Fury coursed through me, gripping me tightly and clouding my senses. I narrowed my eyes as my jaw tensed. "Lorenzo..."
"Are you getting a divorce?" he asked, frowning deeply.
Dante stepped between us, trying to shield me away from my mother's rapist and murderer. I pushed Dante out of the way. 4
Yes, so, I never have to see your face ever again because I might kill you. You have no idea how many times I have imagined myself killing you with my bare hands... This is what I wanted to say, but I didn't.
I didn't say that, I put on the sweetest smile on my face and went in for a hug, "Lorenzo, I missed you."
"But you left me..." he whispered.
I pulled back, "I know and I am so sorry for that."
I heaved a deep sigh as I gazed at Lorenzo's hands, the same hands that had committed such atrocious acts. Despite the anger that was coursing through my veins, I wanted Lorenzo to see me in a positive light so I reminded myself that my dearest Lorenzo would be the one who would give me the chance to leave this place.
No matter what, Nikolai loved him like a little brother, and the people Nikolai trusted and loved, he would do anything for them. It's the one thing I admire about him. Nikolai would do anything to keep Lorenzo safe and alive, he was his man, his brother.
"You promised me that you will come back and we will talk but you never came back. I waited for you, I looked for you, Mrs. Costello. You are like my little sister and you left me," his voice sounded somber, but it was difficult to know what this robot of a man felt most of the time, he could be planning my murder for all I know.
I cringed as he called me his little sister. The little sister you would have killed if you knew she existed that day!
I smiled, "Let me make it up to you."
"You can make it up to me by coming back home and staying with Niko."
I placed my hand over his cheek, "Lorenzo, Niko, and I... We got into a fight and the last thing I want right now is to see his face. He made me wait for him so much, remember, and now it's his turn."
That made him laugh a little. He had always been a little robotic in his actions, he was far from a normal human being, when he kills he turns into the most vicious monster but when he loves someone, when he forms a deep connection with them, he trusts them fully, without a doubt. He was a little childish like that.
I tucked my hair behind my back and gestured toward our car, "Why don't you come with me? We can spend a day together..."
He looked between the car, Enzo, Dante, and me skeptically, "I... Um."
He was having trouble choosing to go with me because he didn't trust the men around me.
I held his hand, "Come on, Lorenzo, don't you trust me?"
He looked at my hand holding his, "I do, I do, Mrs. Costello but..."
"Boss?!" Dante looked at me with a pissed-off look on his face.
"I trust him, Dante." I turned to Lorenzo, smiling at him, "He is my best friend."
That made Lorenzo feel good about himself, he nodded, and I could see the satisfaction on his face. "Okay, let's go."
As Lorenzo was about to sit in the car with me, a man from his side yelled out his name, "LORENZO? Where are you going with them?!"
"I'm going with Mrs. Costello," Lorenzo answered.
"Does Don Niko know?"
Lorenzo looked at me and then back at the man in front of him, "Yes, he does. I trust her," his voice turned harsher as he talked to the other man.
Lorenzo sat in the car and I did too. We both were in the backseat while Dante went to the passenger side and settled beside his brother who was driving the car. I noticed how Lorenzo pulled out his gun, resting it on his lap.
Every two to three seconds, Enzo would glance at us through the rearview mirror while Dante had his eyes glued to us. His gun was ready in his hands.
"So, how's everything?" I asked, rummaging through my bag.
"Uh, it's been good," Lorenzo kept looking at me with a smile.
He was clearly too happy to see me but I couldn't bring myself to feel bad for him, I just didn't. He was the same man who would kill anyone without a second thought, he has no mercy and he deserved no mercy.
I finally got ahold of the syringe I was looking for, I turned towards Lorenzo as he rambled something about Nikolai, I didn't give a single shit.
Without letting him know of my next move, I jammed the needle right into his thigh, emptying the entire thing into his system.

Lorenzo hissed, hunching over. He grabbed his thigh and I pulled the syringe out. He looked at me with shock all over his face, "Mrs. Costello?" he breathed out.
"It's Evangeline, Lorenzo, I'm not fucking Mrs. Costello anymore!"
I heard Enzo laughing in the background and Dante gave me a nod of appreciation. I shrugged. "You don't have to use violence to kidnap someone, love is the greatest weapon of them all, right, Lorenzo?" I asked, as his head swayed from side to side.
"Mrs. Cos..."
The drugged had started to work and Lorenzo's head dropped to my lap. I caressed his hair, Nikolai would do anything for him.
I looked out of the window as the beautiful trees passed us by, "You know the best thing about the Costello men.." a sly smile formed over my lips. "All they remember is a sweetheart who wouldn't even hurt a fly. They really took me for a fool. They all did..." 2
Enzo laughed, "Okay, what are we gonna do with him?"
"We're gonna make Mr. Costello pay, we are going to threaten him with the life of his little brother. I'm getting a divorce, no way around that but it doesn't have to end with bloodshed--Still, I'm not quite sure if
I want to let this guy snoozing on my lap off the hook."
"What did he do?" Dante asked, frowning.
"He murdered Evangeline's parents on Costello's orders but before murdering Mary Moretti; he raped her first," Enzo explained to his brother.
Dante glanced at me before his gaze dropped to Lorenzo with disgust.
