The next day, Leo came back to the office and made a statement at the morning briefing.
He straight-up fired the three employees who'd been giving Roxy the hardest time.
Two of them were my people.
Leo protecting Roxy so openly? Not shocked.
I mean, they're sleeping together now, so whatever.
What did catch me off guard was him bringing Roxy to tonight's family dinner.
Roxy had brought tons of gifts for Moria from their trip—all this health and wellness stuff.
Total brownnosing, and it worked. Had the old lady completely charmed.
When I walked in, Mom sent someone to get Dad and Leo from the den so we could eat.
She grabbed my hand and started going on about family stuff.
Leo walked into the dining room, shot me one look, then turned away.
Roxy strolled in behind him and just plopped down in the seat next to him—my seat.
Leo looked surprised for a hot second but didn't say shit.
What? We're still married.Still legally husband and wife.
But here he is taking his secretary everywhere, bringing her to family dinner, letting her sit in my position.
So fucking a bitch!
You could see how pleased Roxy was with herself.
The whole scene was so pathetic I actually laughed.
Moria pulled me over and patted the chair on her other side, beaming.
"Come sit here, honey."
"I made that special soup you love—the one with the chicken. You have to try it."
Moria had been my mother's best friend and always treated me like her own daughter.
Knowing what I was about to do made my stomach twist.
But I didn't have a choice.
Keeping my mouth shut and taking this crap? That's not me!
I squeezed Moria's hand back.
"Mom, I'm not staying for dinner. I came because I need to tell you guys something important."
Her smile disappeared.
"Can't this wait until after dinner, sweetheart?"
I shook my head and looked straight at Leo, finally saying what I'd been holding back for days.
"Mom, Dad—I'm divorcing Leo!"
The second those words came out, the whole dining room went dead quiet.
Even the smell of that fancy soup seemed to get thicker.
Dad stared at me like I'd lost my mind.
"Noelle, divorce isn't something you just decide. Especially you two—there's way too much involved."
"Honey, you two have always seemed so happy together. What's going on?"
Leo slammed his palm on the table and jumped up, finally showing some real emotion.
"Noelle, are you done with this bullshit?"
"All this drama over buying Roxy one damn dress? You've been acting crazy for weeks, and now you want a divorce?"
"Have you lost your fucking mind?!"
Dad's fist hit the table even harder.
"Watch your mouth!"
"Noelle, talk to us."
"Leo, I didn't want to embarass you. Since you don't want it, don't blame me."
I tossed the photos and flash drive onto the table.
"Mom, Dad—see for yourselves."
Leo lunged for the photos, his face going white as a sheet.
His hands were shaking so bad the pictures scattered everywhere, showing their sexy gestures in bed.
Mom picked one up with trembling fingers, tears already forming.
"Leo... what... what is this?"
Dad's face was stone cold, staring Leo down, waiting for answers.
Leo looked like he was about to explode, veins popping on his forehead.
"Noelle!"
"I loved you so many years? Fake some photos to destroy me?"
"You're really gonna throw away everything we had? Divorce with me?"
