora's friend smirked at me. "Poor little witch still following him around? His legs work now—what's your use?"
Fucking idiot.
She had no clue. His healing was just borrowed time. Without my final sacred needle, he'd be crippled again in three moon cycles.
This time, even the Moon Goddess herself couldn't save him.
Chaos erupted. Suddenly, someone shoved me into the crowd.
Crack!
Everything blurred. Someone smashed a bottle into my head.
Sharp pain. Warm blood. My ears screamed.
As darkness claimed me, I watched Kael hold Isadora tight.
He shielded her head, eyes wide with panic—but not for me.
