"Ok, Scar. We are only going in the pet store to get food for Jellie. Got it?" Tango says and crosses his arms.
"Yup! I got it!" Scar grins cheekily.
Tango sighs. "C'mon then." Tango walks into the pet store. Scar follows behind him like a lost puppy. The pet store is full of people and many different animals.
Tango heads straight to the cat food and starts, looking at it. "Hmm...maybe this type would be better than the kind you tried last time. What do you think, Scar?" Tango hums and waits for a response. When he gets no response, he turns his head. "Scar-?" When Tango doesn't see Scar, his eyes widen. "Scar!?" Tango looks around. No sign of Scar. "Scar, where are you?" Tango's voice comes out a little panicky. He looks around the store for a good 20 minutes before he hears a familiar voice. He peeks around the corner to see Scar cooing at a bunch of the cats.
"Scar." Tango sighs and crosses his arms. "Why did you leave me? You could have just asked, and we would've walked back together." Tango rolls his eyes, but a smile grows on his face when he sees Scar laugh softly with the cat he was playing with.
"Oh, Tango! Sorry I couldn't resist!" Scar grins.
Five more minutes go by, and Tango hears the store become a lot quieter.
"Uh..-" Tango looks at his phone and sees the store...closed 3 minutes ago! "Uh- Scar, the store closed- we might be stuck in here." Tango says.
"But the small kitties remind me of little Jellies!!! They are so cute!!" Scar coos, definitely not hearing the words Tango said.
Tango sighs. "Oh my gooooddd..." Tango shakes his head. "Scar, listen." Tango grabs Scar's arm, Scar looks at Tango.
"Yes?" Scar smiles.
"We got locked in the store." Scar's mouth opens slightly in surprise. "The door's locked, and the cashiers don't know we're inside!" Tango huffs.
"Ohhh...at least we are with the small Jellies!!" Scar grins at the kittens as Tango facepalms.
3 hours go by, and Tango and Scar are still sitting in the cat section.
Tango yawns and scoots closer to Scar, his head lays on Scar's shoulder.
Scar blushes. His heart skips a beat, and he starts to feel dizzy. He tries to ignore the butterflies swarming in his stomach and instead focuses on the adorable cats, but he can't. He ends up staring at Tango.
Scar's cheeks go red as he stares at Tango.
Tango has his eyes closed and is softly humming. "Mmhmm...." Scar's heart skips another beat.
Scar reaches over to brush some of Tango’s hair away from his face. He takes in his features. Those dark eyelashes flutter lightly at the contact. Scar gulps and leans closer to Tango, holding him close. Tango makes a sleepy noise and snuggles against Scar. Scar feels Tango's breath against his neck. Scar shivers and closes his eyes, enjoying the moment.
The two stay like that for a long time, and both of their phones have no service, so they couldn't contact anyone, not like they were complaining right now.
"Scar..?" Tango whispers after hours of silence.
"Yes?" Scar hums and rubs Tango's hip softly.
"I lo-.." Tango stops himself and clears his throat. "I am going to..murder you when we get out of here." Tango softly giggles.
"Hey-!" Scar laughs. "I got sucked in by the kitten cuteness!" Scar pouts, trying to look innocent.
Tango chuckles. "Yeah, sure you did."
Tango looks at Scar. "You look really cute with that hat on." Tango whispers and fixes Scar's cat beanie.
"Well, thank you," Scar blushes and ends up hugging Tango, burrying his face in Tango's shoulder. Tango blushes and wraps his arms around Scar.
"Mh..cold" Scar whispers and hugs Tango closer.
"Don't worry, Scar. I'll keep you warm." Tango says softly, stroking Scar's back. Scar nuzzles Tango's shirt gently. The two stayed like that for a while longer. Just enjoying each other's company in peace.
Finally the store owner came to open the shop 5 hours later. Scar reluctantly let go of Tango and left the store together, apologizing to the store owner and paying a little more than the cat food costs.
"Oh, I have never felt happier to be outside!" Tango smiles and stretches.
Scar blushes as he watches Tango. "Y-Yeah." Scar agrees with a nervous smile.
"Let's go get some food. I am hungry!" Tango grins.
Scar smiles. "Alright."
The two to a diner and sit down together.
"I can't believe you got us stuck in there." Tango laughs as he stuffs his mouth with pancakes.
