Lakshay's POV
Sitting in the cafe with my little girl just beside me, with the same get up as me, made us adorable pair. People passing by looked at us with adorable gaze, not knowing we are on a secret mission, and they are not helping at all!
I kept my eyes above the menu and kept looking at the table, Drishti was sitting at. She looked nervous (?) Oh god, why can't I keep my fowl mouth close? Just let us cross this hurdle. I'll beg her on my knees, lick her feet whatsoever, I'll just do possible anything to get her back to me. What I can't do is, to share her with anyone, or hand her over to someone else! I share her love with Shrenu, but she is our child, so I am very much okay with it. And I will be okay to share our love with all the other children of ours.
But not anyone else!
The bastard of a man arrived, who my own mother introduced to my to-be-wife. How can a mom do that? Possibly she can, because I had hurt my love beyond imagination!
Why were men like this?
Never realizing the damage they did until they finally lost the treasure they have! I love her! I love her more than life itself, more than myself, more than anyone. But I always had that fear, she she'll reject me. She was so bold, so beautiful, and so pretty! She can get the most handsome man in this world, then why the hell she will choose me!
But I realised how much of a fool I was when she told me she wanted to marry me!
Fool! Fool! Fool!
How can someone be this stupid?
It's been an hour now, since they are talking and my mood went more south than it already was! She was looking so mesmerizing in that black dress of her. She looked beautiful in every dress. In the black she was looking ethereal, but there was something about red, that always makes her look so beautiful, that she looks otherworldly in that! Suddenly, She looked at our table. Shit!
She excused herself from the table, I got up picking Shrenu up and adjust my cap, hoping she won't see us. I strode toward the door, but she caught me. Shrenu squealed a momma and jumped in my hold, but did not reach for her. She was daddy's princess.
Busted!
I smiled at her. Nervous as hell. But she folded her hands and glared at me!
"Hey, I did not knew you were here! How come you are here!" I asked. She sighed.
"You think I don't know you, why are you here Lakshay!" She asked.
"I did not knew you were here, we were just having our father-daughter time!" I said. She did not believed. " Honest" I added.
"Am I interuppting something?" An irritating voice asked. I turned around to see the man she was on date with!
Yes you are! You blind prick!
"Not at all!" Drishti said with a sweet fall-for-me smile. Fuck me!
"Who is this?" The man's eyes lit with curiosity. None of your business!
"This is my daughter" She pointed at Shrenu. Ours, I wanted to snap at her. She had never did this. "And this is her father!" She completed. And I was furious by now. But I had no right to be! I brought it up by myself. You reap what you sow!
"Yes she is our daughter, Drishti my love, And I did not knew you had a date!" I side eyed the man. "We were waiting for the ice cream time actually!" I said. Drishti rolled her eyes. The date smiled. I want to knock his uneven teeth out.
"My name is Kabir!" He said. I ignored. Drishti glared at me. I smiled at him.
"You can go now Drishti. See you next week." I kept my hands to myself, even though I wanted to break his face. Why am I so bitter, even when I got no right to! I mean I do but I don't after whatever I said.
"Why will you meet him again?" I scowled at her. She raised an eyebrow at me. I sighed and we walked to the nearby shop to buy ice cream. After that we went to park as our stubborn girl wanted to play. She wagged around the garden and we sat on the bench. FOr few minutes, we accompanied each other in silence. But I could not take it anymore.
"How do I get you back?" I asked, my eyes still trained on Shrenu.
"You never had me!" She said, she was also looking at Shrenu.
"I did." I said confidently. "I did have you, but I lost you because of my own stupidity. I love you Drishti, I have loved you for even I don't know how long, I loved you for I don't know how much. But as I told you, you are too out of my reach. I had always thought why you will choose someone like me. Me! Who is nothing but a middle-class man and can't even have the confidence to confess my feeling. Even tried to hide my feelings in spiteful words." I closed my eyes. I looked down. I knew I will cry if I looked at her.
"See, I even cry so much when I am with you! When will you love me back the way you did?" I said. I was not crying for nothing. I was crying for what I could've had but lost because of my stupidity.
"Crying is not a cowardice." Her voice softened. She sighed. "I still love you" She said, I looked at her in shock. She looked at me. "I can't stop loving you over night or.. over a month." She said.
I stood up and kneeled in front of her. I circled my arms around her waist.
