The air between them had changed since that rooftop conversation.
Dominic hadn't raised his voice. He hadn't locked her away.
No, he did something far more dangerous—
He became quiet. Calculated. Watchful.
Aria moved through the penthouse like a ghost in silk, feeling his presence behind every corner, in every room. She wasn't sure what version of him she’d meet next—the cold, obsessive husband… or the one who unraveled her without a single word.
That night, he didn’t summon her. He waited.
And Aria came to him.
He was standing by the floor-to-ceiling window, the city lights bleeding across his bare chest. A tumbler of dark whiskey rested in his hand, but he wasn’t drinking.
He was waiting.
“You haven’t touched me in days,” Aria said softly, her voice barely above a whisper.
Dominic turned slowly, and his gaze struck like a knife.
“I was waiting to see if you’d come willingly,” he said. “Or if I had to make you beg.”
Aria swallowed.
“I’m here.”
He smiled, but there was no warmth in it. “Then take off your dress. Slowly.”
Her fingers trembled, but she obeyed.
Each motion was deliberate—unhooking the straps, letting the satin fall inch by inch until it pooled at her feet. She stood in nothing but lace, breath quickening as Dominic stalked toward her.
“On your knees.”
She dropped without hesitation.
He tilted her chin up with one finger. “Good girl,” he murmured, voice low and lethal. “But don’t mistake this for love, Aria. This is control. And I’ll keep testing how far I can push you… until you either break or become mine in every way.”
Her heart pounded. Heat flooded between her thighs.
“I already am,” she whispered.
He undid his belt with terrifying calm.
“Then prove it.”
What followed wasn’t slow. It wasn’t sweet.
It was claiming.
Dominic didn’t kiss her gently. He took her mouth the same way he took her body—like it owed him something. Like it was his right.
Aria clawed at his back, breathless, crying out as he pushed her over the edge again and again until she wasn’t sure if she was begging him to stop—or to never stop.
When it was over, she collapsed onto his chest, exhausted and raw.
But Dominic wasn’t finished.
He leaned down, his breath hot against her ear.
“You surrender so beautifully when you’re broken.”
Aria’s eyes fluttered shut, a tear slipping free.
She didn’t know what scared her more—that he was right…
Or that she wanted to be broken for him.
