The front doors slammed open. Three masked men stormed into the penthouse, armed and brutal, eyes scanning for their target.
Gabriel shoved Aria behind him, gun drawn. His calm, playful facade was gone—replaced by a cold, calculating killer.
“Stay down,” he whispered harshly.
Aria crouched behind the granite kitchen island, her pulse pounding so hard she could hear it in her ears.
The first man fired. The bullet ricocheted off a marble pillar as Gabriel returned fire with precision, dropping him instantly.
The second attacker charged. Gabriel lunged, grabbing the man by the wrist, twisting until bones snapped. A shot rang out. Blood sprayed across the polished floor.
The last man raised his weapon—only to freeze as a second gun cocked from behind.
Dominic.
He stood in the entryway like a shadow pulled from hell itself, eyes black with fury, a pistol aimed directly at the intruder’s skull.
“You made two mistakes tonight,” Dominic said coldly. “You touched what’s mine… and you came into my home.”
He pulled the trigger. The man dropped lifelessly at his feet.
The silence afterward was deafening.
Dominic lowered his weapon, his chest rising and falling, but his eyes immediately found Aria. “Are you hurt?”
She stood slowly, her body trembling, but her voice was steady. “No. I’m fine.”
Gabriel holstered his weapon, his expression unreadable. “It seems you have more enemies than you thought, Moretti.”
Dominic didn’t even glance at him. “Get out, Gabriel.”
Gabriel held up his hands, backing away toward the door. “I was only here to protect her.” His eyes flicked to Aria one last time before he disappeared.
Dominic strode across the blood-soaked marble, cupping Aria’s face gently despite the rage burning beneath his skin. “I told you not to be alone.”
“I didn’t invite him here,” she whispered, her voice cracking. “He showed up on his own. I tried—”
He silenced her with a rough, desperate kiss. This wasn’t like before—it was violent with emotion, fierce with need. As if kissing her was the only way to keep himself from exploding completely.
His lips moved against hers like a promise and a threat. When he finally pulled back, his voice was low, raw.
“They’re trying to take you from me.”
Aria’s breathing was shaky. “Why me? Why am I their target?”
“Because you are the only weakness I have.” His fingers tightened against her waist. “And they know it.”
The truth settled heavily between them.
Aria’s voice was small but steady. “Then don’t make me your weakness, Dominic.”
“You already are.” His voice broke on the edge of control. “But I’ll kill anyone who dares to exploit it.”
The tension snapped as he lifted her, carrying her down the hall toward the bedroom. The door slammed shut behind them.
There, the storm inside both of them finally broke.
His mouth crashed against hers, tearing away the last of her resistance. Their bodies collided with heat and desperation. Clothes fell to the floor in a frenzy.
“You’re mine, Aria.”
“I’m not afraid of them,” she whispered breathlessly. “I’m only afraid of what you’re turning me into.”
“Then let me ruin you completely.”
The world outside faded as passion consumed them. But neither of them knew that while they surrendered to desire, Salvatore was watching everything unfo
ld on a second drone feed.
And his plan was only just beginning.