"What do I have to do? Do... Do even stand a chance!" I asked. She removed my hands from her waist. I looked down. She got up and walked away.
It's over! It's all over because of my fuck up! We were now, just parents of same girl.
I cried! For myself, for what we could've. Thank goodness no one other than us was there.
"Show me!" I heard her voice. My face turned to her so fast, that I thank god, My neck did not snap.
"Show me, you love me. Assure me you will never do something like that again." She said, I nodded eagerly. A heavy burden lifting from my heart. "Show me we have a future together." She kneeled down in front of me and kissed my forehead.
I hugged her tight. My tears dried, but my voice was hoarse.
"I..I wa..was so s.. scared." I hugged her tight and she hugged me back kissing the side of my head.
I felt the relief seeping my veins.
We had a chance...
I had a chance.....
Shrenu
THREE MONTHS LATER
I looked in the mirror and adjusted my collars. My smile never left. It had not left since three months ago, when I came to know that I did have a chance with Drishti. I had tried my best to show her that I love her. I had done everything. I made a list as of to what I have to do today. We were all going to Shlok and Shreeyanvi's reception. Their wedding took place a few days ago, in a destination wedding. Goa.
1. Propose to Drishti again (even after getting rejected for seventy eight times straight)
2. Take tips from Shlok as to how to make her forgive me.
3. Kiss Drishti (take her by surprise)
4. Continuously look at her when we are going to venue by my car. (I love doing it!!)
5. Ask Shrenu to manipulate her mother into marrying me. (morally wrong, but what can a love starved man do?)
6. Tell Drishti to have a picnic of family. We all together.
7. Beg Shreyanvi to talk to Drishti to forgive me.
8. Propose Drishti
9. Ask her to kiss me.
I had my list all written in my mind. I smiled, picked my tie and walked to the room mom, Drishti and Shrenu were getting ready. I smiled at them. Mom finally had her saree fixed and Shrenu was looking like an angel in her frock. Her blue eyes matching the colour of her frock!
I kissed her loudly on cheek and told her that she looked so beautiful. I need to keep an eye on her today. Boys of her age will also come. I thought seriously.
Maa took Shrenu and went outside. I kept waiting since Drishti was inside the bathroom. The bathroom door opened, and my breathing hitched. She looked other worldly, ethereal, beautiful, irresistible, alluring, drop-dead gorgeous.
My eyes did not move from her as I kept looking at her like a gaping fish. She fisted her beautiful lips with her hand, as if laughing at me.
I gulped.
I want to kiss that lip.
She raised her brows at me.
I licked my lips. She went to the mirror and pulled her hair into a messy bun. She will leave her hair open I know, she is just doing it for makeup. Actually, her dressing table is right in front of the window which is right in front of my room's window. And for last nine years --you heard it correct-- I have watched her get ready, daily. Even if it costed me a few minutes late to office.
Her saree
I kept looking at her neck as she looked at me through the mirror. Our eyes met. She smiled at me while adjusting her earring. I smiled back. My heart beating out of my rib cage.
"What are you standing there for?" I know I should go, but it's my daily routine, what to do! "Come here help me!" I looked up at her in surprise. In a minute I was standing behind her.
"Wha --I cleared my throat-- what should I do?" I asked.
"First tie my lace on the back" She said. Her supple skin was so inviting. I looked at her back. and traced her skin with my hand. So soft. I should stop but I can't. I slowly tied her dori, and my hands went on her neck. I traced her soft skin with my hard fingers. She closed her eyes. Probably relishing the feeling.
Before I can realize I kissed her neck. She breathed in shakily. Becoming more confident, I kissed the side of her neck and she kept her head on my shoulder. I trailed kisses on her neck and she clutched her saree.
I turned her around and gave a loud kiss on her cheek. She smiled at me, looking at me with those beautiful eyes, I smiled back, before leaning in slowly. Slowly, so she could get the time to back away. But when she did not, my lips finally touched hers and I sighed. After so many days.
In these three months, we have kissed only thrice. All of them were me getting horny and jumping on her, with consent of course. I kissed her long --tongue involved-- and pecked her lips thrice before finally letting her beautiful lips go. Only if she had married me, I would've pasted my lips on hers for as long as I could.
I lifted her by waist and swirled her around before we kissed again.
"Should we go or is there something left?" I heard maa's voice just as we finished our kissing. Both of our eyes widened.
