"Who are these for, Ma'am?" ask the young boy.
"No one, just for me." Jennie answered in between hiccups. "Wrap them nicely, okay. Like really beautiful."
"This will take a while, you might get bored."
"I will wait. I've no important places to go anyway."
"Ma'am, it looks like you just cried." the boy asks with a worried tone. "Did your lover left you?"
She nod her head as a 'yes'.
"With that beautiful face of yours?" he ask in disbelief. "Whoever that is must be really stupid, Ma'am!"
She only gave him a smile as a response.
The kid was about to speak when someone caught his attention. "Hwejangnim, long time no see!" he greeted. "How's your grumpy wife?"
"Still bipolar. She said she's going to leave me this time for real." The woman took a stem of rose. "I'll get one. How much is this again?"
She was surprised to see who the woman is.
"3,000 won, Hwejangnim."
"Why so expensive?" the Thai complain. "The last time I bought these it's only 2,500, right?" Lisa handed the rose to her but she just ignore her.
"Fine. It's 2,500 then." the kid said while picking flowers from the bucket. "Anyway, what did you do this time, Hwejangnim?"
"Yah, I'm not the one at fault here, it's her." Lisa glances at her while talking. "But still had the nerve to get mad at me."
"Did she yell at you?" the young boy asks while arranging the flowers.
"She didn't just yelled at me." L said smiling. "She stepped on my foot, it still hurts til now."
"I know that style, Hwejangnim." the boy said while laughing. "Maybe she saw you with a different woman, am I right? She got jealous!"
"How did you know?" Lisa glances at her again.
"Hey, kid, I don't think she is." Jennie tried to deny it when she saw the smirk on Lisa's face.
"I saw it on the dramas that I'm watching online! Jealousy is always the reason when it comes to that kind of case."
"Hmm, I think the woman is ugly so there's no need be jealous." Jennie insisted.
"What does the woman looks like, Hwejangnim?" the kid glances at Lisa before working on the flowers again.
"She's beautiful, has a sexy body, smart and very generous.." Lisa even said the last word with a firmer tone which made Jennie grits her teeth. "Let's me also add the fact that she's really sweet so it's not that hard to love her."
"Aigoo, you're wife got really jealous. She must be so insecure." The boy laughed. "Is your wife not that pretty, Hwejangnim?"
"Just slightly." Lisa answer. She even shook her head and grimace.
"Yah, can you make it quick?" Jennie's nostrils almost flared. "I want to get out of here as soon as possible. I'm suddenly feeling irritated."
"What should I do?" Lisa continued like she didn't hear what Jennie said.
"You have to pacify her." the young boy said while tying the roses.
"How?"
"Go to her and give her a hug!"
Lisa went to Jennie and wrapped her arms around the fuming kitten's waist. "And then?" she ask still with a playful tone while trying to keep her from getting away from her hold.
"Get your face closer to her." the kid was still busy arranging the flowers. "Like there's only two inches distance away."
"And after I did that?"
"Tell her that she shouldn't be jealous because that woman she's jealous of has got nothing with her sex appeal."
Lisa brought her lips close to her ear and whisper. "Did you hear that?"
Jennie only leer at her as an answer.
"Tell her that you love her very much and..."
"...I will tell her that there's nothing to worry about because I will fight the people who wants to break us apart." Lisa continued while holding Jennie firmly inside her arms. "Now fast forward it to the part where I will kiss her."
"Stare directly into her eyes, Hwejangnim, give her some flirty looks. Wait for about five seconds and then you can kiss her."
Lisa tried to kiss her but she pulled away. "What if she avoided it?" Lisa ask with a laugh, while scratching the back of her head.
"Then kiss her again, my goodness, did you really have to ask me that?" It's as if the young boy had lost his patience already. "You're already a grown up and yet you can't do this kind of things on your own? Aigoo!"
"Oh no, he's getting mad... he said I have to kiss you now." Jennie was about to speak but L took the opportunity and kisses her. She finally cave in.
It was the exact moment the young boy had finished wrapping the flowers and faces them. His eyes were going back and forth between the two of them. He already have a conclusion of who the woman ordering a bouquet of flowers is.
Both were holding onto each other tightly. "I thought I already lost you to that bastard sister of mine."
Jennie laughs. "Ahyu~ Somi is like a sister to me."
"She's really going to be your sister once we get married." Lisa said and peck her cheek.
"Hwejangnim, really? Right in front of my flowers?" the boy butted in.
Jennie furrowed her eyebrows. "What about your mother?"
"We talked this morning, just the two of us." says Lisa. "She asked us to give her more time."
"Us." Even just that one word felt like heaven in her ears. She tiptoed, wrapped her arms around Lisa's neck and peck her all over her face. "I love you so much."
"I know." Lisa simply said. "But I love you so much more." she claimed Jennie's mouth again without minding the people who had been watching them since a while ago.
A year after they got married, Jennie gave birth to her and Lisa's first baby.
"Someone wants to see you." Lisa announced and kissed her on the forehead. "I'll be outside."
"Mrs. Manoban?" Jennie said in surprised when she saw who her guest is.
"Hello, Jennie." Caroline greeted her with a small smile.
"W-When did you arrive from your flight?"
"Just now. I immediately book a flight back here when Lisa called to tell me that you are in the delivery room. My daughter gets weak when we talk about you and the baby."
"We're all happy that you're finally back here in Korea."
"Me too. Visiting that temple in Japan helps me alot. A monk told me that I looked like someone with a tired soul." Caroline hold onto her arm. "I stayed there for months for soul searching. That's when I realized that my daughter's happiness is far more important than my pain."
"I'm really sorry for what happened--"
"No, Dear. It's not your fault. If there's anyone I have to forgive here, it is my self. I always blamed myself for not being good enough for Lisa's father." Caroline sighed deeply. "Let's not talk about your mother for now. I know she's just a victim of time like me. But I still can't--"
"I understand." Jennie just said to save her mother in law from feeling more pain from her memories of the past. "We can talk about it when were both ready."
"Does that mean you're already forgiving me for the pain and insult I've caused you?" The widow said with remorse.
"You're the mother of the woman I love." Jennie said. "That's reason enough to forgive."
Caroline smiled at her in gratitude and stares at the baby sleeping beside her. "Lisa almost jumped in joy when she learn that the baby is a boy." she said and slightly push the thin blanket covering the newborn's forehead. "What's his name?"
"Lei." Jennie answered with a smile. "Leighton Manoban."
"Can I carry him?"
Jennie nodded with a smile.
"Oh, Mama, careful." Lisa said with her head peeping through the door and saw her mother carrying their baby. She entered the hospital suite again. "It's been a while since you carried us in your arms."
"No broken windows?" says Somi with a laugh while standing behind her sister.
"Lisa, look at your son!" their mother stated with teary eyes. "It looks like your face has been cut and pasted on your son's."
"Yeah, but this one is going to take after her aunt Somi." says her younger sister while playing with the baby's small hand.
"Get your filthy hands off my child, Ennik Somi." Lisa berated and slap her sister's hand. "If you want someone to take after you go make your own!"
The room was filled with laughter.