"Hey! It's not my fault the kitties are so cute!" Scar defends, also stuffing his mouth full of pancakes.
The two start laughing.
When they finish eating, the two go to Tango's house.
Scar and Tango settle on the couch.
Tango puts on a movie and grabs a large blanket.
Tango pulls the blanket over him and Scar. Scar smiles at Tango.
As the movie goes on, the two end up inching closer, and soon they are cuddling. Tango ends up on Scar's lap, hugging him while watching the movie.
Tango is so engrossed in watching the movie that he doesn't notice Scar leaning down slowly.
Tango then feels Scar's warm breath on his cheek, Tango looks at Scar.
They make eye contact, and Scar suddenly leans down and kisses Tango on his lips.
Tango gasps quietly and freezes for a moment before returning the kiss. Scar runs his fingers through Tango's soft hair and deepens the kiss, deepening it further. Suddenly, Tango finds his hand cupping Scar's jaw, pulling Scar's head even closer to his. They both pull away slightly, lips still touching as they breathe. Tango's eyes widen, and he opens his eyes to meet Scar's wide green ones. Tango burries his face into Scar's neck.
They sit there until they fall asleep, not saying a word.
*A few weeks later*
Scar walks into the pet store and sees Tango.
"Tango?" Scar grins.
Tango turns around, surprised. "Scar! Hey." Tango blushes.
"When-" Scar laughs. "When did you start working here?"
"Uh..A week ago." Tango grins nervously.
Scar smiles and pulls Tango towards him. Tango blushes deeply and rests his head on Scar's chest, listening to his heartbeat. Tango loves how calm and relaxed his heartbeat sounds.
Scar wraps his arms around Tango and gives him a gentle squeeze. Tango hugs back quickly, then steps back. "I should get back to working." Tango grins sheepishly and walks off.
When the store is about to close, Tango finds Scar looking at the cats, a bag of cat food in his hand.
"Which cat ya lookin' at?" Tango grins, Scar jumps, not expecting Tango to be there.
Tango starts laughing. "Sorry, did I scare ya, Scar?" He asks once he stops laughing.
Scar gives him a small glare. "Shut up." He mutters, embarrassed. "I'm looking at this cat." Scar smiles and points to a calico cat. "It's so cute." Scar coos. "Only if I had enough money. I'm saving the money for my pancake selling business." Scar grins.
Tango smiles softly. "Mhm. She is cute. Also- you should probably go. The store is closing in 5 minutes." Tango smiles. "Don't wanna get stuck like last time, do you?" Tango teases.
"Right!" Scar smiles and goes to the counter to pay.
Tango blushes and smiles.
The next day, Scar hears a knock at his door.
He opens the door and sees Tango.
"Tango!!" Scar grins happily.
"Hey Scar." Tango smiles gently, holding something behind him.
Scar notices this. "Watcha got?" Scar raises an eyebrow and tries to look behind Tango. Tango grins and backs up.
"I got a present for you!" Tango grins and holds out the calico cat from the pet store. The cat has a bow on its collar.
Scar's eyes widen. "Tango..you got me the cat..I wanted?" Scar whispers, thoroughly touched. Tango grins and puts the cat in its cage. He then turns back to Scar. "I could tell you wanted her more than anything." Tango smiles.
"No..." Scar whispers and grabs Tango's cheeks with his hands. "You are what I want more than anything." Scar pulls Tango in and kisses him.
Tango blushes a bright crimson and closes his eyes, enjoying every second. Tango wraps his arms around Scar's neck, having to stand on his tiptoes. One of Scar's hands slides up Tango's back, pulling him closer.
The kiss deepens, and Tango can feel Scar smiling against his lips. The kiss breaks, and both are grinning.
Tango grabs Scar's shoulders and pulls him downwards, kissing him again. Tango lets out a soft sigh as he tilts his head ever so slightly to deepen the kiss more. The two pull apart after a few moments, both panting slightly.
They stare into each other's eyes for a moment. Both are smiling widely.
"I love you Scar, you are everything I want and more." Tango whispers.
"I love you too Tango..you are all I need to be happy." Scar whispers back. Tango giggles and bumps his nose against Scar's.
The two stay like that, simply looking at each other, neither saying a word, just enjoying their presence being in each others company.
Suddenly, a meow interrupts the silence.
Tango giggles and picks up the cage. "Can we come in?"
"Of course. You are always welcome to come in." Scar whispers, looking at Tango fondly.
