I went overseas for a business partnership and ended up staying a few months to do some training.
When I got back three months later, I heard Leo had been in this horrible car crash—both his legs got completely mangled, and he'd be stuck in a wheelchair for life.
The person who hit him?Roxy Sharpe.
She got twenty-five years for aggravated assault with serious bodily injury.
I couldn't get my head around it. I thought she was obsessed with Leo?
So what, if she couldn't have him, she had to destroy him?
When I got home, I noticed my Ferrari wasn't in the garage.
Took forever to get Dad to tell me what really happened.
Leo had made him promise not to say anything.
That Ferrari was my pride and joy—I babied that thing, got it serviced every single month.
While I was out of the country, Leo had been taking it to the shop for me.
Roxy didn't know I was overseas. She'd been camping outside my house for like a month until she finally saw my car pull out.

After everything came out about Roxy and her scumbag cousin, her whole family disowned her.
People at work were talking shit about her, and she got completely blackballed from the industry.
She couldn't deal with how everything went to hell, so she decided it was all my fault.
I was the one she'd been trying to kill.
Day after I got back, I showed up at the hospital with some flowers.
Leo was in this fancy private room—no visitors except doctors and nurses.
I knocked and heard his voice through the door, flat but tense.
"Leave me alone!"
"Leo, it's me."
We both went dead quiet with just that door between us.
Finally, Leo had a nurse bring me two papers.
Signed divorce papers.
And some contract transferring his company shares.
He wanted to just hand over Hartwell Corp to me.
Later,we made the divorce official.
But I couldn't take his company—Dad said he'd kick my ass if I even thought about it.
A year later, I ran into Leo with prosthetic legs.
He was back to working.
And what about us?
We'd turned into the polite strangers like before...
