Thirty-Six
The next morning Robert woke up and got ready. He had a lot of things to take care of before the party started later tonight. Robert walked out of his room and ran into Rose. She had been in a really foul mood ever since Vince dumped her for Nora.
"God why don't you watch where you are going, you jerk!" Rose snapped at him as she pushed him out of the way.
"Good morning to you too, Rose." Robert chuckled as he walked down the stairs. He walked into the kitchen and greeted his mom and Nora.
"Good morning mom and Nora," he gave them a kiss on the cheek and sat down in front of Nora. His mom passed him a plate of food.
"You're in a good mood this morning." Nora said.
"It's a beautiful day how can you not be in a good mood. Can you pass me the hot sauce?" Nora handed him the hot sauce, "So things have been going good between you and that special person you are always with?" Tanya asked. Robert smiled; it had been a long time since she had seen him smile that big.
"Yes mom, it's been going really great."
"I'm glad mijo, you deserve to be happy."
"Thanks mom, so what do we need to get ready for the party?"
"Oh god, don't get me started, we have so much to do and I can only rely on you and Nora for help." Tanya got up and took everyone's empty plate to the sink.
"Hey we can always get Vince and Vera to help out too." Nora said.
"I don't want to bother them."
"Oh come on mom, you know they are always willing to help when they can." Robert said.
"Oh fine. But only if they don't mind." Tanya said.
"Ok then I'll call them and we can start getting everything ready." Nora said as she got up and went upstairs to call them. Robert got started on the dishes as his mom finished cleaning up the table.
"So did you invite Preston to the party?" Tanya asked.
"I did, but he is coming with Vera as her date. Since you know I can't come to the party with him as my date." Robert said. Tanya knew how much it was killing him not to be able to be with Preston out in public like he wanted to be.
"I wish there was something I could do so you can bring him as your date."
"I know mom, but until I finish school or if for some reason uncle is ok with it. I'm just going to have to wait it out."
"Well at least you're with someone who understands and is willing to wait."
"Yeah I know, well I'm going to see if Nora called them all ready. Then I'll come back to see where you want to start first."
"Ok mijo." Robert went back upstairs to talk to Nora.
Preston woke up that morning and didn't feel like getting out of bed. Today was the Christmas party at Robert's house and he wanted him to be there. Preston felt like it wasn't a good idea, what if he let it slip that he and Robert were dating? What if someone is able to catch on that they were more than just friends? These and so many other questions ran thought his head. He had to find a way out from going tonight; it was stressing him out too much. He decided to call Vera; maybe she could talk Robert out of having him over there tonight? He dialed her number and waited for her to answer.
"Hey Preston what's up?" Vera said.
"I can't go tonight." Preston said.
"Why not, you know Robert is going to be upset if you don't come." Preston knew that, but he didn't want to be there with all these people he didn't know.
"I just think it's not a good idea if I'm there. Vera so many things can go wrong with me there. What if I let it slip that me and Robert are dating? You know that can't be good for Robert if his uncle found out." Vera knew, but Preston had to go, Robert told her it was very important that he showed up tonight.
"Your just worrying over nothing, I'm going to be by your side the whole night. I would never let you spill the beans about you and Robert. So you better be ready by six thirty, that's the time I will be picking you up." There was no point in arguing with her, his fate was sealed and had no choice but to go to the party tonight.
"Ok fine, I'll be ready at that time. I guess I will see you then." Preston said and hung up the phone. Now he just had to figure out what he was going to wear tonight.
"Who was that on the phone?" Robert asked as he joined Vera at the checkout.
"Your lover boy, he was trying to get out of coming tonight." Vera replied.
"He is still coming right?" Robert asked.
"Of course, I didn't really give him a choice. So what's this about him having to come tonight?"
"Well since he wouldn't let me waste money on a gift for him, I decided to give him a romantic night alone."
"Aww that is so sweet. Where are you going to take him if you can't waste any money on a room?"
"The tree house, I have it all set up for tonight just need him to show up."
"Aren't you worried about your uncle seeing you?"
"Nope, he gets so drunk at the party he won't even notice that I am gone. Besides no one but me and Nora go to it anyway."
"Great, now that is going to leave me alone for the night."
"Sorry I know, but it was the only thing I could think of that was free."
"I'm just kidding; I was going to leave early anyway. Xavier wants to hang out tonight."
"You and Xavier hum, things getting serious between you two?"