Scar leads them to the kitchen table and sits next to Tango, and Scar sets the cat cage between them. The kitten immediately crawls into Tango's lap. Tango coos and begins to pet the kitten.
"What should we name her?" Scar smiles.
"We?" Tango tilts his head. "She's your cat Scar." Tango grins.
"Well, I want you to name her." Scar smiles back.
"Ok- uh. How about Pumpkin?" Tango smiles happily. The kitten purrs in response. Tango gently brushes Pumpkin's fur.
"Pumpkin, huh? That would be adorable." Scar smiles softly. Pumpkin purrs and rubs her nose against Tango's nose playfully.
"Cute..she is pretty cute, but not as cute as you." Tango smirks.
"Oh yeah?" Scar grins and scoots close to Tango, wrapping his arm around his waist.
"Oh yes." Tango replies with a wink. Tango then pecks Scar's cheek, causing both of them to blush heavily.
Scar leans back against the chair and lays a kiss on Tango's forehead.
Tango blushes and looks away.
The two stay silent for about 10 more minutes until Scar breaks the silence.
"Tango?" Scar whispers.
"Yes?" Tango answers and looks at Scar.
"Are we..uh boyfriends?" Scar whispers and looks at Tango with hopeful eyes.
"Hell yeah, we are." Tango grins widely.
Scar beams and throws himself forward and hugs Tango tightly.
Tango laughs and smiles softly, wrapping his arms around Scar.
"I love you, Tango." Scar mumbles in Tango's neck.
Tango hums softly in response, nuzzling his face against Scar's neck.
"I love you too." Tango whispers.
Scar smiles.
"We should introduce Jellie and Pumpkin!" Scar grins and stands up. He goes off to grab Jellie. He carries Jellie to the table and sets her down.
"Jellie! What a good girl! Aren't you a pretty little kitty?" Tango coos at Jellie. Jellie purrs in response.
Tango places Pumpkin in front of Jellie.
Jellie tilts her head and nuzzles Pumpkin.
Tango and Scar both smile.
A few years have gone by, Scar opened a pancake business and has an apartment over it, Tango started living with him and is currently creating a game online.
"Tango!!" Scar calls for Tango. "Breakfast is ready!"
Tango runs downstairs. "Pancakes!!!" Tango grins and practically jumps into Scar's arms.
Scar chuckles as he swings Tango around and kisses him tenderly.
"You're such a goofball." Scar giggles and places Tango back down on the floor.
"And you know it~" Tango grins brightly.
Scar smiles softly and shakes his head. "Come on, let's eat, I made bacon too." Scar says excitedly and leads Tango to the dining room.
They sit next to each other and start eating.
Scar watches Tango practically melt each time he has a piece of pancake. His heart flutters happily when he thinks about it.
Tango grins mischievously before taking a piece of bacon off Scar's plate and shoving it in his mouth.
"Hey- that was my bacon!" Scar says with a fake, hurt tone.
"But yours tastes better!" Tango grins.
Scar sighs as he giggles.
Tango smiles and hugs Scar.
"Thank you, Scar." Tango whispers, looking at Scar with adoring eyes.
Scar blushes and nods. "For what?" He questions.
"For everything.." Tango smiles.
Scar blushes and kisses Tango's head.
"Anything for you. As long as you give me unlimited runs for Decked Out 2." Scar grins.
Tango laughs and pushes Scar playfully.
"Scar!!" Tango grins and laughs.
"I'm joking! I'm joking!" Scar laughs with Tango.
The two laugh for a while.
When they stop, Tango remembers something.
"Oh! Scar! I want to show you some things that I found and are really important to me." Tango says and gets up. He hurries into the storage closet and then hurries back out, setting a jewelry box on the counter.
"Ooh. What's that?" Scar smiles.
"This is my Great Grandmothers jewlery box." Tango smiles and opens the jewelry box.
It's filled with vintage jewelry and gemstones.
"Woah.." Scar says and looks at the jewlery.
"Mhm. This contains all jewlery from the generations before me. Like my mothers promise ring and wedding ring, my grandmothers necklace collection, no rings because she was a strong, independent woman and didn't need a man." Tango laughs, and Scar joins in.
"Then my grandmother's many pieces of jewlery and like 20 wedding rings-" Tango squints. "I wonder which one was from my grandfather.
