It hit Finn like a ton of bricks—the man standing before him wasn't some actor I'd hired. This was Archie Westbrook, the eldest grandson of the powerful Westbrook dynasty, a family whose name was synonymous with real estate empires.
Archie's parents had long since traded boardrooms for operating rooms, becoming renowned kidney transplant surgeons. With few heirs in the Westbrook line, Archie wasn't just their only son—he was the sole heir destined to inherit it all.
In wealth, in influence, Finn didn't even come close.
"Faith, don't go," Finn begged, desperation clawing at his voice.
Archie didn't bother turning around. His words were ice.
"Finn, the only reason I didn't destroy you years ago was for my wife's sake. I didn't want her burdened by that pathetic profit-sharing deal of yours." A pause, then the final blow. "But if you don't get back to Dallas soon, you'll lose everything."
Finn acted like he hadn't heard, his long strides closing the distance between us.
"Faith, please—just talk to me. Don't marry him. I lied." His voice cracked. "I'm not marrying Darcie. I made it all up. That wedding dress? It was meant for you. Darcie put it on herself. The only reason I didn't stop her was because I thought she was dying." He swallowed hard. "I love you. Truly—"
Archie's fist cut him off mid-sentence.
I'd never seen Archie this furious.
"That," he snarled, "is for forcing Faith to donate blood right after her miscarriage."
Another punch landed before Finn could react.
"And this one's for letting the world call her a homewrecker—for letting millions of strangers drag her and her family through the mud."
Blood trickled down Finn's face, but Archie wasn't finished.
"This," he said, delivering the final blow, "is for throwing away seven years of her love like it was worth nothing more than a measly ten million dollars." He leaned in, voice low. "Finn, your so-called love is worthless."
With that, Archie took my hand and led me away.
I didn't look back. Not once.
The next day, the headlines exploded.
[Finn Cuckolded: Darcie's Baby Isn't His. The Real Seven-Year Secret Girlfriend Was Faith.]
Finn never admitted a word.
The court of public opinion, however, had already ruled.
"Serves him right! People who betray true love deserve to swallow ten thousand needles!"
"Where are all the 'Queen Darcie' stans now? Cat got your tongues?"
"What a tragedy Faith left acting. Her queen role was iconic. She could've swept the awards, but Darcie stole it from her. Now we might never see her on screen again."
The backlash was brutal. Even Darcie's tearful press conference became a punchline.
She sprinted to Finn's villa, desperate for his help—only to be met with a vicious slap the second she stepped inside.
"This is all your fault!" Finn roared. "If it weren't for you, my company wouldn't be collapsing!" His laugh was hollow. "You want me to take responsibility? Fine. Let's get that marriage license. Since Faith is already married, it doesn't matter who I'm stuck with." His voice dropped to a whisper. "Darcie, I'll make sure every second of your life is hell until the day you die."
Her face drained of color. She tried to run—but Finn shattered both her legs and dragged her back inside.
Dark streaks of blood stained the ground behind her.
She'd lost the baby.
Meanwhile, Archie and I were in a jewelry store, picking out wedding rings.
Just as we were leaving, Archie went to get the car. I waited near the mall entrance, lost in thought—until a voice I knew all too well sent chills down my spine.
"Faith."
I didn't turn. I bolted for the parking lot.
Finn cut me off, his face bruised but his grip tight on the wedding dress.
And standing beside him?
My former agent.
