The air between us crackled with tension as Vincent lounged in just his underwear, that predatory gleam in his eyes making my skin prickle. "Luna, sweetheart, no need to force yourself," he purred, his gaze roaming my body like I was his last meal.
I couldn't help but notice the obvious bulge in his briefs, my face burning hotter than a July afternoon. This wasn't like changing his bandages before, this time I'd be touching every inch of him. That hungry look in his eyes sent my pulse racing in a way that scared me.
"Maybe...you should handle this part yourself," I mumbled, staring at the floor tiles like they held the secrets of the universe. The wound was on his thigh, for God's sake, he could wash his own damn legs.
But Vincent just shook his head, that infuriating smirk playing on his lips. "Now where's the fun in that? Besides," he added, voice dropping to a dangerous whisper, "refusal means pay deductions, Nurse Luna."
The tight white nurse uniform felt like a second skin as I perched nervously on the bed's edge. My hips shifted unconsciously as I reached for his waistband with trembling fingers. The sheer indecency of it all sent an unwanted thrill shooting down my spine.
"You'd look even prettier bending lower," Vincent murmured, his eyes locked on the cleavage my uniform barely contained. Before I could react, his calloused hand slid past my stockings and, oh God, pressed right against my panties.
I jerked away like I'd been burned, my entire face flaming. But Vincent just lounged there, completely at ease, watching me squirm like it was his favorite show.
My hands shook as I cleaned him, each stroke of the towel only making his situation more...pronounced. The charged air between us made my head spin, my own body betraying me in ways that filled me with shame.
By the time I finished, my uniform clung to me like a second skin, damp with sweat. I practically ran to the third-floor bathroom, desperate to scrub away the memory of my own traitorous reactions.
Under the scalding shower, my fingers found their way between my thighs as six weeks of pent-up longing came rushing out. Ethan had been gone so long...just as my breathing hitched and my back arched -
The door flew open.
Vincent stood there, bandages gone, fully...available. "Missed you already," he growled, stepping forward with dark promise in his eyes.
I scrambled to cover myself, making a break for the door, only to freeze when Margaret appeared. "Help me!" I begged, voice cracking.
Her cold laugh chilled me to the bone as she slammed and locked the door. "Let my husband have his fun."
The world tilted as Vincent's burning hands closed around me. This couldn't be happening. But as his body pressed against mine, I knew, I was well and truly trapped.
