Dominic stared at the massive digital billboard outside Moretti headquarters.
And froze.
On it played a video — silent but deadly.
Grainy security footage. Aria. Years ago.
She was laughing. Happy. Her hand intertwined with Alessandro’s as they shared wine on a private terrace.
The words scrolled across the screen in blood-red letters:
> “She was mine first. And will be again.”
The entire city could see it. His enemies. His allies. His soldiers. Everyone.
A public humiliation.
Dominic’s men quickly scrambled to shut it down, but the damage was done.
His hands shook with pure rage as he stormed into the penthouse.
Aria was already there, having seen the footage herself. Her face was pale, her eyes wide.
“He wants to make you doubt me,” she said, her voice trembling. “You know that, right?”
Dominic’s jaw clenched. He wasn’t speaking. His silence was worse than any shouting.
“He wants you unbalanced,” she pleaded. “He wants you to question everything we’ve built.”
Dominic finally spoke, his voice dangerously quiet. “The world now thinks my queen once belonged to another man. That I stole you from him.”
“You did steal me,” she whispered. “You stole me from the life I never wanted. From a man I never loved. I belong to you. Only you.”
But Dominic wasn’t hearing reason. His mind was spinning, dark with old insecurities he never let anyone see. His control over everything had always been absolute — except now.
And Alessandro knew exactly where to strike.
“I should’ve killed him long ago,” Dominic muttered, pacing like a lion trapped in a shrinking cage.
Aria stepped closer, her voice soft but firm. “Then kill him now. But do not let him control this.”
She gently placed her hands on his chest, feeling the rapid, dangerous beat of his heart. “Don’t let him win by turning you into someone you’re not.”
He grabbed her wrists suddenly, staring down into her eyes. “You don’t understand, Aria. I am not like other men. My love is not gentle. I will destroy anyone who even breathes your name.”
Aria didn’t flinch. “Then let’s destroy him. Together.”
The tension between them was electric — but this time, it simmered without erupting into sex. The restraint only made it more dangerous. More intimate.
Dominic released her wrists slowly, his breathing unsteady. For a long moment, they stood in silence, forehead to forehead, hearts racing.
And then his
voice dropped into a whisper:
> “The hunt begins.”
