The private airstrip was silent under the moonlight. Dominic’s plane had just landed in Barcelona.
Luca led the team. The best. The most loyal. No mistakes would be tolerated tonight.
Aria stood beside Dominic as they approached the convoy waiting to take them to Alessandro’s estate. She hadn’t spoken much during the flight. She didn’t need to.
They both knew:
> This was personal.
This was final.
The Estate
The gates loomed tall — wrought iron, guarded by armed men who never saw the bullets coming.
Dominic’s men moved like shadows. Silent. Efficient.
Minutes later, the estate was cleared.
But Alessandro waited inside. Alone. Waiting.
The grand hall was eerily calm. Alessandro stood beside a long marble table, sipping expensive brandy as if welcoming old friends.
He smiled the moment Dominic and Aria entered.
“Aria,” he purred, his eyes scanning her slowly, deliberately. “Even more beautiful than I remembered.”
Dominic’s jaw flexed, but he remained silent for now.
“I see you’ve upgraded,” Alessandro added with a smirk, glancing at Dominic. “But does he love you, Aria? The way I did?”
Before Aria could answer, Dominic stepped forward, voice cold, lethal.
“You never loved her. You owned her like property. That’s the difference between us.”
Alessandro chuckled darkly. “And you don’t? Look at her. Look at how you hold her, cage her, mark her. You and I aren’t so different, Moretti.”
Dominic’s hand twitched near his gun. His restraint hung by a thread.
“I could have made her a queen without the blood, without the violence. She was promised to me long before you even knew she existed.”
Aria finally spoke, her voice steady and sharp.
“You’re wrong, Alessandro. You never offered me love. You offered me a prison. Dominic may be dangerous—but I chose him.”
Alessandro’s eyes narrowed. “You think he’ll protect you forever? One day, his obsession will turn on you too.”
Dominic’s voice was low, razor-sharp. “That day will never come. Because unlike you, I don’t lie to her about who I am. She loves my darkness.”
Alessandro smiled wickedly. “Are you sure, Aria? Or have you simply surrendered to the most powerful man in the room?”
Aria didn’t flinch. She stepped closer to Dominic, her hand resting on his chest. “I didn’t surrender to his power. I surrendered to his soul.”
The words hit like gunfire.
Dominic’s eyes burned with something dangerous — not rage, but overwhelming possessive devotion.
“I’ve heard enough,” Dominic rasped. “You breathed her name. You touched her once. That’s already too much.”
He drew his gun slowly, steady, deliberate. No hesitation.
Alessandro laughed, spreading his arms. “Killing me won’t change the past, Moretti.”
“No,” Dominic whispered. “But it ensures you don’t poison her future.”
The shot rang out.
Alessandro crumpled instantly, dead before he hit the ground.
After the Shot
Silence.
Only Aria’s breathing filled the room.
Dominic lowered the gun, his hand shaking—not from fear, but from everything he had allowed himself to become for her.
He turned to face Aria. His voice trembled for the first time.
“I would burn the entire world for you.”
Tears slid down her cheeks. Not out of fear, but because she believed him. Every word.
And that terrified her more than anything else ever could.
She whispered brokenly, “And I would let you.”
They stood in the middle of that blood-soaked hall—two lovers drowning in their obses
sion, their souls forever entangled in something far deeper than love.
Something irreversible.