"Oh my god we are just friends, can't a girl and a boy just be friends? Beside you and I are friends and there is nothing between us?"
"Oh come on I know there is something there and besides you're not really my type now. Just don't wait too long now." Robert winked at her.
"Whatever you say Robert, now come on we still have a lot more things we need to pick up for your mom." By the time they got back to Robert's house, Tanya had people running everywhere setting up everything. Vera and Robert place the bags where she told them and told them to go get ready.
"Ok Vera I will see you later." Robert said as he went upstairs to get ready.
Preston was just about ready when he heard his mom calling him that his ride was here. Preston looked in the mirror one more time before going downstairs. He had chosen black slacks and a dark blue button up shirt. He knew how much blue brings out his eyes more and Robert liked the color on him as well. Preston got downstairs and saw Vera waiting for him; she looked beautiful in her black dress.
"Hey Vera you look really beautiful in your dress." Preston said as he hugged and kissed her on the cheek.
"Thank you Preston, you look really handsome." Vera said "Well if you're ready, let's go." Preston told his mom goodbye and to not wait up for him. They drove in silence to Robert's house; this was going to be the first time he was ever going to be there. Preston was starting to fidget as Vera pulled up to the house.
"Hey relax; we are not going to leave you by yourself at all tonight." Vera said.
"I know, it's just in my nature to fidget." Preston took a deep breath. "Ok I'm ready let's get this over with." Vera laughed and got out of the car. She grabbed Preston's hand and together they walked up to the house.
Robert was pacing around in his room, it was already seven thirty, and Vera and Preston hadn't showed up yet. He had a feeling that Preston backed out at the last minute. If he did that, it would ruin everything he had planned for later tonight. Just when he was about to call, Nora walked into his room.
"Hey Vera and Preston just got here."
"Ok thanks, I'll be there in a minute." Robert said, he gave himself one more look in the mirror and went downstairs. He found Vera and Preston talking in the living room; the party had just started to get full of people. Robert greeted people on his way to where they were standing. When he was finally able to reach them, he looked at Preston and he felt like someone had just knocked the air out of him. Preston looked breathtaking, his dark blue shirt really made his eyes come out. It was going to take every ounce of self-control to keep him from wanting to make out with him.
"Hey guys, I didn't think you two were ever going to show up." Robert said.
"Yeah sorry that was my fault, I was running late. I didn't think I was going to take that long to get ready." Vera said as she looked at Robert, she could see it was killing him t not to be able to be near Preston. She didn't know why he would torture himself like this.
"Would you like a tour of the house, plenty of places no one ever gets to see?" Robert asked. It looked like more people were arriving by the minute. He could use some time away from all the people.
"Ok let's go, are you coming too Vera?" Preston asked.
"No you two enjoy yourselves, I'll just wait here until you get back." Vera said. Just when Robert was going to grab Preston's hand and lead him away, he is stopped by his uncle.
"Robert there you are, I want you to meet some of my new clients. Who is this?" his uncle said as he noticed Preston behind him.
"Oh this is Preston and he is Vera's date, I was just going to give him a tour of the house." Robert said.
"Oh ok, well that can wait until later. Come on I need you over here for now."
"Yes sir, right behind you." Robert turned around and said to Preston, "Sorry, I promise as soon as I'm done I will find you and take you on that tour." Preston nodded and watched as Robert walked off with his uncle. He could see why Robert didn't like him very much.
"So what do you want to do until he comes back?" Vera asked.
"I don't know, I guess we can go find Nora and Vince. Talk to them until Robert is done." Preston said.
"Ok I think I saw them in the kitchen." They walked to the kitchen but were stopped by Rose.
"Hey Vera, long time no see. Where have you been and who is this gorgeous creature?" Rose asked.
"Just been busy with things at school and this is my date Preston." Vera replied.
"Hum what a shame; I could use a new boyfriend. Well, I will talk to you later and I'll be seeing you around later Preston." Rose winked and caressed Preston's arm as she walked off to the living room.
"Oh my god, that girl is very blunt isn't she?" Preston asked.
"Yup that's Rose for you, I would try to stay away from her if I were you." Vera said.
"Oh trust me; I don't plan on ever going anywhere alone now if she is here." Vera laughed and shook her head; they walked into the kitchen and found Nora and Vince at the table eating.
"Hey guys, what are you two doing in here?" Vera asked.
"What else but Mr. bottomless pit over here was hungry? You would think he was the one eating for two." Nora said.