Scar smiles. "Ooh." Scar grabs a red gemstone and holds it up. "Whats this?"
Tango smiles. "That's the Red Beryl gemstone my grandmother gave my mother." Tango smiles. "It is very rare, but I have no idea what to do with it." Tango sighs.
"Could I...uh- mh nevermind." Scar whispers.
"Hm? What's up?" Tango tilts his head.
"I uh. Have an idea of something I can do with it. But I need your permission." Scar looks at Tango.
Tango smiles. "You can do whatever with it, becides selling it, getting rid of it or destroying it."
"Really?" Scar smiles.
Tango hugs Scar. "Really."
Scar hugs Tango and kisses his chin. "Thanks, babe."
Tango giggles softly and nuzzles his face against Scar's shoulder.
A very unsuspecting Pix sits at his desk. A very unsuspecting Pix is looking through his history journals with his "roommate" Zloy sitting next to him. A very unsuspecting duo gets startled by a door slamming open.
"Pix!!" Scar shouts as he barges into Pix's office.
Pix practically jumps into Zloy's arms. "Scar!!" Pix yells and squints at Scar as he clings to Zloy.
Zloy chuckles.
Scar laughs nervously. "Sorry-"
Pix sighs and sits up normally. "It's fine. Do you need something?"
"I'd like to hire your jewlery making service." Scar states and drops $8000 on the table.
Pix and Zloy's eyes widen.
"That's a lot of money Scar-" Pix says, astonished.
"Well, I am going to put as much money as I can into this." Scar says.
"What type of jewlery do you need?" Pix tilts his head.
"I- uh." Scar blushes.
Zloy smirks. "He wants an engagement ring for Tango!"
"W-WhAT-" Scar sputters out, blushing even more.
Pix and Zloy start laughing.
"O-Ok- Maybe I do." Scar looks away. "I brought my own gemstone." Scar places the Red Beryl gemstone in front of Pix.
"Woah. That's gorgeous." Pix picks up the stone and admires it.
"Yeah. It's really important to Tango, and I wanted to make the engagement ring special.." Scar smiles sheepishly.
Pix sighs and smiles. He splits the money, so he has $2000 in his right hand and $6000 in his left. "Take the rest of this money." Pix scolds and gives $6000 back to Scar. "So." Pix pulls out a ring style book. "What's the plan?" Pix grins.
*2 weeks later*
Tango is currently sitting at his computer, faceplanting into the keyboard.
"Tango?" Scar peaks his head into Tango's office. When he sees Tango, he sighs.
"Tango." Scar walks over and picks Tango up.
Tango squeaks, not expecting Scar to pick him up.
Scar sighs and carries Tango to the couch and puts him down. He starts rubbing circles on Tango's lower back, and Tango relaxes under his touch.
"You have to stop overworking yourself." Scar whispers and gives Tango's shoulders a massage.
"I know. But there is an issue with the card sorter and the coins and crowns converter. I'm so stressed right now." Tango leans into Scar.
Scar kisses Tango's head. "Why don't I take you out on a date later? Just us, maybe on the beach?" Scar smiles.
Tango looks back at Scar and blushes. "I'd love that."
"Great. Now take a nap, I'll wake you up at 6." Scar smiles as Tango nods.
"Tango~" Scar coos and runs his fingers through Tango's hair.
Tango groans unhappily and opens his eyes to meet Scar's emerald green eyes.
Tango blushes, and Scar smiles. "Why don't you go get dressed in something comfortable. It doesn't have to be fancy, we are going to the beach. Make sure to wear your swim bottoms, though." Scar smiles more and walks off.
Tango sits up and goes to get ready.
Once they get to the beach, Tango can't help but stare at Scar, who, of course, does not have his shirt buttoned.
Scar and Tango are walking down the beach, holding hands.
Scar smiles and lets go of Tango's hand, running into the ocean.
Tango giggles and follows.
The two stand in the ocean, splashing each other playfully.
But, soon enough, they are in each others arms, kissing each other as the waves splash up against their legs.
Scar pulls away and pecks Tango's cheek.
"I love you." Scar whispers.
Tango smiles. "I love you too-" Tango's eyes widen as Scar gets on one knee.
"Tango Tek, my beloved boyfriend. The love of my life and winner of all of my attention. The most beautiful person in the world..." Scar blushes even more. "Will you marry me?" Scar smiles nervously, holding the personally made ring up to Tango.
