The morning sun did nothing to warm the chill that settled over the penthouse.
Aria sat in silence, sipping her coffee, her eyes glued to the man across from her.
Dominic.
The man who owned her body.
The man who was slowly slipping into a dangerous place in his mind.
His jaw clenched as he scrolled through files on the tablet. Every security feed. Every photo. Every trace of Alessandro that his men could find.
So far: nothing.
“He’s taunting you,” Aria whispered. “He wants you off balance.”
Dominic’s dark eyes flicked up to hers. “And it’s working.”
The silence hung heavy.
Aria finally broke it, her voice gentle but firm. “You don’t have to do this alone. Let me help.”
Dominic laughed, but there was no humor. “Help? By telling me how close you were to him? How he touched you? How he thought you belonged to him before I ever did?”
His words cut deep.
Aria stood, her voice rising. “That was years ago, Dominic! Before I knew what real love was. Before I knew what obsession felt like!”
His chair scraped back suddenly as he stood, closing the distance between them in two strides. His hand gripped her jaw, forcing her head back, breathing harshly against her lips.
“You’re not allowed to speak his name,” he rasped. “Not in my house. Not while you wear my ring.”
Tears pricked her eyes but she refused to look away. “Then claim me, Dominic. Prove to me that no one will ever take me from you.”
That was all it took.
He spun her around, slamming her against the tall glass window overlooking their city. The cold glass shocked her skin as his hands tore open her silk nightgown, exposing her breasts to the sunrise.
“You want proof?” he growled into her ear.
His hand slipped between her legs, already finding her wet and ready. “You crave this darkness inside me, don’t you?”
“Yes,” she gasped, her breath fogging the glass. “I crave you.”
Without warning, he entered her from behind, slamming into her hard and fast. The window vibrated with every brutal thrust as his growls filled the air.
“I don’t care who he was,” Dominic snarled. “I’ll mark you so deeply that even your fucking soul won’t remember anyone but me.”
Aria screamed his name as his pace grew wild, his teeth scraping her shoulder, his hands gripping her roughly.
Outside, the city belonged to them. But inside this room, Dominic made sure every inch of Aria knew who she belonged to.
When they finally collapsed onto the floor, tangled and breathless, Dominic held her tightly, voice hoarse against her ear.
“You’re my addiction, Aria. My greatest weakness. And my only strength.”
Her voic
e trembled as she whispered, “And you are my monster.”