"Babe you know I eat a lot. Since you're pregnant and I know it's just your hormones that are making you cranky I won't take it personally." Vince said. Preston and Vera laughed.
"Ok whatever you say Vince, so where is Robert?" Nora asked.
"Oh he had to rub elbows with some of your uncle's new clients." Vera said.
"Bummer, I just know how much he hates having to do that. God he might be talking to all these people all night." Nora said.
"Well I hope not, so what do you guys want to do?" Vera asked.
"Can we just stay in here; I really don't want to go out there again." Preston said.
"Oh yeah I forgot to tell you, Rose was trying to hit up Preston." Vera said.
"Oh my god, you're joking right?" Nora said.
"I wish she was, my god that girl have no self-respect for herself." Preston said.
"You got that right, well I guess we could stay here or we can go to the game room." Nora said. They all nodded their head and headed to the game room. A few hours had passed and Preston still hadn't seen Robert since he left with his uncle. Preston was wondering if he should go see what he was doing and find out if he was done.
"Hey Nora where is the closest bathroom?" Preston asked.
"Go down the hallway, take a right and it will be the door on your left." Nora said.
"Ok I'll be right back." Preston walked out into the hall way and followed Nora's directions. He found the bathroom and did his business. When he walked out of the bathroom, he had felt someone wrap their arms around his waist and started kissing his neck.
"I have been waiting to do that all night." When he turned around, he saw it was Robert he let out a sigh of relief.
"Oh my god you scared me I thought it was someone else." Preston said.
"Who else would it be?" Robert asked.
"Your cousin Rose was hitting on me earlier." Robert laughed.
"Oh my god that girl has no shame, don't worry I'm here now." Robert pushes Preston up against the wall and started to kiss him, slowly moving down his neck. Preston let out a small moan as he pushed Robert off of him.
"Robert stop, someone can catch us." Preston said.
"Ok, but come on I have a surprise for you. It's your Christmas gift and no I didn't really spend money on it." Robert led Preston back downstairs and out the back door.
Rose watched as they left, she couldn't believe her eyes. She just saw her brother kissing a boy. She had taken a picture to have proof that Robert was gay and he had a boyfriend. Oh her father was just going to love this when he found out.
Robert led Preston to a big tree house. He went up first and then he had Preston come up. When Preston got up there he couldn't see anything, it was pitch black.
"Ok close your eyes." Robert said.
"Really I can't see anything anyway." Preston said.
"You can either close your eyes or I'm going to put a blindfold on you."
"Ok fine, I am closing my eyes." Preston closed his eyes, he felt like he had them closed for ten minutes before Robert told him to open them. When Preston opened his eyes he saw candles lit, pillows, blankets spread out on the floor. Off to the side he had a bottle of champagne chilling in a bucket of ice and a plate full of chocolate covered strawberries.
"I know technically I had to spend some money on some of the stuff, but this is the closest I could get to a free gift, oh and one more thing." Robert walked over to his iPod and pushed play. When the song started to play, he recognized the song. It was Hero by Enrique Iglesias. It was one of his favorite songs.
"I know how much you like this song and I felt like it was the right song to have playing while I told you this. Ever since I met you, my life hasn't been the same. Having you in my life has made it better; you have made me a better person. You take away my breath whenever I see you; you make my heart skip a beat whenever you're near me. I will always love you and stand by your side whenever you need me. I know most would think I have lost my mind or that I'm in over my head by saying I love you, but I don't care. I want to be your hero." Preston was crying and smiling at the same time. He had never had anyone tell him something like that. Preston went up to Robert to give him a hug and a kiss.
"That was beautiful thank you and yes you can be my hero any day." Preston said. Robert looked into Preston's eyes and wiped away the last of his tears. Even with his puffy eyes and blotchy red face, he thought he was the most beautiful person in the world.
"There's one more thing," Robert sat on the floor and pulled Preston down with him. "If you still want to, I want this moment to be our first time." Preston has been waiting for this time and now that it was finally here he was lost for words. He just nodded his head. Robert laid Preston down as he kissed him and slowly made his way down his neck as he unbutton Preston's shirt. Preston started to unbutton Robert's shirt, once he was done he pulled it off and did the same to his shirt. Preston ran his hands over Robert's muscular chest and abs. Preston unbutton Robert's pants and helped him take them off. Robert went to unbutton Preston's pant when Preston stopped him.