Tango blushes and nods. "O-Of course!" Tango pulls Scar off his knee and kisses him.
Scar blushes and kisses back.
After a while, the two are lying in the sand. Tango has his hand in the air, admiring his engagement ring.
Scar blushes and leans on Tango's chest.
Tango strokes Scar's soft brown hair gently as they lie back in silence, listening to the gentle waves lapping at the shoreline.
Tango hums happily.
"I love you, Scar." Tango whispers.
Scar looks up and looks into Tango's loving and caring red eyes.
Scar leans up and kisses him.
Tango kisses back gently.
They pull apart, smiling at each other, their foreheads touching. They continue to smile.
Tango laughs slightly.
"I have another surprise for you." Scar gets up and pulls Tango up with him. They brush the sand off their clothing.
"Follow me." Scar smiles and walks down the beach.
Tango smiles and runs after Scar.
Scar turns around and looks at Tango, who is running towards him.
Scar stops and grabs Tango's hand, pulling him along.
Scar has his hands covering Tango's eyes. "Almost..mh" Scar hums and leads Tango forwards. "3...2...1" Scar grins and uncovers Tango's eyes.
"Surprise!!!" People yell, it's all the Hermits and Empires Crew...plus Skizz, Martyn, and Zloy.
"Oh my god- what are you all doing here?!" Tango grins, unable to keep his excitement down.
"We came here to celebrate your engagement!" Impulse grins.
"We all knew you were gonna say yes." Grian grins.
Tango blushes and nudges Scar. "You told...everyone?!"
"Yup" Scar says smugly.
"I was the first person to know." Pix grins.
Zloy scoffs. "I was there too!"
The two end up bickering, and everyone around starts laughing.
"Let's get to partying!!!" Cleo yells and holds a bottle of alcohol in her hand.
Everyone cheers and starts to set stuff up.
Tango is sitting on a beach towel next to Zedaph and Impulse.
"I'm so proud of you, Tango!" Impulse smiles.
"Me too!" Zedaph smiles. "Just make sure to invite us to the wedding!"
"Of course! I wouldn't have a wedding without you two in it." Tango smiles.
Impulse grins. "Of c-"
He gets cut off by Grian's screeching.
"SCAR PUT YOUR SHIRT ON!!!" Grian screams while others laugh around them.
"Why?! We are at the beach!" Scar counters while laughing.
"He has a point, Grian!" Martyn grins.
Grian sighs.
"I don't think Tango minds Scar's shirt being off." Scott grins and winks at Tango with a smug grin.
Tango's face goes red as he looks away from "definitely," not looking at Scar.
Zedaph and Impulse laugh.
"You're down bad, Tango." Etho laughs from behind Tango, Zedaph, and Impulse.
"Shut it!" Tango squeaks, embarrassed.
The party went on for 4 more hours, but now Scar and Tango are at home.
They are cuddled up on the couch, Jellie and Pumpkin, on their laps.
"Did you enjoy the party?" Scar asks.
"Of course." Tango hums and looks at his ring. He blushes.
"I.." Tango whispers as he tears up.
"Tango.?" Scar looks at Tango, worried.
"I..you- you are the most thoughtful partner ever!" Tango sobs and hugs Scar tightly.
Scar smiles shyly. "Oh Tango-" Scar coos and pulls Tango close.
"Scar...I-" Tango gets cut off my two loud meows.
Scar chuckles and pets Jellie and Pumpkin. "Girls, we're having a moment here." Scar scolds playfully.
Pumpkin starts pawing at Tango's chest.
Tango starts giggling.
"I'm sorry, pumpkin, but I'm just happy that he loves me and wants to marry me." Tango scratches behind Pumpkin's ears.
Pumpkin purrs.
"Hey!" Scar pouts and pulls Tango's hand to rest on his head.
Tango grins and starts running his fingers through Scar's hair.
Scar smiles and leans into Tango's hand, enjoying how soothing it feels.
"Scar." Tango calls quietly.
Scar hums.
"I'm really happy right now." Tango mumbles, not looking Scar in the eye.
Scar chuckles. "So am I."
Tango smiles and leans closer and kisses Scar softly.
Scar kisses back, wrapping his arms around Tango.
They pull away.
"And to think this all happened because you got us stuck in a pet store." Tango grins.
"Oh shush." Scar kisses Tango again.
