Daniel Evans merely frowned and rolled over, already deep in sleep.
"Let's go—now."
I grabbed Nathan Roscente's hand and pulled him out of the bedroom. The second the door clicked shut, a cold sweat broke out across my skin, my whole body trembling.
The parking lot was deserted when we reached it. I slid into the backseat, my pulse racing.
Nathan was on me before I could even catch my breath—hot, heavy, his hands everywhere. He ripped open my blouse, his mouth hungry against my skin, teeth grazing, tongue teasing. One hand worked my pants open, fingers slipping between my thighs with practiced ease.
The night was pitch black, no moon, just thick, suffocating darkness—but somehow, it made everything easier. The scent of him, raw and intoxicating, flooded my senses. A soft moan escaped me—high, needy, a sound I barely recognized as my own.
"Didn't take you for such a little tease," he growled against my neck. "Just wait. I'll ruin you for anyone else. You'll never forget how good I can make you feel."
His eyes burned into me, dark and relentless, like embers in the shadows. A shudder ran through me.
After years of marriage, I was about to give myself away—but not to my husband. My muscles locked up.
Guilt twisted in my chest. I turned my face away, but his fingers caught my chin, forcing me to meet his gaze.
"I'm not stopping."
His voice was rough, dangerous, like a warning from somewhere deep and forbidden.
Then he yanked my panties down. That thick, aching length of him pressed against me, ready to—
A sharp cough cut through the night. Footsteps. The beam of a flashlight swung toward the car.
My stomach dropped. I dragged Nathan down against me, hissing, "Security. Stay low."
Nathan cursed under his breath but rolled off me, crouching on the floorboard.
If they caught us like this, it wouldn't just be my reputation in ruins.
Nathan had a name to protect. A married woman in his backseat? That kind of scandal would end him.
I scrambled to straighten my clothes, flattening myself against the seat. When the guard rapped on the window, I held my breath, perfectly still.
"Huh. Car's empty. Thought we had some action back here."
"Maybe they heard us and quit. Let's hang back, see if they come back."
The two guards leaned against the car, lighting cigarettes, laughing about things that made my face burn.
The heat inside me faded, replaced by cold, creeping clarity. What the hell had I almost done?
Strangely, I was grateful for those guards. They'd pulled me back from the edge.
Nathan lay rigid beside me. In the dim light, I could see him—still hard, though not as painfully so. Even half-soft, he was bigger than Daniel. The realization sent a fresh wave of panic through me.
I'd been seconds away from crossing a line I couldn't uncross.
The car felt icy now. I wanted to leave, but the guards weren't budging.
The waiting was agony.
Nathan had to be suffering worse. I glanced at him, but his face was unreadable in the dark. What was going through his head?
