But time was the one thing we ever had enough of.
“Kes… I can’t. I… I’m sorry…” I whispered, shaking my head.
“Yes, you can.” His grip tightened in my hair. “You can. And you will.”
His other hand gripped my waist as he pushed deeper, keeping me in place.
“Fuck. Baby. Come on. Hold me. Kiss me, baby,” he pleaded, breath hitching, his thrusts growing more intense, deeper and harder.
He didn’t break eye contact, even as he approached his climax.
His cock grew even more rigid inside of me, his whole body tensing, and then, his release followed.
“Thank you, baby.” He breathed with his forehead resting on mine. “Thank you for letting me touch you again… I love you so much, Kasmine. So fucking much.”
As usual, I didn’t reply. I just pulled away from him and began to clean myself up while he did the same. Whatever spell he had cast on me had dissipated. I didn’t regret the sex. No. In fact, I was thankful for it. But… It was time to finally let go.
“Mine…” He called in a gruff voice, reaching out to me, but I pulled away.
“Kes… You’ve been here for over twenty minutes now. Everyone would be looking for you,” I said softly as I felt the dizziness return. “Just go before anyone finds you here. Please.”
He stood still for a little while before closing the distance between us, planting a soft kiss on my lips, “I love you, little sister. And I’ll make things right.” He said, turned around and walked away.
I nervously reached for my phone.
My fingers trembled as I unlocked it. My vision blurred before I even opened the message. There was a ringing in my ears, and my throat burned.
Just as I anticipated, it was an email from the hospital. I wasn’t expecting anything serious–just the results from the tests I’d asked them to run. To rule out food poisoning. A flu. Maybe even stress.
I was met with a cold list of diagnoses and terms I didn’t even fully understand. But I understood a few of them.
Blood pressure. Normal.
Hormonal levels. Within range.
Inflammation markers. Negative.
Iron. Low.
Then my eyes stopped.
Pregnancy test: Positive.
What
No.
No. No. No.
This must be a sick mistake.
I blinked as if my own tears were betraying me. I read it again as my world tilted on its axis.
Pregnancy test: Positive.
I nearly dropped the phone.
The room swayed. I pressed my hand against the wall, dragging shallow breaths that refused to fill my lungs. My knees buckled slightly, and I barely managed to catch myself before I hit the floor.
My heart drummed at an unhealthy speed. The bile rose in my throat. I was going to be sick.
This wasn’t real.
It couldn’t be real.
My hand flew to my stomach in pure instinct, fingers trembling against the flatness of my abdomen.
My other hand flew to my mouth as a choked sob escaped me. I tried to breathe. Tried to steady myself. But I couldn’t.
How
This must be a mistake.
Mateens taking my pills. Religiously. Every night, same time, same place. I didn’t miss a single one.
My phone buzzed again.
Another email. Same sender.
I hesitated before tapping it open.
My blood ran cold when I saw its contents.

The phone slipped from my fingers and hit the tiled floor with a crack before I finished reading.
Then the scream of a wounded animal caught in a trap. I covered my mouth, horrified at my own sound. Tears streamed freely down my head, burning hot trails into my skin.
He did this.
He did this to me.
Kester. That selfish, manipulative bastard!
He switched the pills.
Tears streamed down my cheeks, hot and bitter, dripping off my chin. My heart cracked open in ways I didn’t even know were possible. I couldn’t breathe. I couldn’t think. I couldn’t believe this.
He had taken my virginity.
He took my body.
He took my heart.
And now… He had stolen my choice, too.
