DANI
Slowly, I dragged myself out of bed as I managed to get out of his cuddly, tight arms.
Terzo was still asleep. He must have been so exhausted for the last couple of days without proper sleep since our wedding in Las Vegas, traveling long hours to Palermo, then the incident with my father, the dinner, and the kidnapping that almost got us both killed. Not to mention the underground fight club.
It was still early. The sun hadn’t risen yet. Everyone in the house, including Gio and Marco, seemed to be still in bed. After I used the bathroom and changed to a new set of clothes, I snatched an apple from the basket on the table.
I really wanted to sip a cup of coffee, but I didn’t want to wake up the helper. I managed to familiarize myself with the house, its entrance, backdoors, windows, possible exits, and the CCTV at every corner outside the house.
I grabbed a car key from one of the keys hanging on the wall and used the main door so as not to make it look suspicious.
“Where are you going so early in the morning?” I yelped at the voice behind me. I didn’t even notice Terzo was already awake, or that he had been awake before I got out of bed.
I turned around. He was already wearing sweatpants, disheveled hair, barefoot, so hot with his dangerous alpha mafia appeal. “I just wanna go to your father’s house and see Celestina.”
“At this hour with a car key? What’s so important that it can’t wait until breakfast? Get back here, Dani. Put the key back where you took it and have breakfast. Let’s talk about your stupid plan.” He stepped closer and kissed me on the lips. “Buongiorno.”
“What plan?” I snapped. I was upset my plan didn’t work out.
“You’re a terrible liar. The more you practice your lie, the more it looks more obvious. Come on. Let’s have breakfast.” He held my hand and dragged me back to the kitchen. “Tell me about it. Maybe I can help you.”
I huffed. “I just wanna see Celestina, Terzo.”
We got to the kitchen, and that was the time he let my hand go, lifted me, and placed me on the stool like a child ready for a meal.
His kitchen was huge and impressive, with floor-to-ceiling windows offering a view of the garden. A well-designed dark solid wood storage, drawers, pull-out shelves, and modern lighting made it look more vibrant and spacious.
“Let me help.” I placed the apple back.
“Sit. Don’t move or I swear to God if you sneak out again and catch you, I’ll tie you to bed.”
“You’re overreacting. I just—”
“You wanna drive out of the compound, call your father to meet him, and then what?”
Was I really that transparent? I glared at him as he pushed some buttons on his hi-tech coffee machine. “What made you think I wanna talk to my father? He’s a jackass—”
“Haven’t you suggested that last night?” His voice was stern. Then he turned. His posture was stoic, his eyes narrowing so intensely to the point that I felt it burned holes in my head. “Let me work on a solution. You stay put. Do you hear me?”
“Or you tie me to bed. Got it.” I shut my mouth.
While the coffee was brewing, he preheated the oven, grabbed some ingredients from the fridge, and placed them on the counter. He grabbed a knife and a chopping board.
“Let me help.”
“Sit.”
I sighed and slid off the stool.
He glared, pointed the knife at me, and gestured at the stool without a word.
“You’re ridiculous. I can slice some veggies. I’m not totally useless.” I grabbed back the apple and made a huge bite. I chewed it noisily to irritate him.
He briefly looked at me and started slicing an onion. I must admit, I was impressed.
“What are you making?”
“If you’re not gonna tell me how awesome it was last night, I’m pissed off, Dani. I can’t believe you were about to throw yourself to that fucking lion. Again.”
I drew a deep breath and slid off the stool, even if he would order me or put me back in place. I joined him and squeezed him into a tight hug.
“What are you doing?”
“You’re making us breakfast. No one had ever done that to me before. So it’s me being grateful.”
“Well, your ex is a loser and stupid. I wouldn’t wonder why you chose to go to Russia rather than stay with him. Grab some eggs, will you? Take a bottle of marinara.”
I gladly did as he said. I grabbed a carton of eggs and what looked like a homemade marinara sauce. “Who made this?”
“Available from the farmer’s market, but the owner is a family friend. They make a delivery every week.”
I opened the lid and smelled it. My mouth watered, I swiped my finger and tasted it. “I love it.”
Terzo was already heating the pan, tossed the sliced onions and garlic, poured a good amount of olive oil, and the whole bottle of marinara sauce. Then he created wells using the spatula and dropped some eggs.
“Cheese, please?”
I opened the fridge again and looked around. There are many types of cheese, and I didn’t know which one he needed. “What kind of cheese?”
He chuckled and spanked my ass. “I’m making us simple baked eggs.”
I jumped, rubbing the spot that stung. “What was that for?”
“I like your ass.” He shut the fire off and put at least three kinds of cheese before he slid it into the oven. While waiting for the baked egg to be done, he chopped basil leaves and toasted sliced baguettes.
Once it was done, he poured coffee into two cups, black coffee for himself and mine with cream, and then we shared the baked eggs. It was delicious, flavorful, especially the balance of sweet, tangy, and the creaminess of cheese and egg.
“Boss!” Gio stopped midway with a basket of baked goods.
“What’s that?” I turned to Gio.
“Buongiorno, signora.” He placed down the basket. The butter aroma wafted in the air.
I grabbed one cannoli and took a bite of it. It was sweet and creamy. “Just Dani. Join us. He made really good baked eggs.”
“Grazie.” Gio joined us. Marco came later.
“I’m gonna gain twenty pounds in one month.” I took a bite again.
I didn’t realize Terzo was watching me eat until I met his gaze. “What?”
“We’ll exercise every night.” His eyes gleamed with heat and went darker with dirty thoughts.
My cheeks flamed. The image of us in hot sex every night flashed in my head quickly. It felt exciting and enthralling at the same time, making my body tighten as heat thrummed my skin.
Gio and Marco grabbed their coffee and snatched pastries from the basket and left the kitchen like their asses were on fire.
“Where are they going?”
“I want to have breakfast with you alone. The only way to kick them out is to make a sexual joke.”
“Oh, was it sexual?”
He didn’t reply. Instead, he showed me by grabbing the back of my head and kissing me hard. I moaned into his mouth. My hands gripped his waist, holding it tight. My parted lips gave him access to glide his tongue inside my mouth, tasting, exploring until he felt satisfied. He then released me.
“You’re delicious.”
Feeling lightheaded, I almost fell from the stool if he hadn’t held my arms. I blinked at him as I caught my breath. His gaze was so intense it made my ovaries dance. Terzo looked extremely hot, it should be a sin.
“You should go up and get naked.” His voice dropped to a low rumble.
I licked my lips. I tasted a mix of his taste and the cannoli, and it was divine. “No. I can’t let you get me knocked up. If you can’t keep your hands to yourself and your dick in your sweatpants, then you should take me to a doctor..” I ran my palm on his growing hard-on, causing him to groan. Damn, it was really huge. “Then I should get back on pills, or I get a DP shot.”
“Fuck,” he cursed under his breath as if he remembered something.
“What’s wrong?”
“You are what’s wrong, Dani. You’re fucking hot, and I woke up with my dick in your mouth and I came inside you. Remember the stunt you pulled up earlier? I’m not complaining, by the way. In fact, I can get used to waking up every morning with my wife going down on me.”
“Shut up.” I blinked in shock. I felt like he just threw a bucket of ice water on my face. And I felt like I wanted to throw up the breakfast I just ate. “Oh, shit.”
