"But Ethan! Vincent gave an ultimatum—he won't accept the baby unless we divorce first. He refuses to let his child be born a bastard!"
"Fine! Luna, let's sign the papers right now. I know your heart still belongs to me!"
"Of course, Ethan. I love you more than anything!" Once, that might have been true. But my love had only made him bolder. Now? I'd make sure he lost it all.
The divorce was swift—until we reached the asset division. Ethan expected me to walk away with nothing.
As if. I smirked and tapped my phone. The room erupted with the sounds of him groaning over Margaret's sagging body. My stomach twisted.
"Fucking your own aunt? And you still have the audacity to demand I leave penniless?" My voice cut through the courtroom, sharp enough to draw gasps.
"Luna, please! It was her fault—she came onto me! Don't do this!" The moment the video played, his knees hit the floor. He kowtowed like a beggar, forehead splitting open.
I didn't spare him a glance. The law handed me everything—our house, his car. Meaningless trinkets now.
But I wanted him destitute. When he realized I wouldn't budge, he lunged, fingers digging into my throat. Right on cue.
Two bodyguards wrenched him off as I snapped photos of his assault.
"Break his legs," I said, tossing a wad of cash at his face. "A thousand dollars for painkillers. Consider it my last act of marital kindness."
Watching him writhe, revenge burned sweet in my veins. Now, for the final piece—the man who'd stolen my body.
The pregnancy? A lie. I'd been on birth control the entire time with Vincent. But that fiction drained him dry—money, shares, power. When nothing remained, I handed the police a dossier of his crimes.
They arrested him mid-fantasy, still murmuring wedding vows.
Faced with the evidence, he cracked—confessing to my rape and dragging Margaret down with him.
At sentencing, I sat in the front row. Their shackles clinked as the judge spoke. Finally, I let myself smile.
Afterward, I liquidated everything Vincent had given me. The money bought a one-way ticket—to a city where no one knew my name.
