The next morning, Aria stirred awake in their bed, her body deliciously sore, marked by every rough, possessive touch from the night before. The sunlight bathed the room in a deceptive calm.
Dominic stood at the edge of the bed, already dressed in black, but his eyes burned as they roamed over her bare body tangled in silk sheets.
“You should sleep more,” he said, voice deep.
“I’d rather you join me again,” she whispered with a teasing smile.
He smirked, but there was an edge behind his gaze. Something dark.
“Valentina made her next move.” His voice was calm, but dangerous. “She attacked one of our legitimate businesses — the shipping docks.”
Aria’s smile faded. “She’s getting bold.”
“She’s desperate.” He sat on the bed, fingers trailing along her bare thigh. “She knows she can’t touch me directly. So she’ll keep coming for what matters most to me.”
His hand slid higher, igniting that spark between them again. Aria’s breath hitched. She knew this—his way of reclaiming her every time there was danger. Reminding himself she was safe. Still his.
“We should talk strategy,” she said breathlessly.
Dominic’s fingers pressed between her thighs. “We will.” His voice dipped lower, like silk wrapping around steel. “But first, I need to taste my peace.”
Her lips parted, pulse racing as his head dipped between her legs, tongue flicking, teasing, devouring. His hands gripped her thighs firmly, keeping her open, exposed only for him.
“Dominic—” she gasped, already trembling.
“Let them make war on me,” he rasped against her sensitive skin. “As long as I have you like this, I’ll burn them all to the ground.”
She writhed under his expert touch, losing herself as wave after wave of pleasure surged through her, until her scream echoed off the walls.
Only then did he rise, eyes dark with satisfaction. “Now we talk strategy.”
Hours later — The Warehouse
Dominic’s lieutenants gathered around the long steel table. The air was thick with tension.
“We need to cut Valentina’s oxygen,” Dominic said coldly. “Money. Territory. Power. We hit everything she has.”
Luca, his most trusted man, nodded. “And Gabriel?”
“He’s a loose end I intend to tie off.” Dominic’s voice was ice. “No one crosses me and breathes long after.”
Aria stood by his side, fully dressed in sleek black, radiating lethal elegance. She was not a decoration; she was part of this war.
“We take her at her strongest point,” Aria said calmly. “Her safe house.”
Several men exchanged glances. No one had ever dared attack Valentina directly in her fortress.
Dominic smiled darkly, pride flickering in his eyes as he looked at Aria. “That’s why she’ll never see it coming.”
That night — Dominic’s private armory
Dominic watched as Aria loaded her weapon with practiced hands.
“You’re coming,” he said. It wasn’t a question.
Aria lifted her chin. “I’m not staying behind while you fight a war that’s as much mine as it is yours.”
His eyes burned with something primal. His dangerous queen. His equal.
“You keep proving to me why I can’t live without you.”
She approached him, standing on her toes, whispering against his lips. “Then never try.”
Dominic crushed her against him in a kiss that was rough, hungry, filled with unspoken promises of what he’d do once the war was over.
And Aria knew — whatever blood would spill tonight, one thing was certain:
The Morettis were unstoppable.