"Are you sure you want to do this? It's not going to be the same like it is with a girl, if you truly are not ready for this we don't have to do this." Preston said. Robert looked deep into his eyes, he was sure this is what he wanted.
"Preston I love you and yes I know it's not the same and I don't care. I just want to be with you. I'm not going to stop because you still think I'm going to be grossed out because you're a boy. I love you and the fact that you're a boy isn't going to change that. I have never been surer of anything then I am right now." Robert said, he kissed him and went back to unbuttoning his pants. Once he got them off, he went back to kissing him. Slowly moving down his body, he stopped when he reached the top of his boxers. He looked up at Preston to make sure it was ok, Preston nodded his head. Robert slowly started to pull down his boxers, but stopped when he saw a curious George tattoo on his right hip bone. Robert chuckled
"You're a fan of curious George?" Robert asked. Preston thought that was a weird question to ask while they were trying to have sex. Preston sat up to look at Robert and saw he had a smirk o his face. Then it clicked in his head he was talking about his tattoo.
"Yes I told you I think moneys are awesome and who else but curious George is the best monkey out there." Preston said and smiled at Robert.
"I never pegged you as the type that would get a tattoo; by the way that's kind of hot." Robert winked at him.
"Then maybe we should get matching tattoos and we can be hot together."
"Ok sure we can do that. It can't be that bad." Preston just smiled at him, Robert had no idea how much it was going to hurt, but he couldn't wait to see how Robert handles the pain. Robert went back to what he was doing; soon they were lost in the heat of the moment. They kissed each other all over their bodies. Robert caressed Preston's body; he like touching the softness of Preston's body. Their bodies were in sync with one another. Once they were done, they collapsed back on the floor. Robert pulled Preston into his arms. He could just fall asleep right with him in his arms.
"Were you serious about getting matching tattoos?" Robert asked as he let his fingers trace small circles on Preston's lower back.
"Yes, I mean we really love each other, why not get something that shows our love for each other."
"True ok let's do it, let's get matching tattoos, any ideas as to what you want to get?"
"Yes I do but I want it to be a surprise, you will just have to wait until Monday when we go get them." Preston said as he gave Robert a kiss on his lips.
"Ok," Robert stared at Preston, he felt so lucky to have him in his life. He never thought he could find a love like this. "I love you Preston and this has been the best night of my life." Preston looked deep into Roberts eyes; he was so in love with him. He kissed him and let Robert deepen the kiss.
"I love you too Robert, and thank you for giving me the greatest night of my life and I hope there is more of them to come." Preston turned his back to Robert, rested his head on Robert's chest and slowly drifted off to sleep. Robert kissed Preston on the cheek and whispered, "As long as we are together we will always have moments like this." Robert listened to Preston's steady breathing, it was like music to his ears and it had always helped him drift off to sleep.
Preston woke up the next morning to find himself still in Roberts's arms. He wondered what time it was. He needed to get home, he knew his mom was probably wondering where he was. Preston turned to face Robert, he looked so cute when he slept and he hated himself for having to shake him out of his sleep.
"Come on Nora let me sleep." Robert mumbled, Preston laughed at him; his poor snookum's must never get to sleep late.
"Snookum's you need to wake up before someone sees us." Preston said; he could see Robert slowly starting to wake up. When he opened his eyes and saw Preston he smiled.
"Morning amorcito, did you sleep well?"
"Yes I did, now come on let's get dress so you can take me home," Preston got up and started to put on his clothes.
"What the hurry I'm enjoying the view right now?" Robert asked as he watched Preston get dressed. Preston could feel his face get red.
"Oh shut up and get dressed." Preston tossed Robert his clothes and finished dressing. Robert laughed as he grabbed a hold of Preston's arm and pulled him back down to him. Robert started to kiss him and he was slowly making his to his neck, but Preston stopped him. The last time he let him do that, Robert had left him a huge hickey.
"No stop last time you did that you left me a hickey, that isn't going to happen again. Now hurry up before we are seen." Robert laughed at him and started to get dress.
"What about breakfast?"
"I'm not going out in my clothes from last night, you're going to take me home so I can shower then you can take me for breakfast."
"Ok fine come on then." They made their way to Robert's car and he took Preston home. When Robert pulled up to Preston's house, he told him he will be back later to pick him up.
"Ok I'll see you soon Robert, I love you." Preston kissed him and got off the car and went inside.
"Love you too amorcito." Robert waved at him and headed back home.
