                    DANI
“Where the fuck have you been, Dani?” Deck’s voice echoed throughout his penthouse. “You’re gone for four months, and now you just appear in my home?” He was sometimes a dick, an asshole, but I had nowhere else to go where Terzo Siciliano couldn’t easily get an access to.
I knew for a fact Terzo couldn’t just barge in here, knowing who Deck’s father was. The Siciliano may be dangerous and ruthless, but Terzo wouldn’t dare risk their lives for me. I meant nothing to them but their pawn for their mafia’s games.
“Can I crash here for a night or two?” I knew Deck couldn’t keep his junk in his pants. I was sure there were already different women in and out of his penthouse.
At this moment, I didn’t care. I need a safe place to stay. If Terzo was able to find me while I was in Ilya’s territory, I was sure he knew people who worked with the mobs. He had connections everywhere.
“If I don’t care for you, you wouldn’t get through the security.” He descended downstairs and stopped in front of me. “You haven’t answered my question, Dani.”
“Thanks, but it’s complicated, Deck.” I gripped my suitcase handle tightly. I wished he could stop asking, but he was Deckard Humphries, a spoiled brat son of a billionaire.
“What do you mean? Are you in some kind of trouble? You know I can help you. You didn’t have to run away. I know people, Dani. Who were you running from?” My father. Now, Terzo Siciliano.
I dragged my suitcase away from him and pointed at the spare bedroom down the hall. “I’ll take the guest room. I haven’t slept in more than twenty-four hours. We’ll talk after I get a nap. I need a job, Deck. Looking for a maid?”
I heard him snort. “What do I get in return, Dani? I know you won’t come back if you’re not desperate, and you know I’m not a saint, so do you. I’m sure you know I wouldn’t wait for your return. So?”
“I know you’re sleeping around, but I’m not running back to your arms to be your girlfriend, but since we have a history, just give me a job at Fantasy.” His nightclub was one of the popular clubs in town, but also famous for getting underage drunk and pushing drugs inside. With his father’s connections, he always got away with it, and his club still continued its operation.
“I need more than that.”
“I can’t be your whore. Sorry.”
He smirked as if he knew he would still get what he wanted.
I rolled my eyes as I pushed the door open. I locked the door and hit the quickest shower I’d ever taken in years.
I changed into my PJs and went to bed. I fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow.
I woke from a nightmare as if someone had just put a pillow over my face, pressed me against the mattress. I felt strong, large hands all over my body. I was completely naked. I could feel the cool air from the aircon against my skin, prickling my bones.
I shivered.
My eyes snapped open, and the nightmare didn’t vanish.
I realized I wasn’t dreaming anymore as I still felt that assault, the wrecking smell of the alcohol against his breath as he tried to kiss me. His hands were cupping and kneading my naked breasts. His dick was hard between my thighs about to enter me. My pajama bottom was pushed below my knees.
My heart leapt into my throat. My eyes cracked wide as it became clearer what he was doing to me.
“Deck, what the hell are you doing?” I tried to push him off me, but he was bigger, heavier, and taller, and he was quick to pin my hands above my head.
He shushed me. He was drunk. His eyes were red. “You’re gonna love it like before. I want you, Dani. So bad. I need you.”
“No! Not this way, Deck. What the hell is wrong with you?” With the best that I could, I knocked his head with mine. God, it hurt. It felt like my skull just cracked. I even felt lightheaded for a moment, but I needed to distract him so I could get off him.
“Fuck.” He got distracted and managed to free my hands, rubbing his forehead as he rubbed his forehead.
I kneed him on his dick.
“What the fuck, Dani?” He whined in pain and got off me. His eyes glared at me. It was scary how he was drunk one moment, and the next second, he was about to maul me.
Deck had never been a violent person, but sometimes he got too rough with me in bed, and apologized later. Right now, I didn’t know the person before me, like he had two personalities. I pulled up my pajama bottoms.
Shaking, I held my breath as he succumbed to his pain. “You’re about to rape me in my sleep, Deck. I thought we were friends.” I eyed my phone on the nightstand. He saw it, too.
Before I could sprint to grab my phone, he had already gotten up and jumped out of the bed. I grabbed the lamp, and he got me around my waist, wrapped his arms around me, causing the lamp to fall from my hands.
“Please!” My heart was beating so fast that I was hyperventilating. I shook harder, trying hard to get loose.
His arms around me tightened. “Do you really think you can get away easily?”
“Just let me go, Deck, please? You could have just said no if I’m not welcome anymore.” I tried hard to get out of his grip, but he was stronger than my petite body.
“Oh, you’re welcome anytime, but not for free. Either you’ll be my girlfriend or my whore, but you chose for us to be friends.”
“This is wrong, Deck. Just let me go!” I screamed at the top of my lungs even if I knew it was useless. No one was there to help me, but it somehow gave me strength.
If I were going to be molested and die, at least I died fighting. I should have just listened to Terzo, but they were both bad guys, monsters. I realized that now. I probably ended up dead in their hands anyway.
Though I regretted my decisions, my recklessness, my impulsiveness, I wished Terzo were here to help me. If he let me live after shooting him, he might still save me from another monster.
But right now, I was alone fighting against this monster, and there was no way I could get away from him. I struggled and struggled. My knees buckled. I was exhausted too fast.
I reached for his eyes. My nails were a little longer. I dug as hard as I could until he shrieked in pain and let me loose for the second time.
I still ran towards my phone and grabbed it. I hadn’t gotten to the door, he grabbed me by my foot. I fell to the floor, hitting my jaw hard. I instantly tasted the blood in my mouth. I screamed and rolled to my back and hit him in the head with my phone. And then I kicked him until I heard a crack.
I quickly got up and unlocked the door, and ran towards the main door. I was on the top of the building and used the stairs. I hadn’t gotten to three floor down, I was already catching my breath. I dialed the first number I thought could help me. I found it in the envelope with the Istanbul address.
It rang, and someone picked up.
