I knew the joke had crossed a line.
My face burned as I ducked my head and bolted, throwing one last glare over my shoulder before embarrassment took over and I practically sprinted away.
I didn't stop until I reached the dressing room, where I grabbed my change of clothes and stepped into the shower.
The second I turned off the water and reached for my towel, strong arms yanked me into a crushing embrace.
Quentin.
My fiancé didn't waste time—he tore the towel from my body, his gaze raking over me like fire. "Evelyn, I can't wait—"
"Not here—"
His mouth crashed against mine before I could finish, and just like that, the heat Felix had stirred in me flared back to life. Quentin's touch turned my bones to liquid.
"Carry me," I gasped between kisses. "Take me back in the shower."
He lifted me effortlessly. Since privacy was non-negotiable for me—and since this was a couples' retreat—I'd booked us a high-security lovers' suite. My best friend Luna and I had separate rooms, but right now, the only thing separating me from total abandon was the steam-fogged glass door.
Then I saw them.
Two figures. Watching.
My pulse stuttered. When my vision cleared, I made out two grinning faces peering through the cracked bathroom door—one stacked above the other.
Luna and Felix.
How the hell had they gotten in without the passcode?
The second our eyes locked, they shoved the door wide and strolled in like they owned the place.
I yelped and plastered myself against Quentin, scrambling to cover my naked body. But instead of shielding me, he stepped aside—leaving me fully exposed to both of them.
Luna was whatever, but her boyfriend was standing right there!
I crossed my arms over my chest and ducked behind Quentin, my face on fire.
"Why bother hiding?" Felix smirked. "I've already seen the best parts."
"Come on, Evie," Quentin chuckled, shameless. "Let the man enjoy the view."
I punched his arm. "Keep this up, and I'll cuckold you before the wedding."
Luna giggled. "Oh please, it's not that deep. If Felix sees you, Quentin can see me later. Men are just toys we can swap, right?"
Her words should've scandalized me, but I played along. "Not all of us are as shameless as you!"
I snatched a white dress from the rack and yanked it on, but my damp skin made the fabric cling to every curve. I grabbed the discarded towel and wrapped it around myself like armor before finally stepping out from behind Quentin.
Felix's gaze never wavered.
"Keep staring," I warned, "and I'll eat you alive."
He burst out laughing. "Which head first? I've got two, you know."
Damn men and their stupid comebacks.
I shot Quentin a look. "You're really gonna let your fiancée get harassed like this?"
His reply came without missing a beat: "If he harasses you, I'll just harass his girlfriend."
That's when I noticed it—the charged look passing between Quentin and Luna. No, between all three of them. There was something there, some unspoken game I wasn't part of.
But I pushed the thought aside.
After more teasing (and way too much inappropriate laughter), we piled into cars and headed to a nearby karaoke bar.
