The strange warmth enveloping me sent shivers down my spine. A soft whimper slipped past my lips before I could catch it.
Ethan's hand patted my back in reassurance, but it did little to calm the growing haze in my mind. My body felt foreign—tense, coiled, like something inside me was straining to break free.
Then, the pressure crested. My neck arched on instinct, my back bowing as I pressed closer without thought.
Ethan noticed. His palm slid behind my waist, steadying me.
The tension that had built all morning slowly ebbed under his touch. For a while, the only sounds in the room were soft, wet noises—each one making my face burn hotter.
Nearly ten minutes passed before he finally pulled away.
By then, the discomfort had faded to almost nothing.
His method was... undeniably better than mine.
Still dazed, I fumbled for my clothes, fingers trembling.
Ethan noticed. He guided my wrists into the sleeves, smoothed the fabric down, then drew back the curtain.
"Go to training," he said, avoiding my eyes. "I'll ask around for the right meds and bring them tonight."
His tone was awkward—as if he hadn't been the one in control moments ago.
I nodded and tried to stand, but my legs wobbled. I stumbled right into him.
A low chuckle rumbled above me, snapping me back to reality.
Flustered, I scrambled upright. Ethan cleared his throat. "Training ends at six-thirty, right? Eat dinner and come back by seven."
I nodded too quickly and bolted outside. Only when the afternoon sun seared my skin did I finally feel grounded again.
What had just happened was... beyond anything I'd ever experienced.
At least my clothes were clean. No one would notice.
The rest of the afternoon passed in a haze. By dinner, I shuffled into the nearest cafeteria, barely registering the noise until someone tapped my arm.
Sophia—my new roommate—grinned and cut in front of me like she owned the place. A few grumbles rose from the line, but no one challenged her.
"Where were you at noon?" she asked, oblivious. "You never came back."
The memory of the infirmary flared hot in my cheeks. "I—I wasn't feeling well. Went to the clinic."
Sophia's eyes lit up. "Oh! I heard one of the campus doctors is seriously hot. Did you see him?"
Ethan was attractive—way more than the grubby freshmen I'd met so far.
My hesitation made her cackle. "He is! I'm faking sick next time, just to check him out."
Her relentless questions about Ethan killed my appetite. I ducked out early.
Sophia had been the talk of orientation—pretty, outgoing, effortlessly charming upperclassmen. She'd even swapped dorms just to snag a sunlit room.
And now, barely into training, she already knew about Ethan's looks.
I sighed. Being quiet really wasn't an advantage here.
When I reached the clinic, only Ethan's room glowed under the dim hallway lights.
He'd changed into casual clothes—jeans and a fitted tee—looking more like a grad student than a doctor. Spotting me, he lifted a paper bag. "Got the meds."
I skimmed the instructions as he explained, "Non-lactational secretion is rare—usually from excess prolactin. But this'll suppress it gradually." His calm voice soothed my nerves.
"How long until it... stops?"
Loose uniforms hid it now, but once we switched to regular clothes? Layers would look suspicious.
Ethan met my eyes. "Relax. You'll see improvement in about two weeks." He pulled out a box. "I also got you some tools. Let's exchange contacts in case you need help."
The bulky packaging made me hesitate. Our dorm was cramped—six beds, no privacy, daily inspections. Nowhere to hide it.
Swallowing my pride, I asked, "Can I... just use it here?"
Ethan glanced at me, his glasses hiding what might've been amusement. "Fine, but we'll need a schedule. This place gets busy."
Relief washed over me. "Thank you."
Back in the dorm, Sophia was the only one still up, cackling over a game with male voices egging her on. Peace wouldn't come until lights-out...
I climbed into bed and found Ethan's friend request waiting.
His profile pic was a corgi mid-sprint—fur flying, tongue lolling, pure chaotic joy.
For some reason, it tugged at my memory... but the thought slipped away. Shaking my head, I hit Accept.
